I prefer Outlook Express to Windows Live Mail email program, but will Outlook Express even work on my new 64 bit computer (old one is 32 bit)? One of the reasons I do NOT like Windows Live Mail is because it uses the same address book for all the mailboxes, and when you try to migrate the contacts from XP it sometimes does it 2, 3, & 4 times with some of the addresses, creating a mess and is a time consuming operation to clean up. I received a call from Microsoft, saying my computer is at risk and my warranty is running out. I bought my computer in May of last year. He was able to access to my computer. Saying I have alot of Malware, etc. that is slowing it down. Then he gave me a choice of what I wanted to pay, to for it to be reinstated. I just want to know who to call, so it won't happen again. I have an upgrade disk for Win 7 Pro to Upgrade a Win Vista 64 bit Home Premium Laptop. Upgrade Advisor says my options are installing 7 Home Premium or Ultimate. Does my upgrade Pro disk include Ultimate or must I return my OPENED upgrade package to the store?I want Pro but would accept Ultimate. It seems that sleep mode has a lot of problems. One of my computers won't go into sleep mode (wakes immediately), and now the other one is acting strange too. This morning I hear my computer start up when it's not supposed to... on the screen it says that Windows recovered from a crash and asked me to send the error details to Microsoft. How can Windows "crash" while it is supposed to be sleeping/hibernating? I thought that in this sleep mode everything is supposed to be "almost" powered off? Alright, I've got the Windows XP Home Edition-32 version, Service Pack 2. I bought a Gear Head keyboard yesterday, along with a Dynex usb optical mouse. My old keyboard and mouse were completly beyond repair; i threw them away. I plugged in my new usb devices. When Windows is finished loaded it takes me to my logon screen. However, my mouse and keyboard will not respond at all. This prevents me from going any further. Also, they will not respond during the start-up, BIOS, or Windows Advanced Options Menu. I don't have a recovery disc. I bought the computer with XP already on it, so I don't have the Operating System disc. What's my next step? View this thread

Original title: viedo settings I have had to re-format and reinstall XP. Everything is working except for certain things like graphics, card and other games and some photos. When I try to backup my file, after a while, a bubble speech says, "The last backup did not complete successfully." I click on it. The details were as following: Check your backup Access is denied. I purchased an HP Pavilion dv6 NOTEBOOK PC and a Razer Naga to play Diablo III (D3). Initially, when I first ran D3, it says my video driver may have been out of date. I used Windows Update to fix it and it worked perfectly for the first few levels. Recently, every time I tried to play D3 and used the side buttons, all I get is a consistent BSOD with the error below. Best Buy already replaced the notebook with the exact model and when they tried using the side buttons of the mouse, it had worked properly (well, according to them, that is). I went home, reinstalled D3 and the video driver (since it asked me to do it again) and I still ended up with the exact same error. Not sure if it's a compatibility issue between D3, my notebook and the Razer Naga but something is definitely making the three components not want to talk to each other, so to speak. My PC went berserk yesterday, and i lost the use of some programs from the desktop and the start menu. When i try to open, it briefly tries to open in internet explorer and immediately jumps into a small center window and acts as if it's downloading from the internet, and they all have this .ink at the end of the program name, but nothing happens. For example the following four programs read: File download - Security warning Name: Trend Micro Titanium Security 2012.ink" Type: Ink_auto_file, 1.02XB File download - Security warning Name: Yahoo! Messenger.ink Type: Ink_auto_file, 802 Bytes File download - Security warning Name: HP Solutions Center.ink Type: Ink_auto_file 1.06 KB File download - Security warning Name: Bearshare.ink Type: Ink_auto_file 1.079 KB Also lost my Microsoft trial version when attempting to open from the start menu it also says: File download - Security warning Name;:Microsoft Office.ink Type: Ink_auto_file I don't want to restore to factory settings. Oh, btw- I can't use restore to an earlier date from the control panel. It ttempt to restore, but then it says it cannot. From the system tools it says, Internet Exploerer [No Add-ons] and To top it off, four programs on the desktop have the white box with the internet explorer logo in them, over the program name.
