I was printing fine from this laptop. Then I went to print and I got an error message re the print spooler. I tried to add printer and go the message "Windows can't open Add Printer. The local print spooler service is not running. Please restart the spooler or restart the machine." I tried rebooting, but that changed nothing. I found print spooler in "Services". It's set on automatic, but is stopped. When I click on "start", I get an error message 1053 saying "the service did not respond to the start or control request in a timely fashion". Please help. Rather than create individual Live IDs for each of the 7 PCs in a small company, in order to install Office 2013, can we install 7 copies of Office 2013 using a single Live ID? (each copy of Office 2013 is licenced individually, not bought through VLSC). Or, is there a better way to install several copies of Office 2013 in an organisation (that does not want to buy Volume Licencing, they just want to buy individual copies)? View this thread

Installed windows 7 to two computers but now 1 computer states that its not genuine while the other has been upgraded to windows 8. (didn't know that I could only install on one pc, the box didn't have any info regarding that or I didn't look hard enough.) I have owned this licensed copy of Windows XP Home for over 10 years. It is not installed on any other machine than the one I intalled it on today. I am fixing my brother-in-law's desktop which got a virus and needed to install a new copy of Windows (since he does not have his CD right now). I registered and activated with no problem, then applied over 120 updates and have repaired nearly all the device driver issues. Now, when applying the next set of updates, I am being told the key I have has been activated too many times and I have to get a new key (which means buying Windows 7, apparently). The license agreement says I can use this software on a single PC and there is no stated limit or indication that I can only activate a certain number of times. This is unacceptable. I paid good money for this OS and I expect to continue using it until it goes off support next year. Please help. View this thread

I guess that I probably changed something on my setup as I can not create anymore a new folder. This applies not only to the C but also to any other usb key or external disc. I guess it should be in the setup of the machine that I have to look. Can someone help me ? View the thread

my computer starts to open XP Professional and then goes to a 4 bit screen resolution and says this version of windows needs to be activated. I have been running this version for two years. The following problem is on my Brother In Laws computer,Running Vista. Computer starts up ok but after using the mouse a few times the computer will freeze and will also display a Black screen, resulting in a restart. I have tried a System restore and later a defrag, but the unit freezes before any diagnostics can be completed. I am using my computer to ask this question as my brother In laws unit is not working. I tried to run windows update and it failed. I then ran 6 optional updates and after restart, I had a black screen, like I was in safe mode. I have a Samsung Infuse SGH - I997 cell phone. I have downloaded the software from Samsung with drivers and have installed it on my laptop running Windows 7 SP1. When I connect the phone to the USB port it charges but Windows does not detect the phone to install the device driver. I have tried other USB devices and the ports work for each on I tried except for the cell phone. Is there something I can do so I can download pictures from my cell phone onto my laptop?
