My information when setting up windows live mail is wrong ,I apparently did not know the correct answers because I can't send out mail. I get and error , proxy,pop 3 etc. and it shows an old email I had so something is not right. I need to know how to get back in and do it right I have like 12 e-mails I've tried and gave up but there sitting to be sent and then it won't go through. I tried deleting programs I do not use, but that did not work. This is a pain in the butt when there are updates for programs you have and cannot get it. I have a powepint document (2010) which links to a excel spreadsheet (2010). It's linked via the network drive: path, but each time I try to update the link it forces the path over to a UNC path. This causes massive issues with addins I have in excel. I have read throug http://support.microsoft.com/kb/323013 which elaborates on this issue and suggests a fix for this. This does not seem to work as this may be a fix for office 2002/2003 (ver 10.0) and i tried this on office 2010 (ver 14.0). I have also tried to search this theme up on google and technet and i do not see any fixes for this on 2010. My main question here would be: Is there some kind of policy and/or reg-fix that changes this? If so, what is the name? If not, how can i change this behaviour? View this thread

I have a Compaq nx9010 laptop runnings XPsp3. I have tried to install drivers for a Belkin F5D8011 wireless notebook card. I have downloaded the correct driver into the downloads folder, but when I point the Update Driver Wizard to the folder I get a message telling me there are not any driver files in the folder. Belkin have not been very helpful, they just gave me a link to the driver. Does this mean the driver is not suitable for XP, even though Belkin says it is? Is is possible to install the driver without using the Wizard? Is there something wrong with (newly installed) XP? View this thread

Hello, In our company we use remot applications for employs that work out side office. One of thos applications is IE(Internet Explorer) with access to Intranet, for intranet we use Sharepoint Server 2010. On server with remote application we installed Office 2010 - Full. And the problem came when users trying to Open Excel Files by remote application, first file open in web acess excel, and then when they trying Open in Application massage pop-up: "Tobe able to open thisworkbook, you must haveinstalled version of MicrosoftExcel and the Web browsermust support opening filesdirectly from Excel in a browser." When we log on server via Remote Desktop on this user and try to Open the same file, shows massage to open in excel application. I alredy done: - Set up sharepoint server open files in Applications only - I check that class for open files is enabled in IE on Terminal Server - Reinstaled Office 2010 If someone know resolution for this iusses, share it with me. I'm trying to delete a folder from my c: drive called battle.net (Diablo 3). However when I right click on it to try and delete it, it says I need permission todo so. I'm using Vista Home premium 64 bit. I've noticed that the only folders that give me the option to run as administrator andperform deletes are marked with the microsoft symbol. Haven't touch deploying Office for the last few versions. I remember with Office 2003 [if I remember right] that when Office was installed from a network share with an admin install, if that network share was removed, updates to Office won't install as Office [setup] was looking for the network share. Can I assume that if I install Office 2010 Pro Plus [or Enterprise] from a network share with an admin install that it stores the MSOCache locally and it won't complain about missing files when updating? Ok, here we go. I am studying for my A+ on my own. I have two older laptops, one is a HP 6230 and the other a Dell Inspiron 6000. On a whim, I wiped the HP clean. It previously ran XP SP3 Professional. I reinstalled that on my Dell. Good to go and it runs fine. With me so far??? The Dell ran XP SP3 Home. I installed that on the HP and attempted to activate but was denied. Think I may have answered my question and want to know if I need a multi user license for the home edition. I understand Microsoft is transitioning the user base to 7 however I prefer XP for programming my radios (am a electronics tech with a wireless background) because my expensive programs will not run on 7 and cannot afford to upgrade them. I'm helping out a friend and now I need help. The friend purchased a Compaq laptop from eBay. Installing a USB wireless adapter in the laptop and decided to also do the Microsoft security updates and load a anti-virus since it didn't have one. The updates went to the validation of the software and it has failed. There is a MS product key on the bottom that is easily readable. The windows xp update product key did not work. I then noticed the key is for XP Home Edition. The laptop had XP Pro installed. I have a dusty copy of XP Home Edition (I'm running only Win 7) from a long gone PC. Can I use it and the key on the bottom of the laptop? My copy has a product key on the box. Really hate to re-install but that is the case. Does Digital River have a copy of XP Home Edition I can get? The laptop does not meet the specs for even Vista. Thanks from me and him. Darryl View this thread
