  1. Hi Bit late with this reply but it may help others ........ In addition to what Starbuck has said: The M$ Office package comes at a cost [ very expensive if it isn't on your system already] There is a totally free option [ not a trial version ] - Open Office. This is absolutely free and is compatible with MS Word etc. Available here - click here Download the full installation Just one thing to remember: If you are using the "Word" [ text ] option and you need to open the saved version with a Microsoft version you will need to select this when saving. Microsoft uses a .doc or .docx extension Open Office saves by default to .odt This sounds complicated - but it isn't. There is a down-arrow that you click when you have named the file and then you select Microsoft Word 97 / 2000 Simple as that.
  2. Hi Joddle, If no device can access the site I wounder if this is IP Address related. Ask your colleagues to firstly find their IP Address. Simply Google "what is my ip address" - it will come up on screen. Make a note of this. The easiest way to change the IP Address is to turn their router off for half an hour. Then switch back on. Check to see if IP Address has changed. If not - switch router off over night. Try again in the morning. Check that the IP Address is different. [ probably only the last 2 numbers will change ] Most IP Addresses are dynamic - in other words if you are not using it the ISP will re-allocate your old one. When you connect again you get allocated a new one. Let me know how this goes.
  3. Hi Joddle If the error occurs for any device then obviously it looks like a website/server problem. I am thinking that the individual accounts may be corrupt. Try asking one of the members to re-register with a different name and email address. [ Create a Gmail or similar address to test ]
  4. This tread is 4 years old Gary - I doubt that the OP will be following it now. Welcome to ExTS :)
  5. Hi Sorry for the slow response - I have been away for a few days. Technically you can mix different manufacturers as long as they are based on the same standard. There is no guarantee however - so consider buying all the same make just to be sure. The TP Link system that I have allows 500 Mb/s but the wireless extenders operate at 300 Mb/s - does this answer your question ? I use the system you describe for your lounge - wired to TV - it works well. I did read somewhere that if you have 2 ring mains this system will not work. [ just searched for this and cannot locate it again ] However, I do have two separate rings [ upstairs and downstairs ] and it works fine for me. I think I have a common earth [ ground ]
  6. Hi Sorry for the slow reply - I have been away for a few days. Try looking for a System Restore point that is prior to the start of your problem. Click on the Search icon [ bottom left of screen ] Type in .....restore .... "Create a Restore Point" will probably show up. Click on this. Then click on the "System Restore" box. [ Some Win 10 systems do not have "System Restore" enabled - let's hope yours is :) ] Follow the on-screen prompts. You can see more dates by clicking the box next to "Show More Restore Points"
  7. Hi and welcome to ExTS Sorry for the slow reply - I have been away for a few days. We cannot assist with passwords - sorry. If you built the machine surely you have the disk with the OS on it ? You can use this to re-install. If you take the Hard-Drive out and connect it up to another machine - can you access the disk ?
  8. Good to hear that you managed to get a spare. :)
  9. Hi, These are the Logitech spares that I could find click here You may need to check to see if your mouse is compatible. The part number I found for various mouse products is ......................... P/N 993-000439
  10. Hi, utils.dll seems to be linked with your Bluetooth Driver. Take a look here - click here - and download and install the Bluetooth Drivers for your system. You will need the exact model number [ Acer v5 is incomplete ..........something like Acer v5 171 to properly identify ] Let me know if this solves it for you.
  11. Thanks for the feedback. Good to hear that you managed to solve your problem :)
  12. I will mark this one up as "solved" - for the time being :)
  13. Hope it goes well Neil :) I will mark this as "solved" unless we hear from you :)
  14. Let us know how it goes :)
  15. I suspect that the System Restore may fix the problem for you. Any installed software / updates will be lost. Files / photos / data etc will be fine. You may wish to backup anything that is absolutely needed .....just in case.
  16. I should have messaged you Pete - sorry :)
  17. Boot up the system [ restart if you have to ] then do a system restore to a date just prior to the update. Reboot the machine. If it still has problems booting up it was just a coincidence - if it boots up ok then we can assume that the update was the cause :)
  18. I have seen on other forums that malware can cause this problem. If you have Malwarebytes on your system run this - just to be sure. click here for Malwarebytes [ you want the free version ]
  19. Sorry - I missed this :( Did you uninstall the old version first ? If not - I suggest that you uninstall Flash and re-install afresh. You can use RevoUninstaller to do this.
  20. Thanks for the update joddle - I am sure somebody will find this useful. :)
  21. Happy that it worked for you :)
  22. Hi and welcome to ExTS :) I have deleted your duplicate post :) I presume that you can see the "voice" file and have recovered it to your computer ? What is the file extension on the file you can't open? If you right click on the file > Properties ........what size is the file ? Which software did you use to recover your files ?
  23. Hi, Have you tried a different browser on the problem machine ?
