1. Looks like it could be. Do you have an old PSU to try - it doesn't have to be the same wattage. Try it using the on-board graphics - leave your Video Card out for the time being.
2. Take a look here - click here The answer to your question is - No - but the link will tell you if your email address is associated with an account.
3. It could be a fault with the HDMI cable. Are you getting power to the motherboard? Are fans turning? If you have a volt-meter check the PSU output at the connection to the motherboard.
4. Do you mean a Google Account ? [ you already have a gmail address ] If you tried the link I sent you via PM and that didn't work it must be the fact that you don't have a Google account. I can't think of another way around it Jim.:(
5. Hi and welcome to ExTS Do you have another video card - an old one - that you can try ? If so - swap them over. Do you have on-board video that you can try ?
6. Hi Jim I managed to access your email [ I didn't open any :) ] and I now have it on my tabs along the top of SRWare Iron. [ I will delete this when we have finished ] I logged into my Gmail account normally. At the right top corner should be a circle with a letter in [ mine is blue with a "K" ] I clicked on this and selected " Add an Account" I put your details in here. Then I could access your email from my own by clicking on the circle [ top right ] and selecting your account. I have 2 of my own accounts registered - and yours made 3 The original link you gave me confused me at first as it was exactly the same as my own. Looking more closely there is a small difference between the links for my 3 accounts [ this includes your email ] Everything remains the same except the /u/0 ......this changes to ...../u/1 ........and u/2 for your email account. Your URL will show ........ /mail/u/0/#inbox ...... as you do not have any other accounts associated with your Gmail on YOUR computer. Gmail must use your IP Address as an identifier for your account However - I think I have come up with a solution .....just testing it now .....get back to you. ======================== EDIT. This works for me - give it a try. I have sent you a PM with the complete URL. Open SRWare Iron and click on the three bars top right corner. Click on "Settings" Under "On Start-up" make sure that the third option "Open a specific page or set of pages" is checked. Click on "Set pages" Copy the URL I sent you and paste it into the box where it says "add a new page" Click OK Now close SRWare Iron and re-open it again. Hopefully you should have a link to your email account. If you get the re-direct after this I can only assume that you need a Google account for it to work. :( ======================== I have removed your email association with my account. I can no longer access your emails without logging in with your password. I advise you to change this again [ not that I would access your mail :) ]
7. Let's see what BT have to say Neil :)
8. Hi Neil, Do you have BT Homeplugs [ range extenders ] fitted. If so - Unplug them and try accessing the Home Hub again using 192.168.1.254 If no go - unplug the Home Hub and let it re-boot. Try again.
9. Hi Neil, My sister works for BT and has done for many years. She agrees with you - they are an awful company. Their staff are stressed out and are constantly told that they are under-performing. In your situation - this would seem to be the case. 192.168.1.254 is what I get when I look this up. This is odd as this is a standard address to access the hub - which is nothing to do with the exchange. Out of interest - try 192.168.1.1 or 192.168.1.0 What happens when you type in 192.168.1.254 ? I assume that you have a wireless or wired connection to the hub that is working ?
10. Sorry I can't be of any more help - I don't have PowerISO so cannot trial it for you :(
11. Hi again, I have never had the need to edit ISO files so my advice may be somewhat limited. I assume that you have seen this on the PowerISO website ? click here
12. Progress :) Your printer has the driver software embedded into Windows - so the drivers would have been re-installed on a re-boot.. HP have a scan option to update drivers if there are newer ones available. click here If things are OK you may want to leave things as they are. Let me know how things are now.
13. Hi Jim, Is your email address the same as the one you use for here? m***y@******mail.*** You also sent me a password If this is correct I should be able to add you to my toolbar. If I can I promise not to look at your mail and I will delete it immediately afterwards. DO NOT write out complete email addresses here.
14. I don't think there is. Associated with the "New" option is a down arrow that gives further options [ rectangular etc ] If it went straight to the snipping tool these would be bypassed - along with various other options. I think you are stuck with it the way it is.
15. Hi Neil, Thanks for the PM - I sometimes need a bit of a kick start to get back into forum mode :) You said in your PM that the scans invariably hung on HP printer. Try installing Revo Uninstall [ FREE ] scroll down for the free version. click here You DON'T want the version from the "Other Downloads" box. After you install and run it - it will locate all installed software. Click on the HP Printer software and then select "Uninstall" from the toolbar. There are 3 options I think. The most indepth requires you to select items from the registry for deletion. Avoid this. Select the middle level. [ The default I think ] This will remove some registry entries. We are trying to remove as much of the installed software as possible without causing further problems. After the scan you will be faced with something like this: DO NOT tick any other boxes other than the last one that has HP software in it. [ in this one I am removing Revo Uninstaller Pro ] After the HP drivers have been removed try running your scan again. You will need to restart the computer to complete the removal process. We will need to locate the most up-to-date drivers for your printer.
16. Hi Jim Sorry I missed your last post. The break went well - weather was pretty poor [ there was a mini heatwave here !! ] I wasn't able to access your account from the link you sent. Are you still having problems ?
17. It is unlikely that illegal software will prevent internet access. It is more likely to be something else.
18. This is an odd post. A friend of a friend ?? Owner not telling the truth I have to ask why you are posting ? Please ask the friend of your friend to post so that we can get the full story.
19. I see you have asked this elsewhere [ Tom's Hardware ] Basroil replied and had obviously spent some time researching this for you and provided links to each component. Your reply I don't understand your statement. You seem to be getting help from AV Forums too. We are not gamers here so would find it difficult to make suggestions.
20. Hi and welcome to FreePCHelp :) Sorry for the slow response. This is not my particular area of expertise - but I will try to help as far as I can. The reason why your computer cannot play the DVD is that it is probably a regional problem. DVDs bought in USA probably have a region 1 code embedded which makes them unreadable on region 2 machines [ UK ] To play your USA DVD on your Win 10 machine [ I assume that this is a UK machine ? ] there are 2 options. Download VLC [ Free ] and install it. This is a media player software that will probably be able to get around the regional code [ it may take a little time ] click here The other option is to install "PassKey Lite" click here This should automatically bypass the regional code allowing you to play the DVD Again you want the Free version. You should be able to play the DVD on any media player software. I would install VLC anyway as it it a very good media player. [ I have it ] You may have to right click on the DVD and select "Run With" then select "VLC" otherwise it may default to Windows Media Player Let's see if this allows you to play the DVD and then we can move onto your next question :)
21. Hi Bobby - and welcome to ExTS Sorry for the slow reply. "Screen weird ..." Are the colours distorted ? Has the machine been dropped ? Laptop or desktop ?
22. Hi BJ If the mouse is a problem - and you are intending getting a new one [ £8 is not a lot ] I would give it a go. [ wait for it to play up again ] Nothing lost :) You can get a can of compressed air - but this just adds to the expense :)
23. addy = address ? Jim - if you trust me to try your email URL on my system send it to me via PM. DO NOT post it here. I promise not to access / open any of your emails and will delete the address immediately after I have tested it. Chances are I will need to use a password anyway [ DO NOT post or send this ] as I will not have a cookie on my system. If you don't wish to do this I completely understand. I just want to see if your email URL address stays in "Open a Specific Page " [ I am away for a week as from early tomorrow morning :) ]
24. Click on the image above Jim - it will enlarge. If you have a scroll mouse - hold CTRL down and use the mouse wheel ......this will enlarge it too :) Does the URL show up in "Open a Specific Page" ?
