Hi, Ive just changed my router (as I moved to fibre broadband), and since then my Epson BX630FW does not appear to work on my daughters Windows 7 Laptop. The printer and the Laptop are connected to the same router. Ive even uninstalled the printer and tried to re-install, whereupon the Epson software fails to find a printer. The printer however works just fine on my own iMac, and iPad, no reconfiguration was needed so I know its visible on the LAN. Ive even fully disabled the Windows firewall on the Laptop. There are no other firewalls running that I can find. View the thread

The link provided in the answer does not work for me. I get Access Denied. See below. Jeff I am having trouble getting my XP and earlier machines to log on to the Windows 8 machine where all of the printers and other resources are. They find it, it is visible in the Network, but the log on and password are rejected. I did set a password for the W8 machine network. The Windows 8 machine finds and connects to the other machines perfectly, but they cannot log on to it. The systems that cannot log on to the W8 machine are: Windows ME Windows XP Pro Premium Windows Vista Home Premium The exception is when I run Windows 7 on the multi operating system machine, it finds the Windows 8 machine and logs on with no trouble. I am unable to open Photos that are supposedly included in e-mails I receive. The word Photos is shown to the right of the sender's name and e-mail address at the top of the page. When I click the word, an area opens that shows several file areas with the file Photos checked. Other files are documents, pictures and music. In the body of the e-mail, sometimes there are boxes with an X in the top left corner that do nothing when clicked. There are no download boxes to be clicked. Sometimes, as well , when the word Photos is clicked, a paper clip shape appears that does nothing when clicked as well. Thank you for any help. Gotta know. View the thread

I have a Toolbar that I wrote years ago. The toolbat is activated as I logon by the registry, however under Windows eight, the taskmgr is not activated, when I request it. I am told the requested operation needs elevation. I presume the error is referring to privileges. When I run the toolbar with privileges everything is ok. What I an asking for is a place in the registry that will run the toolbar, when I login - with privileges. Alternately, does anyone know how to turn on privileges in code? On many occasions Windows 8 Pro update tries to update and cannot due to unknown issues. I am running a dual core Pentium 3.4mHz with 4mb ram and a Nvidia GT7800 128mb graphics card on a Asus P5LD2. Looked into troubleshooting and got no where. View the full article

I have searched no one has asked yet. I have read the large threads on the subject. My key supplier (major name in UK) are saying less and less models are left that come with Win7. Also that I can not downgrade Win8 EOM therefore my only option is to buy Win8 volume licencing! I know I could buy a fix tempted to ask them to pay for it. There is the open source fix but do I want a 1000 PCs that one day stop because MS send out a patch combating the fixes. Thanks Gary No one needs the headaches this has brought to business users. I was wondering if there was any way to create a desktop shortcut to emulate the Windows Key on a keyboard? I am running Windows 8 and there are times I am in the Desktop mode and want to go to the Start screen, without the use of the keyboard and the pop up does not appear. I wanted something Solid that I could Pin to the task bar, making it easier to switch screens. I think this would make my life on Windows8 easier. Let me know if you have any answers. When I start the computer, it boots slowly. When I finally get to the start screen, I cannot click any apps for it freezes every time. Even when I go to the main desktop, and I click a program, it freezes. The Internet is fine and battery is full. I tried taking the battery out for a while and restarting it multiple times and it is still acting the same way. Does anyone have a solution? View the full article

It works in an other computer. If I try with win in safe mode there is no problem. After long time I get the message; The drive E: is not present. (Free translation from danish) An other stick causes Pathfinder to show the stick on and of again and again. It also works in safe mode. Pulling out the stick makes Pathfinder to continue. I have had more than one call recently where the caller says he is ringing from Windows to address a problem. I have not reported a problem so I have either said I will await a communication by email or post from Windows, or that there is no problem. I find this unnerving I am on TPS, have caller display [no number is ever left] and do not wish to be approached like this. I was testing the Surface Pro with remote web workplace and i get an rdp 6.0 error when i try to connect to a computer. I know it will work in compatibility mode but then my resolutions drops and it opens only half size on the surface pro. This is a big issue as my company wanted to buy all our reps this to connect remotely to the office. Has any one figured out a work around. I have alread installed rollup 6 for windows server 2008. I have Toshiba Satelite Pro Win 7 with Parental control which is password protected. Children are not using it any more and I do not know how to remove it. Cannot do any program update, or PC clean-up or security essential update, nothing at all. What to do? I have no Windows7 CD and I did not make back-up to take it back to factory settings. Quiero saber para que sirven estos programas porque tengo por lo menos 3 instalados al igual que Microsoft Visual c++ 2008 redistributale x86 (tengo 5 instalados). Estos se cargan al instalar algunos programas pero al desinstalar los mismos no se eliminan ocupándome al menos espacio en HD que no sé si sean necesario mantenerlos. Podrían por favor ayudarme a saber si debo o puedo desinstalarlos o si al menos puedo quitar algunos pero otros no y cuales son? View the thread
