  1. Hi Ray There is no reason why you cannot do both. You can partition the drive ( easily ) into 2 partitions. ( more if you wish ) You could use a 60GB partition to store images of your drive and the other partition for backups of photos / files etc. The benefit of having an image of your drive is that it will enable you to restore the Operating System and the drive itself to exactly where it was on the day that you created the image. It is ideal if you don't have an installation disk. Creating an image does take time ( possibly a couple of hours in total ) - but if you don't have an installation disk it is worth it.
  2. You were not subscribing to auto Thread Notification - I have made the alteration - hopefully you will get emails now :)
  3. Thanks for the feedback. Good luck with the new system :)
  4. Google is a wonderful facility :)
  5. Hi Tino If the supplier says that it should not be write protected I would take him up on his offer to replace it. It is obviously faulty.
  6. Hi again You manual is here click here The page you want is 55 Change the channel from the default. If it is set to 11 change it to 7 - not 10 as this would be too close. To access your router software (Thompson Gateway GUI ) do the following open Internet Explorer and where you see http:\\www. -------- highlight this and type in ....192.168.1.254 then hit ENTER If you have a username and password enter these.
  7. Hi Sue Get back to us when your brain has had a rest :)
  8. Hi and welcome to ExTS synapse - one of our moderators - is probably best suited to advise here. Until he logs in ........ This concerns me. Why would you find it necessary to update the BIOS on a new motherboard ? 2 beeps could be system memory or motherboard problems. Try running on just one module - if no improvement - try the other by itself
  9. In addition to shrimply's link I found this that may be worth a try: click here
  10. Hi Sue Are you using "relative" hyperlinks - the other option is "absolute" I understand ? See here: http://en.allexperts.com/q/Microsoft-Word-1058/2008/1/Hyperlinking-Documents.htm
  11. You can change the channel on which the router broadcasts. This will probably solve your problem for you. Posts the make and model number of the router if you wish to try this.
  12. Hi Ray I originally said .... meaning the installation disk - which we would need for a repair. Try Revo Uninstaller to remove Outlook (you want the free version - scroll down the page ) http://www.revouninstaller.com/revo_uninstaller_free_download.html If you need advice on how to use it just shout.
  13. Hi Sue I assume from your last post that I can mark this up as "Solved" ? Happy to be of assistance :)
  14. Nearly there :) Take a look here - ( I know it is Word 2007 but often 2007 and 2010 are similar ) http://www.ehow.com/how_5883064_convert-word-pdf-hyperlinks.html I don't have a lot of time at the moment - will pick this up tomorrow.
  15. Hi and welcome to ExTS We don't charge for our assistance. This is why - of course - that you cannot complete your assignment. What you are proposing is immoral. You want to pay somebody else to help you pass your exam. Surely your tutors would know that you had not attended the programming lessons - and then you come up with a perfect solution to the assignment. Very suspicious !! I suggest that you do what the other students on the course have done - do the work yourself ! This thread is closed.
  16. Hi Sue I am no expert on Word - although I do have your version and the full version of Office 2010 I found this that is slightly different to what you have suggested above: Save the document. Select the text or the image that you want to use as the destination for the hyperlink. Click the Insert tab. In the Links group, click Bookmark. In the Bookmark name box, type a unique name for the bookmark, and then click Add. Move the insertion point to the location in the document where you want to create the hyperlink. Click Hyperlink in the Links group. Click Bookmark. In the Select Place in Document dialog box, select the bookmark that you want to use as the destination hyperlink, and then click OK. Click OK to close the Insert Hyperlink dialog box. It was also suggested that you need to save it to disk without putting it in folders after the hyperlinks had been added. From what I have read it is possible :) Get back to us if this doesn't help.
  17. Hi Ray If you are unsure it is always best to block access. Run Malwarebytes and post the log.
  18. Hi and welcome to ExTS Download MBAM from here: click here Install > Update and then run it. It will produce a log in Notepad Copy this and paste it here please.
  19. Hi Sue and welcome to ExTS How are you creating the links? By highlighting the word > "Insert" > hyperlink > and then pasting the link into the box ? Which version of Word are you using ?
  20. What appears to be a "simple" problem does not necessarily mean there is a simple fix. You and 3 or 4 of the team here spent some considerable time looking for a solution to this one and didn't find a "simple" one. If you find the "less dramatic fix" - let us know.
  21. Hi and welcome to ExTS I have seen something similar before - and it turned out to be a faulty ethernet cable. Do you have a spare that you could try ?
  22. Great news. I really thought that you would have problems with that download. We have all learned something today :)
  23. I would be interested to hear the result. If it works it is certainly another option.
  24. Hi, Thanks for the feedback - good to know that your system is now running OK. You must hold the record for the longest time between posts on the same thread ........... May 2010 to July 2012 :)
  25. Those temperatures are OK. It looks like you need to try a different PSU.
