Is Windows Defender suppose to be ON and Running in-conjunction WITH Microsoft Security Essentials ? Or is Defender SUPPOSE to off. I read that Microsoft reported to a review of their anti-virus product, that Defender works WITH Essentials !! Can anyone clear this up for me ? Thanks. View this thread

I am using Windows 8 and since 2/27/2013 all Microsoft auto updates have failed. Presently, there are 17 updates available. I have tried to update manually to no avail. I do have internet connectivity. Please advise. View this thread

After Last night's (22 March 2013) Windows 7 updates went on to my PC, I found that I had a blank screen after sign-on (cursor only, which was active). This condtion persisted for about 10 minutes, then cleared. I unstalled all the updates (there were quite a few - 20 maybe). Reboot and all is fine again. Anyone else experiencing this? My update history for my Vista, Windows Update has disappeared, I recently had a problem which has since been fixed with my windows update. I do recall working in the CMD section of the start menu in one of the fixes I tried when update wasnt working. I would like to have the history back but guess my main concern is that I didn't "uninstall" these programs while trying to fix update, thanks. View this thread

i have set my computer to do daily updates at 3:00 a.m., it does not update until about 8:00 a.m. and then my wireless network goes out and after 20 minutes of troubleshooting, resetting, swearing, getting upset, it finally sets up - I believe it would be to my best interest to refuse all updates unless these updates will not interfere with my settings. Hello, tried to upate my Internet Explorer to IE10. Got the error message : Operating system is not supported - IE10 can only be installed on windows 7 service pack 1 or higher. I check to see what version i was running (Windows 7 version 6.1 Build 7.600) I have windows update set to automatic updates and its happily been updating for the last two years. Not sure why i dont have service pack 1 installed by can someone inform me how i go about getting it installed so I can update my IE to IE10. Ive accessed the windows download site ( http://www.microsoft.com/en-gb/download/details.aspx?id=5842 ) but there does seem alot of different versions to select and i would prefer to select the right one. Can someone please point me in the right direction. Also is there any reason why it has not downloaded it automatically? Could there be other important updates im missing? Just bought a Rabbit TV to see how it would work finding internet tv content. When I inserted the key into the USB port mircrosoft errored out and wouldn't allow the download form Rabbit. Microsoft Updater showed an optional update file a few days later. I tried twice to install update, but above error code showed up. After two times Microsoft updater moved the file to faile to install and will not allow me to try again. I would appreciate any answer to the error code or similiar issues with Rabbit TV. I have a ROKU box that works perfectly so imagine its an issue with using the key in the USB port. Thanks Mike View this thread
