Recently (this week) my computer began giving me problems1) an error when I try to install things. The error reads "The version of this file is not compatible with the version of Windows you're currently running. Check your computer's system information to see whether you need an x86 or x64 version of the program, and contact the publisher.2) certain windows will not show on top of others when i select them from the task bar (and neither are set to always show on top) For example, my internet browser (specifically chrome) will not show on top of any office product, and I cannot switch between office products (powerpoint to word or the reverse)Possibly relevant info: Windows 7 Pro 64bit I recently uninstalled an autodesk program to get an upgraded license Flight Simulator X (which I know is compatible as I had it installed previously) will not install. I have a Dell XPS ONE and used the Factory Restore option due to several problems. The system is 4 years old and updating a 4 year old Windows Vista Home Premium system is proving to be too much for me to handle. When I try to update Windows, I am successful on about 60 updates, but then I get to SP 1. It tells me that it is installed, but then I go to Update again and it tells me I need SP I .. I can go through the same thing indefinitely, installing SP 1 but it still tells me that I need to install SP 1 even though it was just installed successfully. Aparently, SP 1 is not installing correctly but it is telling me that it is installed. It ISN'T!! In the meantime, I can''t reinstall Norton Internet Security. It tells me I need SP2 for Vista. when I open realtek hd, it says you see a blank page because no audio device connected to the system. to enable gui, connect an audio device to the system. It has been that way ever since I reboot my computer, and I've had my headset on for all Input but it's always the same standing there, anyone have any tips what I can do? Thanks for any reply. A New Folder is created in Desktop when ever we log in into Windows. When we try to Delete by log in as admin also we get the same problem. When we try to delete the folder it says access denied and we are not able to create any new folder in the desktop. Please help on this issue. View the thread

Hello, I was recently asked to fix my brother's DELL laptop. The HDD had failed, and the system inoperable. I replaced the HDD and installed Windows 7 Home Premium x64 (the previously existing version of windows) from my own install media. Had the recovery partition survived the HDD failure, I would have simply cloned that and used it, however that wasn't an option in this case. The problem that I am experiencing, is that windows will not activate, saying that the key is invalid. I was told that the Windows 7 install media would work with either a retail or an OEM key, but that doesn't seem to be the case. The OEM key I am using, is from the computer it originally came from, and the only hardware change is the new HDD. I'm trying to avoid ordering an OEM install CD from Dell, as that costs money (I already have my own install CD) and takes time (why don't they have them available for download?). Hi: I replaced a brand new battery on DELL Latitude D620 the other day and found the battery often sliding from the Laptop that causes 'black-out' of DELL Latitude D620. Following downloading, then uninstalling various programmes I have somehow managed to decrease both the size of my text and images. I have tried changing the dpi, then changing the screen size which just made everything too big. Is there someway I can get back to the original size I had before I miniaturized everything? I had MS Office 2010 (Home and Student Version) installed in my notebook running Windows 8 (64 bits). I uninstalled the Office 2010 and then tried to install MS Office 2013 by clicking the link provided online. It did nothing after gaining permission to run. I then downloaded the image (2.5 G) of the installation disk and burn it on a DVD. The disk did not start "setup" on insertion. I then run the setup program, it did nothing after gaining permission to run. After sometime, I tried to run the setup32 in the folder "office". It said that Office had been installed and asked me to go online to activate it. There was no icon / shortcuts to MS Office, Word, Excel etc. in my machine. I was not able to find a location online to activate it. And I was not able to run the "installed" Office 2013 on my machine. What should I do? View this thread

Hello, I'm currently planning on building a new computer, but I have an orignal copy of Windows 7 Home Premium Upgrade. I want to avoid installing all of the updates that came before SP1. IS there a way I can obtain an SP1 .ISO file legally, so I don't have to deal with all of those updates? Also, can someone show me how I can install that .ISO to create a USB flash boot drive? One last question. I jumped from Windows XP to Windows 7. I installed my same copy of Windows 7 on my Mac via 'Bootcamp' and it installed and activated with no problem.
