Ok, so I have tried literally 100 times to install Windows Service Pack 1 (KB976932). I have Windows 7 Home Premium. http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/441/capturedoa.png/ ( if the photo looks choopy click it to enlarge) As you can see I DO NOT have anything telling me what type of service pack I have installed onto my computer. I do not know why there isn't anything showing there. I did talk to tech support and they told me that my computert is customed (I wasn't aware of this. I bought it when I was 16). It's driver's and such are manufactured by Toshiba and Intel. So I decided not to take the risk of upgrading my drivers.Simpky cause I do not know what I am doing, and I do not want to take the risk of getting an error code and ending up with more problem than what i started off with. But I really don't think I would have to upgrade them. Especially since I do all of my Windows updates. Anywho, I have read countless of forums and such about W7 SP1 and I've tried all possible solutions. NO luck. Yes all the rest of my udates have been installed. Only one that will not install is W7 SP1. I continue to recieve error code 8024200d. I later found out that this error message means that I am missing some files that go along with the service pack. I do not know which ones they are, nor do I know how to find out where to download them and find which ones I do need. However, I check the windows update system constantly to see if any other patches are needed to be installed. None shows except for that darn W7 SP1 (KB976932). I've tried the all the troubleshooters offered by Windows but none have helped. Only one that I have not tried was the System Update Readiness Tool. That's only because it will not download for some reason. I would really love some extreme help with this. I've been trying solution after solution for the past 2 months. NOTHING has worked. I can't update my internet explorer without the SP1 or play The Sims 3 without it. Please help me. View this thread

So it keeps succesfully install the same two updates. Here is what i tried: Followed the guide: http://www.ehow.com/how_6077204_stop-microsoft-updates-caught-loop.html Followed the guide: Close and exit any open work documents or program windows you opened. 1a. Open Internet Explorer (only!) to http://support.microsoft.com/kb/910336 [ignore the title & Symptoms]. 1b. Dismiss/close the "automated troubleshooter" pop-up! - then... 1c. Ignoring any "Not recommended" or similar warnings, run Fix It 50202 in DEFAULT and then AGGRESSIVE modes. [1] 2. Reboot & then run a manual check for updates at Windows Update, etc., etc...When you reach Windows Update, do a Custom scan for updates. Take (accept) the ones marked Critical or Important.Decline any that are marked as "optional". Have infinite patience while it scans and does it's work. When it prompts you to Restart Windows, please do that. Allow it to restart. IF and only if you get an "error" or "exception/failure" message, I will need the complete so called "failure code" and description (if you see it). Please have good patience, this is not very complicated. Ask me if you have questions.~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~[1] Running the Fixit in aggressive mode will result in your history of installed MS updates to be "empty" when viewed online at Windows Updates. What is actually installed on your system will not be affected. Followed the guide: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows7/What-is-the-System-Update-Readiness-Tool Followed the guide here, an ran Fix it etc: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/910339 Tried install them manually from Microsoft site Followed this tut: http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/186275-windows-update-fix-repeatedly-offered-update.html None of them worked, i still see the same updates and can install them over and over again View this thread

Windows Update Error 80070002 - Windows 7 x64
AWS posted a topic in Tech Support & Discussions Forum
I very recently (within the past 8 days) started to encounter Error 80070002 when running Windows Update on my laptop running Windows 7 Home Premium x64. I have run through all the steps in the knowledge base, and have run the automatic troubleshooter, which returns successful repair of issues; however the problem remains.Shy of having the OS fully reinstalled, are there any additional steps I should consider? Hi. I run W7 - 64 bit edition with Office 2010 (Home User + Access - 32 bit edition) & my security is from ESET. I cannot install KB982726 & would be very grateful for some assistance in getting this sorted. I've searched here and more widely & tried all the proffered solutions to others with a similar problem but with no luck. Cheers John View this thread

After scanning and cleaning my privacy and registry, within 15 minuets my security essentials logs goes to an orange color indicated potentially unprotected. Either fix this or get out of the malware business altogether, or team up with another company who can run this for you. food for thought. This has been going on for over 2 weeks now...wasting my time dealing with this View this thread

I have a brand new laptop with Windows 8. The windows defender keeps saying I have not scanned for a while yet I keep running a scan and it still comes back saying you have not scanned for some time despite the fact that it says the last scan was the same day. This is really annoying. Any solutions? View this thread

My laptop came up with an error code 0xc0000428 after configuring. I then rebooted, as advised, and it's almost back to normal, except it deleted My Itunes ( although I still have the music files), My google chrome, My AVG, and all Microsoft Office ( word, excel, powerpoint). Shall I just re download them? Super confused? - Phoebe. M View this thread

I seem to be having a similar issue to others. My computer continually wants to do an automatic update on two issues: Security Update for Microsoft .NET Framework 4 on XP, Server 2003, Vista, Windows 7, Server 2008, Server 2008 R2 for x64 (KB2656351) & Update for Microsoft .NET Framework 4 on XP, Server 2003, Vista, Windows 7, Server 2008, Server 2008 R2 for x64 (KB2600217) This has been happening for a week, every time I shut down. Says it is successfully updated but then wants to reinstall once the pc is updated. I turned off automatic updates and tried a manual install from the windows site, seemed fine. So I turned on Automatic updates and nothing is resolved. 2013-04-22 11:26:23:082 476 1468 AU # 7 updates detected 2013-04-22 11:26:23:084 476 1468 AU ######### 2013-04-22 11:26:23:084 476 1468 AU ## END ## AU: Search for updates [CallId = {8EC6668C-9F43-49EB-BFC0-191AB7AD5739}] 2013-04-22 11:26:23:084 476 1468 AU ############# 2013-04-22 11:26:23:084 476 1468 AU No featured updates notifications to show 2013-04-22 11:26:23:084 476 1468 AU Setting AU scheduled install time to 2013-04-23 07:00:00 2013-04-22 11:26:23:085 476 1468 AU Successfully wrote event for AU health state:2 2013-04-22 11:26:23:085 476 1468 AU Auto-approving update for download, updateId = {34FE061B-686D-4AFB-965C-11DEA9A0E946}.100, ForUx=0, IsOwnerUx=0, HasDeadline=0, IsMinor=0 2013-04-22 11:26:23:085 476 1468 AU Auto-approving update for download, updateId = {6622AC5B-27B7-41AF-8D09-FC3128218525}.104, ForUx=0, IsOwnerUx=0, HasDeadline=0, IsMinor=0 2013-04-22 11:26:23:085 476 1468 AU Auto-approved 2 update(s) for download (NOT for Ux) 2013-04-22 11:26:23:085 476 1468 AU ############# 2013-04-22 11:26:23:085 476 1468 AU ## START ## AU: Download updates 2013-04-22 11:26:23:085 476 1468 AU ######### 2013-04-22 11:26:23:085 476 1468 AU # Approved updates = 2 2013-04-22 11:26:23:153 476 1468 AU AU initiated download, updateId = {34FE061B-686D-4AFB-965C-11DEA9A0E946}.100, callId = {560768F2-BEE0-4240-B0F0-6D9CCE4E693E} 2013-04-22 11:26:23:155 476 1468 AU AU initiated download, updateId = {6622AC5B-27B7-41AF-8D09-FC3128218525}.104, callId = {A42BDAEA-9F91-4B14-8388-B54FE943FFDD} 2013-04-22 11:26:23:156 476 1468 AU Setting AU scheduled install time to 2013-04-23 07:00:00 2013-04-22 11:26:23:156 476 1468 AU AU setting pending client directive to 'Download Progress' 2013-04-22 11:26:23:161 476 1468 AU # Pending download calls = 2 2013-04-22 11:26:23:161 476 1468 AU <<## SUBMITTED ## AU: Download updates 2013-04-22 11:26:23:170 476 b3c Report REPORT EVENT: {A8E9EE52-D053-4098-AAC9-F42AC924051F} 2013-04-22 11:25:38:583-0400 1 202 102 {00000000-0000-0000-0000-000000000000} 0 0 AutomaticUpdates Success Content Install Reboot completed. 2013-04-22 11:26:23:217 476 b3c Report CWERReporter finishing event handling. Just like everyone else I am unable to install any language packs on my windows 8 pro, I have followed all the procedures given on the internet regarding scanning the system and so on, even by running the command lines to installation on safe mode and that is when I have realised where the problem lies, by this time there has been 57 updates for windows 8 pro on my system without any alteration to the windows features, after removing all 57 of them the language pack magically installs without a problem, thus for anyone looking for a solution here you go, when doing a clean install turn off windows update until your language packs are installed, and here is my question, will someone please look into the current 57 updates and find out which one of them is actually causing the trouble?
