keeping getting error message 8E5E0147 for critical updates, checked several things and then message that file/folder may have been changed/deleted. I don't know what to do now View this thread

I am running windows 7 64 bit home premium. My antivirus is MSE.I have not had problems with updating before. The updates of 10/4/13 were all fine apart from KB 2808735. I get error message 80070026.I have tried going to Microsoft downloads and doing it manually. I have done system restore and downloaded each separately. All the others are fine but not that one. I have run the Fixit which says it has repaired update, but it still does not install. I think it may be an installation problem as when trying to install, it seems to download and then moves to 'installing' before it says 'failed'?I noticed in reliability monitor that I was also having frequent Firefox.exe failures. So I uninstalled FF and all the bits of it, and tried again, still no good. (I have now reinstalled FF so we will see if at least I may have solved that one!)Advice gratefully received! Update KB 2807986 continually fails to load and reverts. Error code is 80070020. I've tried loads of suggestions but it still will not load. Every time I switch on my computer it tries to load it but fails, how can I make it load? View this thread

I am unable to open Windows Update Express option, When clicking on Express, I get a message saying that "files required to use windows update are no longer registered or installed on your computer." I've tried both options following the message, with no luck at all. Belarc tells me that 125 updates from Microsoft are missing.I do have the Windows XP home edition sp2 disk. Suggestions, please. I have had repeated offerings of the same .NET Framework4 updates, which install successfully and show as installed updates. I have read and tried to apply solutions offered on many similar threads over the past year, all unsuccessful... these include running the repair for .NET Framework 4 on control panel-> programs-> uninstall; FixIt for windows update, (before and after resetting IE, both basic and aggressive modes). The original KBs (6 of them) were then hidden, and subsequently I have 5 different KBs again for .NET Framework 4! I am feeling like it is time to uninstall and reinstall .NET Framework 4. Please help! This problem probably preceeded an upgrade from Vista to Win 7. View this thread

I've had my laptop around a month, this morning it was working fine and when turning it on this afternoon it decided to automatic update and restart. Upon restarting I come to the welcome screen but cant log on because the mouse doesn't work and none of the keys on the keyboard do either. A NVIDIA driver update for NVIDIA GeForce 8300 GS was included in a MS update package for Windows Vista. MS has classified it as "Important". It has destabilised my system (bluescreen messages, random shutdowns, refusal to shut down). I have resolved the immediate problem by reverting to before the download date, but the troublesome update keeps downloading. I noticed my M.S.E icon was missing, this first alerted me to a problem. After finally getting to M.S.E, it was in the red, so i gave it a full scan and discovered viruses & Malware, i then took action(as recommended) and manually removed them, i was instructed to then restart my PC once everything was apparently done to finish the removal , by then it was now in the yellow, great, finally getting somewhere - or so i thought, did this only to find i was back in the red and viruses & all other malware originally found by M.S.E still there ?????if anybody's reading this, it seems as though i had a bad virus(Trojan), the answer was to uninstall M.S.E, then re-install it, do a full scan, then take appropriate action. solved.
