  1. I am sure at my age I do not throw my mobile phones around. I am sure I do not dunk them in water. I wanted sensible answers for myself and for others to learn from. Not childish nonsence. You appear to break a lot of phones are you sure it is not your fault not a manufacturer fault?
  2. I was thinking of getting this phone: Blackberry curve 8900 Has anyone got this phone? Any pro,s and con,s of this phone? Is it worth me buying it?
  3. You are so correct there Nev. Did you check the videos we made earlier,we had great fun. They on FaceBook.
  4. http://photos-g.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-snc1/hs258.snc1/10528_176554102924_827707924_3775262_6395675_n.jpg Baby had new swimming goggles and I was adjusting them earlier. I was screaming laughing when she tried them on I just to take a picture.
  5. I WISH YOU GOOD LUCK.
  6. Helen a friend of my Kirsty spilt a whole pint glass on her older Dell laptop a few weeks ago. My advice I gave her was to tip the latop on one edge and let the water drain from the laptop and leave it propped up for a few days to dry out then try and see if it will work, lucky for her it dried out and all is fine. I noticed you dried the laptop off then a little switched it on. You should do as I told Kirsty leave it proped up for a few days to dry out properly. Then see if it works. I would not advise you yourself to remove or replace the laptop keyboard, did you not take out insurerance on the laptop when you bought it?
  7. No OS to load.No hard drive either. Tested PSU on another computer that I know works and it runs the computer fine.My tester PC that I use to test hardware that is. It is looking at new mainboard, ohhhh well lets wait and see what the boys round here bring me next. However now have spare GPUs,RAM,CD/DVD rom drives and more. I love freebies they cost me nothing to gain and nothing to test. I think I am just over tired,a lot of stress and my mind is blank to think of what I am doing.
  8. The monitor is the same and it works,it is my daughters monitor from her computer.
  9. I have been given two Acer Aspire T310-3970 towers. I have an elderly friend who is rather deaf, his computer is the old block type and runs slow and to be honest is just slow.I have done a cleanup on it for him but he needs a newer model. His nephew gave me the two Acer towers free. Now Raymond is not paying me for this job nore would I charge him this is just to give the old guy a faster working computer. Issue is both computers show black screen on monitor and the going to sleep box. I have tested the RAM etc and all is well. I have fitted two diffrent graphics cards neither helped still got black screen. PSU are fine as is all other hardware as far as I can see. I did change the BIOS battery and one of the towers did give me the Acer screen.Rebooted the monitor was black again,I did use the onboard graphics card while doing this. The BIOS battery was older one and I then borrowed another battery and still same black screen. Ok I have had a stressfull few days and my mind is blank maybe I am just missing something totaly simple. I am thinking of stripping both computers and start testing hardware peice by peice. Ok it could still be simple thing as BIOS battery. I also reset BIOS. Any idea,s for me guys?
  10. Try to reset the preferences to the defaults in the Safe mode See also Preferences not saved (MozillaZine KB) You can try to create a new (test) profile to check if it is caused by your current profile. See Standard diagnostic: Profile issues First test the new profile without making changes and if that works then you can transfer some files to the new profile or you an try to fix the original profile. Be careful that you do not copy corrupted files. See Transferring data to a new profile - Firefox The jar: issue can be caused by the Ask.com toolbar or the ZoneAlarm Spy Blocker Tool Bar (Tools > Add-ons > Extensions). See http://kb.mozillazine.org/Problematic_extensions#Ask.com_Toolbar
  11. HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  12. Darn, again I am stuck up the local Dropin Center this week. It appears my organisation skills are very well needed up there. I now belive with conversations held there they want me on the local council commity which runs all the centers in my area such as the Dropin Center. Then another conversation today I was asked to join the commity as I am needed. But I am starting to think this will be a lot of work which will include a lot of paper work, helping to catch up on months of paper work which appears undone by others.Plus running the charity shop, computer lessons and add a few more jobs into that mix. Hence less time on forum.I just need to organise myself a little more and can spend more time here. However I have a plan,I will be allowed to surf the forum and help during the day as I will be asking for permission to do so.Plus I will be on the commity and make the rules. So just to say I am around as much as I can be and when I get myself in order and more planned days I will spend more time here. JB.
  13. RandyL is correct it will work in windows 7,and you can still drag and drop songs. As long as they are MP3,s.
  14. Hello paparay and welcome. Strange enough I had to deal with this sort of issue a few weeks ago on a neigbour Raymonds PC. I think you have the same issue, the tool bar along the top is black and you cannot see what to click? I had to hover over the tool bar and click tools.internet options/delete history, cookies and temp files. Can you try that? Also in internet options there is listed appearance you can try and change the colours there. However this failed on my neigbours computer. You could try add and remove and uninstall IE8 and see if reverting back to IE 7 solves the problem or after an uninstall try a reinstall.I didnt have time to try this on my neigbour Raymonds PC. This one stumped me and I didnt fix it others may have an idea of what the issue is.
  15. Hello and welcome. I asume your Windows Vista instilation is on the 160 gig and the 1 TB is storage? To boot from the 1 TB you would have to install windows on it.
  16. Danzil you got what I mean. Thankyou I found it hard to explain what I wanted. :)
  17. Clcik start/right click on computer and choose properties/device manager. What is listed under sound/audio?
  18. Hello Bradley. Is your sound card a Realtek? Why I ask that is Realtek come usaly with there own software to adjust sound, bass etc. Intel usaly also includes there own software.
  19. I am to be starting to run an adult computer course up the local Dropin Center once some work is completed up there and I can set up a computer room. It will be proberly twice a week. I will be doing the course set up as three steps. Step 1 will be for the adults who have never even touched a computer,so this will be a total start from the begining. Two of my students I know have never used a computer. Step 2 for those who can use a computer but possibly lack skills in some areas such as Office,AV,s,Word, etc. Step 3 will be for computer repairs such as reinstalls, fitting a hard drive,RAM and so on.But this will be basic and general teaching. Nothing will be on the scale of building a computer from scratch or how to regedit etc.It will be basic help and how to. I know step 1 and 2 will proberly over lap on some subjects. I need a little help on organisation. Example: Step 1 will start how to turn on a computer and logon, how to install an AV,how to uninstall software, setting up MSN.Basic. Step 2 I have been asked to include how to use FaceBook.Using Office, how to scan a computer via diffrent methods such as CCleaner, disk cleanup, defrag and so on. Step 3 is hardware and software but will be delt with on what my students put to me.If they ask a how to then I will teach them it. Ok what I am asking is a little help on what to teach in step 1 and what I should teach in step 2? A compiled list. Any idea,s on what to include? Please remeber these are adults who will need the help and I need to print out some sheets on what the basic courses will include. Thankyou guys and girls.
  20. Hello and welcome to the forum. I have just been reading your thread on your drive issues. As I work on a few computer forums I came across your name several times with the exact same issue copied and pasted elsewere. I first noted you were already receiving help:C/Net Posted here:PCHForum Posted here:CDFreaks I could possibly spend my time finding a few more forums you posted the issue on. Now looking through your postings and your specifications and information on these other forums I noted you have XP Black installed. I noted one forum even locked your thread. It was also noted when you first joined this forum you stated XP Black as your operating System but then changed it. It also appears you are fully aware of most forum rules which state about illegal activities such as hacks and cracks. Rules. XP Black is not a legal OS and would not of been given to a company via Microsoft. I therefore have no choice but to lock your thread and no help can be given at this time. If you in the future install a fully legal OS and return to the forum and require help we would be very pleased to help you,but alas untill such time we are unable to help at this time as it breaks forum rules. Moderation Team. Jelly Bean.
  21. Thankyou covert. It was not realy a break I done some volunteer work which tired me out but I did enjoy the change.
  22. That is excellent covert. We now have a Security Team expert on the forum so if you have any issues with infections we can help you further.
  23. Hello and welcome. I am sure I can only advise that you need to conatct the person who setup the passwords and what is allowed on the computer to be either connected, used or run. The head of the IT department should be contacted and they will setup the system correctly and within the school/colleges policies. The school,s head of IT can chat with you, head of the school and decide what is for the best. JB.
  24. Hello and welcome. Have you allowed it through Mcafee firewall?
  25. Hello and welcome. A 3G dongle can only handle so much data transfer or usage and speed. They will continualy discconect or loose signal. They are only ment for a general surfer and limited data downloads.
