  1. Well I, for one, am not going to dispute that :)
  2. Try the methods listed above first - sanding down is rather drastic ......last resort :)
  3. Story of my life - other people's cast-offs :) Re Permanent Marker ---------removal. Try a pencil eraser - but only on the marker ink. Also try Toothpaste on a clean cloth. Rub gently. You could try nail varnish remover - you will have to be very careful with this. After you have got rid of the marks you need to re-oil the surface.
  4. Here's wishing you a very Happy Birthday Charlie :) ( This is all you are getting ...........I ate the rest !! ) http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7240/6882155122_2a80efc85a_z.jpg
  5. Hi and welcome to ExTS Have you followed the steps here? click here
  6. Hi I am on my second Acer laptop - the first one is still going strong after 5 or 6 years. I have Googled that specific machine and at that price it looks like a bargain. The cheapest I found it was £549 You don't say which CPU ..........they seem to come with i5 or i7 ............i7 obviously ups the price. I am working on a V3-571 at the moment ........... no problems. It is new at that price - not refurbished ? Review here click here
  7. Hi and welcome to ExTS Start > Run .... type in ....devmgmt.msc .....ENTER Click the + next to CDROM Drive Are there any yellow exclamation marks ? Right click on your device > uninstall Restart the computer. This will then cause Windows to detect "New Hardware" and re-install the software drivers.
  8. Hang on for one of the other guys to put their thoughts down :) The system requirements for GW2 are here: click here The HD7750 would cope well. You should get high / ultra settings. Try the "Can I Run It" and put in the details.
  9. Hi and welcome to ExTS I am not a gamer and you really should wait for one of our moderators / members who is able to advise you better. However ..... The E-Bay link to the system for £397 I doubt if this was ever £737 with a HD7750 Video Card in. You can pick this card up for £80 ! It is a good card - but not a high-end gaming card in my opinion. The HD6570 is worse. You can pick this up for £50. Stay away from this one at £402 - I doubt it would cope with modern games. HD6450 - £35 Again not a high-end gaming Video Card. Based on the cards alone - it looks like the £397 system is the best of the three. You really need one of our gaming experts to jump in here. :)
  10. Hi and welcome to ExTS Which MS Office version do you have installed ? Do you have the installation disk to hand ? Did this installation ever work ? Can you explain in a bit more detail please? Are you getting an "error" message or pop-up ?
  11. Hi and welcome to ExTS :) It would help if you could let us know which email provider you are using.
  12. That is good to hear :)
  13. They have done this because they know full well that the machine they supplied had an illegal OS !! They also know that they could get kicked off E-Bay. In addition Microsoft take a very dim view of commercial suppliers selling systems with an illegal OS. They invariably prosecute. The supplier has far more to lose than you. If you send it back make sure that you remove everything off the hard drive that is personal to you. You should send it back and get your hard-earned cash back. After you get your cash I would inform E-Bay. These guys will continue selling illegal software if somebody doesn't stop them.
  14. Hi, have you taken the heatsink and fan off the CPU ? If so - you need to clean both surfaces of the old thermal paste and apply new. ( please ask if unsure ) I assume that you get no POST beeps ? Take a look here: click here This will walk you through the checking process. Follow it carefully :) This could be HEAT as well. Check inside the case for dust - especially the fans and vents. Try running the system with the side panel off. Do you get any further with the boot process now ?
  15. That is good to hear :) I have been away for 4 days - hence the late reply.
  16. Bob makes a good point. If it isn't broken then there is no need to fix it. :)
  17. Hi sorry for the late response - I have been away for 4 days. Start ....type in ....devmgmt.msc .....ENTER Click the > next to Network Adapters. What is listed? Any yellow exclamation marks ? Use the cable to connect and right click on the Wireless Adapter > update drivers Let Windows do this automatically.
  18. Sorry for the slow response - I have been away for 4 days. Do you now have IE10 installed with no problems ?
  19. Hi Sorry for the delay in replying - I have been away for 4 days. Please confirm that you now have a working system. I suspect that you have a few problem sectors on your original hard drive :(
  20. Will this do ?? :) http://www.emofaces.com/en/smilies/f/fingers-crossed-smile.gif Let us know how the rest goes :)
  21. Hi If you want IE10 click below: click here Select the English option. Not if you don't want to. :)
  22. Hi and welcome to ExTS Try turning your firewall off - then try connecting again.
  23. Hi Jim Sorry nobody was around to answer your earlier questions - but it seems that you sorted it yourself :) Looking good so far :)
  24. Hi Charles It depends on which version of Excel you are using ...... what I think has happened is that you have "Automatically Insert Decimal Point" checked. On my 2010 version ... Open Excel > Click on File ( top left ) > Options > Advanced You should be able to un-check it there.
