My fellow IT techs! After the last update - or so the user states - Some files from her desktop gone missing. The problem is, that she noticed it after 4 days of use. The weird thing is that i have used numerous data restore utilities, getdataback and such, but there is no trace that they even existed, not a partial file, not a delete log, nothing. I have the drive disconnected so it is not i use anymore. There are some files, from which there is no backup I have heard some data loss with windows 10 update, but thats windows 10. I'm using a laptop with windows 8.1 pro. The user is logged in to the domain with restricted access. The problem is that whenever i try to run a program as admin, i don't see the login window (that usually pops out in such cases). Running as admin does nothing. Also if i try to change some settings (network,printers etc) i get a message that i can't have access (without the option of logging in as admin) I need to log out and login as admin so that i can work and that is frustrating and time consuming. That doesn't happen in other machines that are joined to the domain. How can i solve this problem? More...

Hi All, I have been looking on the internet but can't find anything useful. I protected data on my USB flash drive using Bitlocker in Windows. But of course I can't access it inside Apple OS X operating system. Yes I have a Windows VM running inside my MacBook and can access bitlocked flash drive this way, but this requires booting up Window VM and becomes frustrating most of the time. Does anyone know any possible way to access bitlocked flash drive directly inside OS X? If the answer is "No", then my request to Microsoft is to please make a Bitlocker Reader/Access tool for Mac OS X and make everyone's life easy. After loading the Via Audio HD Driver the Vdeck.exe file fails. I get an error message saying the driver is not compatible with Windows 10 64bit. How would I fix this. Hello. So I am the administrator of a small lab domain. I have a Microsoft 365 Enterprise E3 license connected to a user in my domain and I would like to upgrade this users computer from Windows 10 Pro to Windows 10 Enterprise using the E3 license (Since Windows 10 Enterprise is supposed to be a part of this license). I have been on the phone with Microsoft and gotten no help what so ever. It seems like you can use System Center to do this, but this isn't an option. Also Autopilot apparently works, but how? Stopping Windows Error Reports Repeating in the Event Log when System has no network access In Windows 10 I am seeing a change in the behaviour of WER over previous versions when the PC has no access to the internet so cannot contact the WER logging site. In older versions of Windows the WER event log entry occurred once in the Event Log when viewed using Event Viewer. In Win 10 the WER event log entries repeat themselves every 20 or so minutes until they are removed from the Problem Reports list. I have tried changing some of the registry settings from https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/desktop/wer/wer-settings but have only managed to prevent the entry ever being logged which is not the behaviour I am after. Hi, I need your help please about an issue I had with Windows 10 LTSB when it comes to applying the Removable Storage GPO. We are pushing to disable Removable storage into all the computers inside our network. We applied the GPO across the network and Windows 10 Pro computers and Windows 7 computers implemented the policy without issues. However, Windows 10 LTSB workstations applies the GPO but removable storage doesn't get blocked. Some domain users get "user profile service failed" when trying to login after October Windows update Some of my domain users can't logon on any upgraded Win10 pro machine, whilst other users can logon to the upgraded machine fine. they see the error - windows couldn't connect to the user profile service service. There accounts can also not logon to other upgraded machines - they see the same error on other machines too. I have recently reloaded from a WDS image a Surface 4 to Win 10 LTSB (1609). I cannot get the touch cover to respond, both keyboard and touchpad. I have installed the latest firmware for this edition of Windows "SurfacePro4_Win10_14393_1708001_0" which installs successfully. In device data-gr-id="20" id="20">manager there are no missing devices and are also none that are marked as having a problem. I have tested this on 3 separate devices (all Surface Pro 4) and none of them work after being reloaded. Does anyone have any ideas on how I can troubleshoot further or even resolve the issue? Starting on 02 Oct I've become unable to connect to my office VPN using Sonicwall NetExtender. On this date, I started seeing Event 20027 (Remote Access Connection Manager failed to start because NDISWAN could not be opened.) in Windows System events. Every time I try to connect to the VPN the NetExtender application disconnects with an error message the references the Windows Remote Access Service encountering an error. I have opened a ticket with Sonicwall to see if they can run down this issue on their end, but I feel like this is a Windows issue that I really don't know how to begin to troubleshoot. Hi Guys, I am trying to copy files from a Network location to a local folder using Powershell scripting. The very strange thing is, when I run this script via Powershell ISE it working fine. But when i run this script via Windows Task Scheduler from the same machine, it is unable to copy files. It is even unable to see the files in the network drive. Eg: when i run this command via Windows Task-scheduler, i.e. $(ls $(Network_Location_Name) | Measure-Object -Property Length -Sum).Count | outfile FileName.log, the result is ZERO ! Hi all, we are 100% sure that if you update workstations to 1809 your profle redirection will create new folder on the remote server which name will be %username% literally. If you have just like we 300+ workstations the first user is the winner. The rest will get an info that their remote profile could not be created. This totaly wierd since this setting was working for years for us and moreover even in group policy microsoft advice you to use %username% to create unique folder name for each user.
