I recently purchased Compuclever PC Tuneup Maestro and PC Clean Maestro. Since then, Maestro reports numerous erroneous registry entries and defrags needed. I have checked those items multiple time with Norton and hardly ever find registry errors or defrag requirements. Compuclever reports that they are approved by Microsoft. View the thread

My laptop pc crashed and I had another hard-drive installed with the programs from the old pc "cloned" to the new hard drive.I can open Defender but can not update it. I get an error code Oxc8000222 Also, Defender has dropped from my start up menu. Also Defender is no longer in the control panel. I cannot get Visio 2013 to uninstall. This is the XML config file that I call using a batch script: This is my batch script: "%~dp0Visiosetup.exe" /uninstall Visio /config "%~dp0config_visio.xml" I use the same uninstall method for all of the other products, ProPlus and Project, and they uninstall fine. Can pin items to Windows explorer folder successfully without issues. Since I've installed Office 2013 I have not been able to pin items on Word or Excel (only items I need to pin things on). A full reinstall, complete with all the nightmares that gave me, has not helped. View this thread

I had to reinstall Windows Vista and complete the necessary Windows Updates so I could upgrade to 7. I've installed everything including SP1 according to the installed updates window. My computer will not recognize that SP1 is installed and won't let me upgrade to 7. View this thread

When I first installed it asked me to create an account which I did with a gmail address. That gmail account has been in the top right of all office products from the day I installed. I have had non-stop problems with crashing, odd window behavior, and the inability to pin, so I tried reinstalling today. I tried to have everything ready! I made a backup of my email and opened up Word to copy (what I thought was) the product key and opened Excel to compare keys and made sure they were the same. I wrote the key down, uninstalled and reinstalled. After loooots of problems trying to get the installer to even work (apparently changing the name of the installer file stops it from working!) I finally got to the finishing point - it asked me to sign in. I did so with the associated gmail address and I got the fun message "The account --- isn't associated with this Office product. To activate this install, please sign in with the account associated with your product". I went back and tried signing in with the key instead and that's when I discovered that whatever number I had copied down (which was the only one I could find anywhere in the about panel) was a 20 digit alphanumeric code, and googling revealed that actually it should be a 25 digit code. Um... great? So now I'm stuck with a paid version of Office that I have no way of using and I'm at work with no email, no word and no excel. Pretty much 99% of what I do in a day. HELP? I have Windows 7, with Microsoft Esssentials for virus control, Speedy PC Pro, and (here is the program in question) now, Malwarebytes (this was recommended by "Adavnced Tech Support", referred by "safe cart"). I am PC illiterate for the most part, so I ask, Is malwarebytes compatible with all I have and like? My PC just informed mw that it is not, Says it is compatible with Windows xp 2. I have installed a program which has hijacked the extension .asc from notepad (where it was previously associated). I have been able to re-associate it with notepad for opening but the displayed icon is still from the other program. I still need the other program but also would like the file type to open in a text editor (the hijacking program will function without the association, at least it does on my Win7 system).Any help would be appreciated.Don View this thread

Het lukt me niet om bestaande (XP en hoger) office bestanden die op een USB stick staan te openen wanneer deze in het USB slot van de Experiabox zit. Krijg deze foutmelding vanuit het betreffende Office programma: “De toegang is geweigerd. Neem contact op met de beheerder.” In het File Server menu van de Experiabox heb ik Security uitgevinkt. Wanneer ik de stick direct in een PC plaats, zijn alle bestanden leesbaar. Andere bestanden (.txt, .pdf etc) zijn leesbaar. Wanneer ik een nieuw bestand maak en opsla op de stick in de Experiabox, kan ik dat later gewoon openen. Het probleem doet zich voor met PC’s onder W7 en W8 en met office 2010 resp 2013. hi sir, i have lenovo z570 win 7 ultimate pc. it have a 750 gb hdd. when i check properties of disk f from my computer screen then it says 107 gb used. but when i check properties of all my files (incuding hidden files and system protected files) then it says 95 gb. where is my 12 gb. i have gone to diskmgmt.msc , jdisk report etc. this all do not tell where is my 15 gb. i need help :) ): View the thread

Setting up some new Windows 7 PCs, we have installed retail version of Office Home & Business 2013 on the machines. I also have to install Publisher 2013 Retail version on 2 machines but when I try the install fails and it screws up the existing Office installation as well. I had to use the patch to uninstall and start again with the Office install. Any ideas of how to install Publisher in this scenario? View this thread

I followed some of these suggestions and found the following information under Task Manager: Memory 1013 MB Cached 553 Free 9 I keep removing programs but I find nothing else for removal. I noticed under the Performance & Tools that I have twice a reference to Explorer as one of the major space takers: iexplorer##1 with 523,436 KB and further down another one: explorer 277,956 KB I also have Google desktop as part of the top 10 space takers. Completely baffled with this. I have a Brother MFP990 all in one station. It is connected wirelessly to my network. I have a laptop connected wirelessly to the network and it prints fine. My office computer, however will not print to it, even though it seems to recognize it is there. The printer is communicating with myu computer and letting me know ink levels are low. My scanner is working perfectly and scans to the computer, no problem. But every time I try to print, the computer tells me the printer is offline. I tried disabling Norton firewall, no difference. I tried uninstalling the software, and oddly enough, during the uninstall process, an outstanding print request actually printed! When I reinstalled, same problem. Any Ideas??? View this thread
