  1. You are so bad Doug. :p:p Beware the backlash. :p:p
  2. Wolfeymole brings up a good point. If you log out that will delete the cookie that is storing the AutoComplete information.
  3. The first thing I would look at is your AutoComplete settings. Go to Internet Options in the Control Panel and click on the Content tab. In the AutoComplete section click on the Settings button. If I'm not mistaken User names and passwords on forms needs to be checked. Make sure you click OK and Apply if needed then OK again.
  4. That's strange Dell says the Dimension C521 needs SIGMATEL STAC 92XX C-Major HD Audio. I don't know why you are showing the IDT High Definition Audio. When it comes time to reinstall the drivers you may need to look into that.
  5. Picture perfect Bob.
  6. Cheers to you mara.
  7. Shrimply may be onto something in post 5.
  8. Hi sleepy; Looking forward to seeing you as a regular here.
  9. Hello; Have you checked your screensaver options? Can you let us know what they are? Right click on the desktop and click Personalize to see the options. To set the display options double click Power Options in the Classic View of the control panel.
  10. Hi Diurno; Glad you could make it.
  11. Just in case you need it. Nero 6 CleanTool Nero 7 CleanTool These will completely uninstall both versions.
  12. I know it is of little consolation but it had a rich and full life.
  13. If the installation didn't complete you should remove the printer from "Printers" in the control panel and uninstall any other programs that did install from "Programs and Features" in the control panel. After that you could try it again or just install the basic drivers to see if that works.
  14. Freyja you already have Internet Explorer 7 so don't worry about that. Concentrate on removing any toolbars if you have them as Tootech said above. If you are showing that you need Windows updates especially imortant or critical ones then your computer may have been running at risk and exposed to infections. You should install those. Also you may have a virus that affects IE so I suggest running the following programs. Your computer could be infected with Malware. Malware is software designed to infiltrate or damage a computer system without the owner's informed consent. It is a combination of the words malicious and software. The expression is a general term used by computer professionals to mean a variety of forms of hostile, intrusive, or annoying software or program code. The reason to run multiple scanners is to ensure that no single scanner is missing something. The time it takes will vary depending on your system and your internet connection speed. Typically the SUPERAntiSpyware and Malwarebytes scanners will take between 10 to 90 minutes. The ESET online scan should take between 1 to 3 hours. In most cases, these scans will suffice to clean and disinfect your computer. Heavily infected systems or slower PCs can take much longer to scan and clean. 15. It looks like the exe file for the latest data base can be downloaded from their site. Download Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware Database - GT500.org
  16. Bob from what I see you have google everything. I can't pretend to know what all of google you have or what you want to bypass your firewall. You need to change your settings there to allow the apps you want to access the internet. The green checks are allowed. The red X's are blocked. The question marks are for to ask everytime. Personally I would uninstall all google applications and just check your mail via a direct link to it. The Google Chrome browser is set to ask. It's not a good one anyway in my opinion. Time to clean house of all this stuff if you ask me.
  17. To allow blocked programs in ZA open ZA and click Programs Control tab. Next click the Programs tab. Change to allow or deny the Google program.
  18. It appears from your signature that you may have Zonealarm for a firewall. Bob are you using Google Desktop Search or Toolbar? It's been known to be problematic and no real reason to have these addons.
  19. Your computer is infected with Malware. Please follow this guide. If SAS won't run in normal mode run it from safe mode. The same with Malwarebytes. 20. Use task manager to open a new task from file. Input "rstrui.exe" without the quotes. Keep in in mind I am using Vista not XP.
  21. Hi mikey; You need to go to add/remove programs in the control panel and uninstall anything that looks remotely like MyWeb. Search engines, toolbars, smilies etc. first. After that scan again and all should be well.
  22. Hi jember; What software did you install? Did you uninstall it? Did the problem surface after the install or the uninstall? If you haven't already I suggest to uninstall this software before running the fix. Remove the device from device manager. Reboot. Also since this is a recent event consider a system restore.
  23. What do you mean it didn't work? Did you run all the scans? Did they find anything? If so what did they find? If so did they remove the infections? Based on this thread and a previous thread I fail to see the need for all these download managers and you keep getting reoccuring infections. If the guide didn't help then I suggest to remove all the uneeded crap before running the scans again. 1. Dump the download managers. All of them. 2. Dump all games, movies, songs, software or screensavers you downloaded. 3. Dump any programs that have screensavers attached to them. Webshots for instance if you have it. 4. Dump your torrent programs and keep them off for good. 5. After all that update all the programs from our guide and scan with all of them again. It is obvious where your problems come from. There is no alternative to keeping your system clean. Unsafe habits will only lead you astray again. By the way what AV do you have? We see a lot of infections due to a lack of one or a poor one. For instance we do not recommend AVG. But an AV alone will not help.
  24. Well that's just horrible news. One of my all time favorite sites.
  25. Now this is some funny stuff.
