Hello there. Try this for virtual memory: Click Start, right-click My Computer, and then click Properties. In the System Properties dialog box, click the Advanced tab. In the Performance pane, click Settings. In the Performance Options dialog box, click the Advanced tab. In the Virtual memory pane, click Change. Change the Initial size value and the Maximum size value to a higher value, click Set, and then click OK. Click OK to close the Performance Options dialog box, and then click OK to close the System Properties dialog box. Please check how much free space you have left on your hard drive. Missing .dll problem on XP PC
Jelly Bean replied to superowl's topic in Tech Support & Discussions Forum
Did you check boot order in BIOS and set CD rom to first boot then hard drive to second? Did you load defaults in BIOS before setting the boot priority? This should help: Error message: "Windows could not start because of a computer disk hardware configuration problem" -
Good Morning. :)

Hello and welcome to the forum. Is your computer a mini ATX case? Is your computer a Gateway? If you do have a mini ATX case there may not be enough room to fit a larger card.If you could post your specifications this may help us determin what would fit. Although a 8400 card is a decent card it is still a lower graded card.Nvidia 9 serise would be a better option if there is room inside your case. A little more information would help us help you.

PC CONSTANTLY RESTARTING!!
Jelly Bean replied to Haymaker's topic in Tech Support & Discussions Forum
Hello and welcome to the forum. Firstly please post computer specifications,as in hardware. Firstly lets reset BIOS and see if that helps. Restart the computer and it should say on post screen "Press ? to enter setup" ? could be Del,F1,F2 or another. Enter BIOS load defaults save and exit. Another thing to try is to power her off and disconnected from wall outlet. Open her up touch power supply for a few seconds then clean internals. Download and run:SpeedFan - Access temperature sensor in your computer then please post a screen shot of the results. JB. -

I do the same as Wolfey, I swop to a PS/2 keyboard for installs then changes back to USB once everything is setup. As BIOS was reset USB support for a USB keyboard is not set hence use a PS/2. -
Window's won't boot from disk!
Jelly Bean replied to Vampirebat666's topic in Tech Support & Discussions Forum
Are you using a USB keyboard and mouse? If yes then switch to PS/2. Load defaults in BIOS then set boot to: CD rom. Hard drive. Floppy. -
When using SLi you then use NVIDIA Control Panel Advanced options so you can individualy set res etc for diffrent games. So you could set whats best for the games you play,it takes a little time but worth it in the end. Plus no resetting each time to play diffrent games. I am sure others will input for you. I have dual Dell monitors and think they are pritty good screens.

Hello there. This could be gamma settings. If you are running NVIDIA control panel or ATI Catalyst then you should have already either software installed depending on what graphics card you have installed. If you do not have the software installed to corrispond with your graphics card download the updated drivers and software from either NVIDIA or ATI Radeon. Choose advanced options and check the settings. Or are you running and Intel?

Please help! PC won't boot...
Jelly Bean replied to lukeflegg's topic in Tech Support & Discussions Forum
Luke is this the same computer your having issues with in your other thread? Multiple threads on same issue or computer are not allowed. If you are using a USB keyboard and mouse switch to a PS/2 set. Load defaults in BIOS. At which point does the post screen as in BIOS check freeze or hang? -
Rule 10 says a lot about signitures and asking Admin for permission. I can clearly read that rule. I interpriate that as please ask admin for permission for one. You were clearly advertising a site on the forum in your signiture which is clearly against the forum rules. If you re-ad this link to your posts this will inturn be breaking forum rules. I can quote that rule for you if you are unclear and explain it to you more fully? JB.

windows xp will not start!
Jelly Bean replied to josh_brown10's topic in Tech Support & Discussions Forum
Here this may help: Possible cause of your error message. 1. Keyboard issue Try a diffrent keyboard. 2. Miscellaneous corruption It is recommend that you attempt to load the last known good configuration. 3. Corrupt boot.ini file. This issue often arises after a user has recently added or removed an operating system on the computer or added or removed hard disk drives in the computer. Make sure the line pointing to the operating system and it's drive and partition is properly configured in the [boot loader] and [operating systems] section. 4. Missing boot.ini file. Try a repair install using full install disk not recovery disk. 5. Missing or corrupt ntoskrnl.exe file. Insert the Microsoft Windows XP CD. Note: If you have a recovery CD or a restore CD and not a Microsoft Windows XP CD it is likely the below steps will not resolve your issue. Reboot the computer, as the computer is starting you should see a message to press any key to boot from the CD. When you see this message press any key. In the Microsoft Windows XP setup menu press the R key to enter the recovery console. Select the operating system you wish to fix, and then enter the administrator password. Type expand d:\i386\ntoskrnl.ex_ c:\windows\system32 You will then be prompted if you wish to overwrite the file type Y and press enter to overwrite the file. Type exit to reboot the computer. 6. Corrupted hard disk drive or severely corrupted Windows. Once at the recovery console type chkdsk /r Once completed type exit and see if issue is resolved. If the above fails. Final item is your hard drive has errors that are unable to be fixed, replace your hard drive. -

Hello and welcome to the forum. Here is a link I found on turning file share off. How to configure file sharing in Windows XP You need to make sure file share is off and set files and folders to private. If you follow the instructions and any attached links on what to do and not to do you should be fine. Get back to me if you need further help. You should changes passwords for your computer,MSN,yahoo etc on a monthy basics as this well help ensure he is not reading any of your private emails etc. Always logoff your computer when leaving it for some time then he would need your password to logon, never give him any passwords. In internet explorer click tools/internet options/delete history/cookies etc or under advanced tab on internet options check box to empty temp files when IE closes. Also click start/all programms/accessories/disk cleanup/check all boxes once it scanned for files and delete. If you in general keep your computer clean then traces can be made harder to find. I hope this helps? JB.

I will try and keep a watch on it and when this is to happen. Wonder if it will be any good and cheaper than Vista/Windows 7? -
