Dont know what to do. I use a computer but I am not an expert. This never happened with Hotmail but this new and supposedly better system seems to have a lot of problems. The Spell Check Icon has dissapeared from the bar and I cannot find out how to get it back. Just bought a Rabbit TV to see how it would work finding internet tv content. When I inserted the key into the USB port mircrosoft errored out and wouldn't allow the download form Rabbit. Microsoft Updater showed an optional update file a few days later. I tried twice to install update, but above error code showed up. After two times Microsoft updater moved the file to faile to install and will not allow me to try again. I would appreciate any answer to the error code or similiar issues with Rabbit TV. I have a ROKU box that works perfectly so imagine its an issue with using the key in the USB port. Thanks Mike View this thread

Windows 7 keeps shutting down, particularly after Windows update and I am unable to start it other than in safe mode. I have tried last known good configuration which works for a while and then shuts down by itself. This has been happening since a couple months of after I installed this computer. Any ideas? I hope to find an answer to my problem. I recently decided to upgrade from XP to Windows 7 in order to avoid end of support for my system. After a few days I see there are over 90 "important update" listed in the "Control PanelSystem and SecurityWindows UpdateSelect updates to install". I selected the first dozen or so to install only to find that a "Fatal Error" occurred that caused me to completely re-install Windows 7 and SP1. I now discover that some of these updates are dependent on others. To sum it up, my question is this: Is there a concise listing of Windows 7 updates and their date-order? It can located in on the control panel dialog box, but it takes me to an HP Help & Support page which can't process the necessary Active X add ins. It will also attempt to open Windows update in Firefox. I copy and paste the URL into Internet Explorer 8. The response is that Internet Explorer 5 or grater must be used. I also can't locate Windows Update using the Run dialog box. Any suggestions will be appreciated. View this thread

When I shut my laptop down last night it installed updates. When I booted it back up this morning it went through the normal boot-up process allowing me to login, displayed the Windows logo, then went to a black screen with a window saying: Personalized Settings Setting up personalized settings for: Web Platform Customizations It appears to stay on this indefinitely (3+ hours so far). Moving the mouse over the 'Personalized Settings' window displays the circular 'wait' cursor (ust an arrow cursor on the black background), and I am able to move the window around; I am also able to start Task Manager, and reboot, but that's it. Rebooting doesn't fix the problem, it just keeps hanging at this window every time I try rebooting. Anybody else experience this problem or have a solution to fix it? View this thread

I took Java completely off of my computer when all the hype came out about it on the news a couple of months or so ago. I figured that they had what ever the problems where fixed so I would try it again. the new version #7 update 17 I believe. I have not had it on the computer two days and Microsoft Security Essentials picked up a Java/Exploit problem. I realize that someone is exploiting Java to gain access to your computer or whatever, and it is not actually Java that is doing whatever is being done. When does this end? I recently downloaded Microsoft Security Essentials, after having used AVG paid subcription for several years, and not renewing it now. I apparently have the oyodomo virus, because when I open a new tab, another tab opens as well with oyodomo.com/ etc., etc. in the address bar. Does anyone know if Microsoft has a removal tool for this virus, or a safe website to remove it? Thanks. View this thread

I have a Windows SBS 2011 x64 server that is apparently not allowing any Windows 7 pcs update. The units were previously giving errors stating that updates were managed by the server, and could not be updated manually. Automatic updates are not working either. I had gone ahead, and went into the Group Policy Manager on the server, and found that the windows 7 machines were not added to the Update Services Client Computers Policy. After I added the units, they are still not updating automatically, but you are able to get updates from the update website. Each time the unit fails to run Windows update it gets either error code 80072efd or 8024800a. Whenever any of these units are taken out of the environment, they will update without issue. i get Error number: 0x80244019 when i try to download updates for my xp. Have tried reinstalling form disc and it still doesn't work. Have run a chkdks and have no errors, also run a antivirus scan and that is clear too. Any help please. Thanks Terri View this thread
