  1. Have you updated the hardware driver and software for your graphics card? You have to use the GPU and windows software to configure the new monitor. What is the make and model of your GPU?
  2. If you do not have Windows 7 yet I would keep the recovery console for now. Here are some very usefull links for you to save to your favourites: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/216417 http://windows.microsoft.com/en-GB/windows7/help/system-repair-recovery The two seprate partions are a better way to store data..... I download to my second partition then scan for viruses when clean I move to main partition.... When you download hardware drivers,do not download and install.Download and save them first.Once you have all the drivers for Windows 7 you require save them to a disk, floppy disk or a USB pen drive so you will always have them at hand but remember drivers are updated every so often. Then once saved you can then install them when you wish....
  3. 4. Hello and welcome. The EISA is your recovery partition, this hold the software and drivers to recover your computer if lets say it crashes or gets a virus.EISA will set your computer back to factory reset and no need to search for drivers. Did you not get a driver disk when you bought the machine? You could also make recovery disks wich would also store the software and drivers to restore your computer.
  5. Is the computer beeping? http://www.studynotes.net/Bios-Beep-Codes
  6. Yes all pictures etc would be gone unless you back them up to disk or USB or external hard drive. It would set the computer back as if it just came out of the shop.

  9. Mmmmmm bashing the computer. I would remove from power outlet, open the case, touch PSU for a few seconds to eliminate static then check for any loose cables............
  10. Hello. It would be simpler for you to run a full recovery and set back to factory reset.....
  11. I would plug in the GPU and try the monitor from there.... As you reset the BIOS a few times enter BIOS and check what is set....Such as wich GPU is enabled....
  12. Are you saying multiple IE opens when you click it? Does this happen with any other programs? If it is multiple IE only,do they show your home page or other pages such as advertising? This could be malware?
  13. That first PSU is way over priced......I bought a OZC 500 WATTS for less than that.... The second is eBay and says it may have cosmetic issues, not a good sign plus I have not heard of that brand looks cheap. Are you sure the CPU is seated correctly and the cooler fan is spinning? Here is some help to troubleshoot PSU problems. http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/Document.jsp?objectID=bph06788&lang=en&cc=us&taskId=101&contentType=SupportFAQ&prodSeriesId=3239114&prodTypeId=12454

Download and install http://www.almico.com/speedfan.php Now I want you to check temps during idle processes, during normal processes such as running IE/FireFox and also then when running SIMS.
