The Error Loading dll32 is one of the things that concerns us as it is a core Windows file. It's possible that it's related to the infection and needs to be repaired or replaced. There is also the possibility that you are still infected and just don't know it or that other repairs need to be made first. To attempt to get your connection issues fixed may be futile until other things are considered first. One of our moderators is looking into this now and others will be too I'm sure. I assure you that it is being looked at. If you have anything to add by all means do so. Anything can help so let us know.

It's been some time since I used Gimp but it really is a good program. Play around with it when you have time. There are some tutorials on their site for how to use it if I remember right. It was easier to use then I first thought. Good luck.

Please be patient as we work on a solution. Thanks for the information. It might come in handy.

Can you tell us what viruses you had and what program you used to get rid of them please? It sounds like you have already tried some other steps to resolve this. What have you tried so far? In case we need it can you also tell us the make, model and number of your PC and what XP disks you might have?

File size and amount of pixels to start with is indeed an issue. The two are not always related. It gets complicated and it does depend on the programs you use. Paintshop Pro can do wonders. As long as the original file contains enough data you can increase the size without noticing deteriation. The point being you need a good file to start with.

Hi reptile; We have people that are familiar with the Acronis program so please wait while they advise you on what it can do. How long has it been since you registered Acronis and contacted them? It might take a few days. However I fail to see why you need to reinstall Windows on a regular basis. Especially as often as every four months. Are there issues that cause you to reinstall this often? Perhaps we can offer advice on that. What games do you want to back up? Can't you just reinstall them? It's usually simple enough to do. XP for some time has shipped with SP2 at least. So only SP3 and additional updates should be needed. You should not need 120 individuall updates. SP3 should cover most of them. My points are that I feel you may be over complicating things for no reason or have issues such as malware that this option will not solve. What is the make, model and number of your PC? Did it come with a driver or utility CD? Answers to all of my questions will get you the best possible advice from the members so help us out please.

Janet this is a picture of Windows Mail which is an email client just like Outlook is an email client. Click on the picture. There is no option to save a .mht or web page from a client such as this. You are viewing your mail from your internet provider on a web page. You are not viewing it from a email client. It can not be saved as a web page which is what you are trying to do. Go to Google and you can save it as .mht or web page. Your web mail can not be saved in such a manner.
-
Hi janet; I believe you are trying to save your web email as a .mht file which is the format Vista wants to save web pages in. What with all the scripting involved with web email pages it's likely that it is just not possible to save the email as a web page. To verify this I tried it on a yahoo web email account and got the error "This webpage could not be saved". I believe that your particular error message is not related to memory but rather Vista trying to interpet why it can't save. Try signing into your email on another computer and saving it as .mht (web page) and you will likely not be able to save in that format on a different computer either. This would confirm the issue is not your computer but the page itself. Also try saving a regular web page in the same format. Double confirmation. If the above is true then the work arounds are to access your email through a client such as Outlook or Outlook Express if your ISP allows a client to access it through a client or you could highlite the body of the email and copy it to a word processor and save that file. Keep in mind if you want to preserve hyperlinks contained in such a mail you need to save the text in a program such as Microsoft Word.

3) when did this error first occur and if you can remember if you had just installed or uninstalled any software? If I am not mistaken (I am not sure or I can not recall) when I installed some registry cleaning programs If you installed registry cleaning programs you probably used them. If this is the case you might have corrupted the registry beyond repair. Most of these programs are completely bogus and will only do harm. Even a reputable one should only be used by a master. Try the guide that Maynardvdm posted in case one of those was malware or your problem stems from malware. But at the end of the day I would backup your data as your registry might now be corrupted more then you know. You may encounter many more future problems if you ran those unknown registry cleaners.

Problems Printing Website pages
RandyL replied to Southwestuser's topic in Tech Support & Discussions Forum
I assume you are using IE7 as your browser. If so press the Alt key to bring up the File-Edit-View-Favorites-Tools-Help tool bar. Click File. Click Print Preview. In Print Preview select Shrink to Fit on the toolbar. If you are using FireFox ignore the first paragraph. -
Problems Printing Website pages

Some web pages or parts of web pages can't be printed but for those that can press the Alt key to bring up File. Click Print Preview. Select Shrink to Fit. -
It looks like the final version of IE8 is ready to go and can be downloaded from the Microsoft Internet Explorer Site. You can read more at Zdnet blogs. As for me I think I'll wait just a little longer to see how others like it.

RandyL replied to BAS007's topic in Tech Support & Discussions Forum
Hi; You seem to have two different problems. 1. Windows updates fail. 2. Your DVD drive does not work. Which issue should we address first? I'm also confused about your operating system. You say your OS is Vista Home premium but your profile says you have Vista Ultimate. Looking at the Acer site it seems your model mainly shipped with XP. Can you clarify exactly what you have and what you had when you got it please? -
Hi anntodd? By any chance are you deleting your cookies? Deleting your cookies will remove the saved passwords no matter if you had previously saved them. So even if IE is set to save them they might be getting deleted.

Hi tony; Vista sure is different and it's taken me some time to get used to it too. We will do our best to help you with it. Welcome to the right place tony.

My system is seriously messing up! please help!
RandyL replied to alternate's topic in Tech Support & Discussions Forum
I would try the following then try the Eset again. http://extremetechsupport.com/forum/images/icons/icon1.gif How to Reset or Restore Advanced Settings in Internet Explorer 7 How to Reset or Restore Adanced Settings in Internet Explorer 7. You need to access Internet Options. Here's how : In your Internet Explorer Browser Click Tools and then click on Internet Options, like this: http://i307.photobucket.com/albums/nn297/Mjfreepchelp/ietools.png Then click on the Advanced Tab, like this: http://i307.photobucket.com/albums/nn297/Mjfreepchelp/internetoptions2.png Then you can choose either Restore Advanced Settings or Reset depending on your situation. Warning: Reset will delete all temporary files, disable all browser add-ons and reset all changed settings -
Have a look at SourceForge for some alternatives. There might be something of interest.

My system is seriously messing up! please help!
RandyL replied to alternate's topic in Tech Support & Discussions Forum
alternate it's important that you follow the steps in the order listed. Do not skip any steps. The Eset scan is the last scan and only works in IE. Reboot after each scan as directed. Follow all the steps in the same time period. Do not do some of the steps now and some later. -
(1) Using Google web based mail is an option since everything is done on the web and not an email client on your computer. (2) The ability to sync with network folders is not included in Windows Vista Starter, Windows Vista Home Basic, and Windows Vista Home Premium.

I assume you are talking about a POP3 account. I don't think you can. The Sent Items are stored on the hard drive of the computer that sent the mail. The Stores Folder will be in C:\Users\Owner\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows Mail It might be possible to do if you change the location of the Stores Folder to a network folder but with your setup I doubt it. Also consider this from the Vista Help files. The ability to sync with network folders is not included in Windows Vista Starter, Windows Vista Home Basic, and Windows Vista Home Premium.

Hi new member with an xp problem
RandyL replied to daktariSA's topic in Tech Support & Discussions Forum
You probably need the drivers to connect with your network adapter. If you think the shop can supply you with your drivers and programs I would try that first. If they want to charge you money you can probably download the drivers from the manufacturers web site. What is the exact make/model/number again? We might be able to help if the shop won't.- 67 replies

My system is seriously messing up! please help!
RandyL replied to alternate's topic in Tech Support & Discussions Forum
I don't know why you are getting the BSOD but backing up is a good idea. As for your security products they leave a lot to be desired. We'll recommend better ones. As for ZoneAlarm it might be a problem with Norton. You should never run two different firewalls or two different real time protection Antivirus programs at the same time. Follow our guide as it has a very good record of cleaning up a malware infection. Your computer appears to be infected with Malware. Malware is software designed to infiltrate or damage a computer system without the owner's informed consent. It is a combination of the words malicious and software. The expression is a general term used by computer professionals to mean a variety of forms of hostile, intrusive, or annoying software or program code. It is in your best interest to note the following: Please disable your resident security applications (such as AVG, Spybot, WinPatrol, etc.) before performing the below procedure so that they do not interfere with the process. Perform all the steps in the order listed to avoid any conflicts. If unsure, please stop and voice your doubts. You might be required to go offline during the disinfection process. Therefore, it is recommended to print off the instructions below for ease of reference. If you stick to the above guidelines, all should go smoothly. ================================================ STEP 1 Download ATF-Cleaner by Atribune. Save the file to your Desktop. Double-click on the file to run the program. On the Main tab, check the Select All button. Next, click on the Firefox tab (if applicable) and check the Select All button. Note: If you would like to preserve your saved passwords in Firefox, then click No at the corresponding prompt. Now, click on the Opera tab (if applicable) and check the Select All button. Note: If you would like to preserve your saved passwords in Opera, then click No at the corresponding prompt. Press the Empty Selected button and click OK to acknowledge the corresponding prompt. Click on the Exit button to quit the program. ================================================ STEP 2 Please click here to download Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware. Save the file to your Desktop. Double-click mbam-setup.exe and follow the prompts to install the program. At the end, make sure a check mark is placed next to: Update Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware Launch Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware [*]Click Finish. [*]The program will download and update itself if it finds the necessity to do so. Please allow this. [*]Once the program has loaded, select Perform full scan, then click Scan. Note: Depending on your computer specifications, the scan may take some time to complete. Please wait patiently and do not interrupt the process. [*]When the scan is complete, click OK, and then Show Results to view the results. [*]Make sure that every entry is selected, and click Remove Selected. [*]Restart your computer. ================================================ STEP 3 Please click here to download SUPERAntiSpyware (Free Version). Save the file to your Desktop. Double-click SUPERAntiSpyware.exe and follow the prompts to install the program. Open SUPERAntiSpyware. Under Configuration and Preferences, click the Preferences button. Click the Scanning Control tab. Under Scanner Options make sure the following fields checked: [*]Click the Close button to leave the control center screen. [*]On the main screen, under Scan for Harmful Software click Scan your computer. [*]On the left, make sure you check mark C:\Fixed Drive. [*]On the right, under Complete Scan, choose Perform Complete Scan. [*]Click Next to start the scan. Please be patient while it scans your computer. [*]After the scan is complete, a Scan Summary box will appear with potentially harmful items that were detected. Click OK. [*]Make sure every entry has a check mark next to it and click Next. [*]A notification will appear that Quarantine and Removal is Complete. Click OK and then Finish to return to the main menu. [*]Restart your computer. ================================================ STEP 4 Please visit the ESET Online Scanner, using Internet Explorer to initiate the scan. Note: If you are running Windows Vista, then you will need Administrative privileges to complete the latter part of the procedure. To do so, right-click on the Internet Explorer icon in the Start Menu and select the Run As Administrator option in the shell context menu. Check mark the YES, I accept the Terms of Use box. Click the Start button. Click the Install button on the following screen. Click Start. This will will initialize and update the scanner engine. Check mark the box beside Remove found threats. Click the Scan button. This will start the scan. Please be patient while it is in progress. Restart your computer. ================================================ STEP 5 Click on Start > Programs > Accessories > System Tools and select System Restore. Choose the radio button marked Create a Restore Point on the first screen and click Next. Give the restore point a name then click Create. The new point will be stamped with the current date and time. Keep a note of this so you can find it easily should you need to use System Restore. Next, click on Start > Run, type Cleanmgr and click on OK. Click on the More Options tab. Click the Clean Up button in the System Restore section to remove all previous restore points except the most recent one. This will remove any infected files that have been backed up by Windows. The files in "System Restore" are protected to prevent any programs changing those files. This is the only foolproof way to ensure the deletion of those files. Note: Please don't use it on a regular basis as this will clear all previous restore points. The feature might be very useful to revert your computer to working condition if something goes wrong. Re-enable all your security applications and please return here and tell us how the computer seems to be operating.
