Just click on the paperclip or go to manage attachments below the post box and follow the directions to upload. If the jpeg is not working try using "paint" in your accessory programs.

Help! I've deleted sounds from my pc
BeeCeeBee replied to ari's topic in Tech Support & Discussions Forum
Ok go to your program files and select Accessories. Under that group select "system Tools" and from the list select "System Restore." A window will appear, select "restore my computer to and earlier time." You will see a calender. Just select a bold date prior to when the problem arose and click next. Simply follow the directions to restart the computer when prompted. Hopefully whatever you deleted will be up and running on restart. Let us know. -
Comp resets and i get the Serious Error message!
BeeCeeBee replied to Senna_s1979's topic in Tech Support & Discussions Forum
I am not sure what this has to do with your problem. The scan by Crucial is generally used for memory upgrades. It there some reason you chose that scan and what, if anything, else have you done recently in an effort to correct this issue. We have a number of people who may be able to help figure this out as they come on line. If there is anything more that needs telling please do so now. :) -

Have you rebooted your computer since this occurred ari? If not please do so now and let us know if you still have a problem. If you have, or once you have, try doing a system restore to a point before you uninstalled or deleted whatever you did. If you do not know how to do a system restore please post back. -
Odd pixels during video playback/graphics (images)

When does this occur tidy max? I am not sure whether this is related to a specific program that you are using or just a general problem (on your desktop for example.) Please be as specific as you can be. -

Motherboard or CPU Problem?
BeeCeeBee replied to Delapidated1's topic in Tech Support & Discussions Forum
There is no point in telling you what you already have found out the hard way. It is possible that a single broken pin will not effect the operation of your pc. It is also possible that it was essential and nothing will operate properly. I have seen some tricks elsewhere regarding broken pins, have evaluated them and decided that they pack more dangers than hope for success. I certainly am not going to suggest something that will wind up costing you a motherboard as well. I would wait for a real hardware expert like Tootech or Dalo Harkin to reply before you try anything other than purchasing a new CPU. If there is a safe way to try and correct the problem, they will know it. I also believe that DirtyPolo has some experience with pins. CPUs should seat easily with very minimal resitance. If you have to force them at all you are probably bending pins. If you already have bent pins and the CPU is offering resistance, you have not straightened them enough. Heatsink paste is essential to avoid overheating and should be applied in very small amounts. -
While the formula I gave you is know to be proper for XP, I was not as sure for Vista but the consensus from my research seems to indicate that it is the same. Has your main problem been solved??
-
I suspect that your operating system has already been removed from your hard drive. If that is the case you may need to use an old stye PS2 connected keyboard for it to be recognised. A USB keyboard with a PS2 adapter may not be recognised either.

What is the status of your system right now? Can you get into windows if you just let it boot normally?

Sent you a PM Rudy hope that will clear things up! Welcome!:)

Looking back on some of your posts, Aldin, it does seem that you have run into your fair share of possible infection issues. I am not going to even try to guess what the initial source of the movie may have been, but, it certainly did not originate on a flash drive. Did you scan the drive before your began the movie? I would suggest that you do a compete disinfection of the pc using then process described below. If you have issues with a normal boot or internet access read this first. http://extremetechsupport.com/forum/malware-removal-av-firewalls-etc/5629-malware-disinfection-limited-no-internet-access.html Once you have completed this process please come back and let us know what, if any, problems need to be sorted. Your computer appears to be infected with Malware. Malware is software designed to infiltrate or damage a computer system without the owner's informed consent. It is a combination of the words malicious and software. The expression is a general term used by computer professionals to mean a variety of forms of hostile, intrusive, or annoying software or program code. It is in your best interest to note the following: Please disable your resident security applications (such as AVG, Spybot, WinPatrol, etc.) before performing the below procedure so that they do not interfere with the process. Perform all the steps in the order listed to avoid any conflicts. If unsure, please stop and voice your doubts. You might be required to go offline during the disinfection process. Therefore, it is recommended to print off the instructions below for ease of reference. If you stick to the above guidelines, all should go smoothly. ================================================ STEP 1 Download ATF-Cleaner by Atribune. Save the file to your Desktop. Next, click on Start > Run, type Cleanmgr and click on OK. Click on the More Options tab. Click the Clean Up button in the System Restore section to remove all previous restore points except the most recent one. This will remove any infected files that have been backed up by Windows. Note: Please don't use it on a regular basis as this will clear all previous restore points. The feature might be very useful to revert your computer to working condition if something goes wrong. Re-enable all your security applications and please return here and tell us how the computer seems to be operating. With regard to page file settings the minimum or initial size should be 1.5 X your RAM. In your case approximately 3000. The 3067 therefore seems to be the correct setting based on what is being recognised by your system. The maximum size is 3 X Ram or, double the initial setting. It may not solve your curent problem if you set to the recommended sizes but it should improve overall speed and efficiency.

I can tell you how to get where they want you to be but not what they are telling you to do once you find it. To get to your wireless settings the easiest way is to right click on the little monitor icon in your system tray (bottom left on the task bar near to the clock) then select open network connections. (Not view available networks) You should see both your wireless and your LAN connection if you have a wireless card, etc.)

Monitor display input problems
BeeCeeBee replied to jet0703's topic in Tech Support & Discussions Forum
The problem with that jet is that you were asked to choose vga mode not normal startup. Tootech Choosing start windows normally is only the long way around to what you do each time you start the PC. Please try again and do not choose normal start choose VGA. On the outside chance that the vga mode does not appear, select safe mode and follow the same instructions as with vga. -
Some people are concerned about retaining their favorites and email (if they use an email client such as Outlook Express.) If your email is web based that is not an issue. You only need the data regarding your iTunes. (Stored Music etc.) You can install the program later. If there is something that you want saved that is not obvious (the contents of "My Docs" being obvious. Just ask how to go about it and we will help.

Believe me Roger it is not the length of the thread it is the prospect of finding a solution that is always the primary concern. The good news is that you seem to have all that is needed for a clean recovery if it comes to that. Regardless of how we proceed, have you backed up everything that you may want to retain and, if so, how did you do it. Once we are confident that you have everything you want the rest becomes less daunting.
-
Roger after 43 posts it seems that either you have a real problem with hardware failure or your windows has been corrupted in some way and you will need to try to restore your system back to factory settings. I would suggest that your most immediate concern is to make certain that all of your data is backed up to some external media (hard drive, dvds, etc.) It would also be helpful if you let us know what discs you have that came with your laptop. Once this is all done we can try to format and recover your machine back to factory settings. At very least that will confirm a hardware problem. If, on the other hand, it is not a hardware problem, this should get things up and running again.

Monitor display input problems
BeeCeeBee replied to jet0703's topic in Tech Support & Discussions Forum
If I read this correctly you DO get the windows page? Is that right. When you say "no luck" does that mean you can not get the advanced startup options page or that it didn't work? If you could not reach the page you may be doing it wrong. Start the computer and start tapping F8 as soon as the initial screen starts to come on. Try tapping not holding the key. Sometimes if you start doing this too late it will not work. Try again tapping earlier. -

Monitor display input problems

Because of the hour I will not wait for an answer to the questions above and work on the assumption that this is a simple matter of adjusting your screen resolution. On your desktop just right click anywhere that has no icon and then click properties. A window will appear. Click the settings tab and adjust the resolution slider to 1024x768. -

Hello Jet, I take the monitor is working to some extent. Do you get this message only when you are trying to play a video? What is the size of the monitor? What is the operating system for the machine? XP or Vista and which version (home etc.) Is the monitor wide screen or "normal?"
