  1. Hello Windows, After all, I have to say that I'm sorry if I did post my thread on the right category, because I couldn't find the right one :/ My trouble is : Since 5 months now, I have a weird input lag with all my peripherals (mouse, controller, graphic tablet...) It feels like the ms are like 100-200, it's not very noticable but when playing games, this ruin the gameplay, playing with a demi second is horrible and I would say, unplayable. I have to say that before, it was fine and my peripherals were responsive.. Here what I did : So what I did, is that I built a complet new pc (new cpu / new gpu / new psu / new motherboard / new hdd / new hdmi cable, new monitor with higher refresh rate (from 60 to 144hz) and the lag still persist (new display port cable also)) The things that I haven't changed are (ram, but I sent them to the manufacters and they told me they were fine / cd reader / mouse / controller / keyboard) The temperature are fine. And all the recent drivers are installed. (even did a ddu clean install) Finally I reinstalled Windows 3-4 times. I also have to say that the input lag/delay occur on the BIOS. And this is not an electricity problem since I moved to another place and the lag is till there. And the input lag still persist... ! :( Specs : GTX1070Ti 8gb Vram I5-8600K 3.6Ghz (turbo 4.5) [CPU cooler : Pure Rock bequiet!] 16GB ram (4x4) ddr4 3000mhz Z370 hd3 750W Cooler master 80+ bronze monitor : Acer 144Hz 1ms (displayport) mouse : G502 logitech keyboard : K120 logitech controller : xbox one controller Yes I did try with and without gpu, with another one, etc. Same for mouse and keyboard. I really don't think that the peripherals are the problems. I plugged my peripherals directly in my new motherbard and I still feels the delay... Please help me :((( For me windows 10 is the problem, that's the only thing I haven't changed (problem occured since march 2018) More...
  2. Dear, (I am moving this from answers.microsoft.com because I did not get any substantial help from there) I use EFS and enabled encryption on the OneDrive local folder. It always worked as expected: if I create a file on the folder it is locally encrypted and uploaded successfully to OneDrive cloud (unencrypted, of course), if I create a file in another machine and upload to OneDrive cloud it is downloaded and then locally encrypted. But some time ago downloaded files stopped being encrypted! So I have an EFS enabled folder... with some unencrypted files in it! I?m currently using 18.166.0816.0005 (18.131.0701.0004 in the original question) but previous versions had the same behavior... I would say the versions in use by the beginning of the year were working as expected, but that is a guess. Folders \AppData\Local\OneDrive \AppData\Local\Microsoft\spw are encrypted as well, among others. Same version in another machine is OK. Many thanks for your kindly help! More...
  3. OK before any jumps on me for this issue let me explain the full scenario as I know there are other postings about greyed out apps but I believe my scenario is different. For our computers we do not allow users access to the internet. We have had windows 10 for about 1 year. recently we have been getting a lot of calls that calculator and sticky notes are no longer working. When I investigated I found that shortcuts were greyed out and when you click on them it gave an error to go to windows store. If I were to login with internet access the app works just fine until I log off and they log back in. I am trying to figure out why it took nearly 10 months for this issue to start to show up for us. Was there a windows update that changed these settings? Does anyone know how to fix this with granting user internet access to the store. All the post I have seen deal with this issue but with people that have internet access and it is not working. More...

  6. We have some language packs we need to add post-OSD. I have tried installing via DISM and using lpksetup. Both go to completion, and running "DISM /online /get-intl" shows all the packs installed using both methods, but none of the new packs show up in Region & Language, nor are they available through the language bar, even after a reboot. Am I possibly missing a step in the process in order to make the language packs usable? Thanks, Brian More...
  7. Ok, I'm probably not the first person to ask about this. Why on earth, can I not see any of my connected network printers under 'Devices and Printers' of Windows 8? The devices are without question, 100% connected and registered with the OS, as evidenced from their presence within the 'Print Queues' section of Device Manager, and various software packages, when accessing the 'Print' dialog. I can't even find any evidence of the printers within Print Management! What is going on? More...

  9. Just reimaged to Windows 8.1 the other day and now I can't see any of my mapped network drives when I go to File/Open from some programs. When I go to Open I only see my local drives but no network drives. This is not happening in all programs but is happening in some. Most recently I'm trying to use the Windows 7 USB creation tool thing and can only see my local drive but it's happened in a few other programs as well. Anyone know what might cause this? I can browse to the drives just fine and some programs can list them normally. Very strange. More...

  15. I am using GP user preferences to create shortcuts on my users' desktops. On all my Vista/Win7 machines they are fine and the icons are what I set them to be. on all my Win8 machines the icon is just a blank white square. If I right-click and view the icon, the correct image appears. But when the user is looking at the desktop the image is blank. I have upgraded a couple machines, scratch built one, and purchased an OEM version on a new laptop. All are the same: blank shortcut icons. Surely I'm not the only person testing Win8 in a domain environment, right? More...

  22. I'm trying to install .NET framework 3.5 on Windows 8, and I'm getting the error: "The system cannot move the file to a different disk drive." and "Error code: 0x80070011" First off, here's my setup: I have a 64GB SSD hosting my OS. I have C:\Windows\WinSxS, C:\Users, C:\Program Files, and C:\Program Files (x86) all symlinked to a mechanical storage drive - This is to save space on my SSD, and still gain the benefits of boot times as well as some performance increase. I realize this is not a recommended setup - however, this is how I have it set up, and this is how I want to keep it set up. I feel that at this point, I should be able to install any software as I like, wherever I like. I shouldn't be forced to install things in one specific spot, taking up extra space on my very small hard disk. How can I override this error, or force the framework to install to another location? Thanks for your help! More...

When I click on it i get an error as shown in the image. What is this drive, why does it show up when it didn't before and why can't i access it?
