I got this Trojan. I am running a full scan with Defender, and emptied my Temporary Internet Files. I read that you should uninstall Java to help prevent getting it again, but I need to have Java, so that is not a help. I followed the instructions on this webpage to remove it: http://www.microsoft.com/security/portal/threat/encyclopedia/Entry.aspx?Name=Trojan%3aJS%2fSeedabutor.B. I also followed the Defender instructions. Is there anything else I should do/be doing? View this thread

Running XP Pro sp3 32 bit system. MSE stops on C:WINDOWSSystem 32colorprnt.icm every time. I have removed NORTON, (Used thier removal) I also uninstalled Malwarebytes. Quick scan works fine, by schedule or starting it manually. I put the file name in the exclude list but still dosen't work. I have restarted the computer, uninstalled MSE and reinstalled it. How do I tell if I have any other anti virus programs lurking?? View this thread

on laptop-i restored it back to a month ago, then i updated all from Microsoft & Norton, then ran a Norton program that checks for malware and requires a computer restart. After it finished, my results showed it got rid of platypus.dll, but doesn't do anything now. the only thing i can do is move my mouse and shut down computer. Any ideas?...Windows 7 View this thread

Depuis plus d'un mois j'ai des problèmes avec mon imprimante elle se retrouve dans les périphériques non spécifié. J'ai rejoint un technicien de microsoft nous avons travailler sur ce problème pendant 4 jours sans trouver de solutions, mon ordi est une bombe processeur I7 ect... Mais imaginez un ordi qui fonctionne très bien sans pouvoir imprimer. La seule solution c'est de désinstaller le service pack 1 et mon imprimante fonctionne pendant quelques jours sans problème, quand toutes les mises à jours ce sont installées, je ne peux plus me servir de mon imprimante. J'utilise Windows 7 édition familiale premium, je ne veux pas installer windows 8 sans savoir si mon problème soit résolue. View this thread

I have tried using Microsoft Security Essentials (i had a full scan and it found the trojan hourse it then tried to remove it) but it ecountered an error andQuarentied it when i re-scan it still shows in the scan. I also used microsoft security scanner but that could only partally remove it, any idears how i could manually remove it? View this thread

Sometimes when I turn on my computer in the morning, the Virus Protection on my Security Essentials program turns itself off. What is causing this, and how can I stop it from happening again? Once every few days I'll get an alert that my virus protection is shut off and I can't find a window to turn it back on. But then it will come back on in a day or so on its own. Hi All: On most internet pages, I get a pop up (which are turned off) about ads that refer to that page. ex: Appliance site--I may get an add for air conditioning. It is usually a gif image and many times (but not always) has the address in properties--http://content.yieldmanager.edgesuite.net> I have done all the usual---Internet Options....changing settings...deleting Adobe flashplayer (which did no good. Older posts reguarding Yeild have failed. I refuse to buy one of those miracle cures I find on search, that are probably is just another scam. I am stumped. I'm running XP Pro sp3 on an X40 ThinkPad. Of the last 9 critical updates, the 4 which were not for .net worked, as well as 2 of the .net updates for .net 3.5 and .net 4. But three, KB2742597 for .net 1.1 sp1, KB2742596 for .net 2.0 sp 2 and KB2756918 for .net 3.0 sp2, failed. I tried using automatic update, the windows update site and manual updates, all with the same result. I get no error message. Instead, the update begins and later stops without ending the install program. The installer can not be stopped. If I try to cancel, it says it's cancelling but nothing happens. In this state, the only way to get out of windows is to use the power button. In case I was trying to quit too soon, I left one running all night, with the same result. What needs to be done? This update showed up this morning (1-24-2013) it states 2.3mb, which is very large compaired to normal updatess to Microsoft Security Essistials. I get error code 80096010. have tried Microsoft "Fit-It", No help. Checked disk for errors, etc. View this thread

I have always run MSE, MBAM Free, and Win 7 firewall for my security purposes. I am also behind an Apple Extreme router. This has served my purposes well. In Dec, ver. 1.7 of MBAM was released and I downloaded and installed it. That weekend, a friend visited and used my computer for a short time. The following week, I could not get MBAM to run and I noted that MSE had not updated its definition files for a couple of days (This preceded the recent problems MSE had with updates). I uninstalled MBAM but MSE would not uninstall no matter what course of action I pursued. I tried all the manual uninstall methods circulating around. I took my PC to a trusted PC shop and they had the same issue. In the end, they reformatted my hard drive and now all is well. I highly suspect my friend may have unintentionally infected my PC in some manner. However, since this came on the heels of updating MBAM, I am not sure whether it was my friend or the MBAM update. I am now quite reluctant to reinstall MBAM Free because I don't want to cause any more issues. Has anyone else incurred issues with the upgrade to MBAM 1.7? In the past couple of years, my MBAM has only found one or two issues, both with a Java exploit if I recall correctly. I have disabled Java for my IE browser as a result. I am wondering if I really need MBAM at all. Yet, I am not sure that MSE alone is sufficient. I appreciate your opinions and shall await them before proceeding to reinstall the new version of MBAM Free. Thanks in Advance for your assistance. View this thread
