Cheers Nev I ran the dead pixel thing theres a slight shadow in corner of one of one of them I can live with , and cables at that price I rekon I'll order half a dozen

My big TV been on the blink and having returned it back to the shop to be sorted or replaced , I decided to pop in to my local " Cash Gen " to have a look at monitors , and lo and behold I found 2 acer 22inch ones at 13 quid each so I bought them both , had them show me they both was working then they told me they wanted 6 quid each for the VGA cables 6 quid I tell ya , obviously I politely refused and grabbed 2 cables from work that night, all in all though am well pleased with both monitors.

Hello Simmy it sounds like your boot order needs to be changed in bios , at the moment it looks like the first device is one of your externals , take a look at the following link to help you change boot order http://www.howtogeek.com/129815/beginner-geek-how-to-change-the-boot-order-in-your-computers-bios/ this will give you a idea

Hiu Ter67 could you download the following please and post the logs on your next reply , this will remove toolbars and other adware from browsers. Please download AdwCleaner by Xplode onto your desktop. Close all open programs and internet browsers. Double click on adwcleaner.exe to run the tool. Click on the Delete button. A logfile will automatically open after the scan has finished. Please post the contents of that logfile with your next reply. You can find the logfile at C:\AdwCleaner[s1].txt as well.

Hi Trickymicky and welcome to ExTS does the website your using specifically ask for word or that the file be in word format ? , which free office program are you using ? , also here is a link to a 30 day download of Office also Open Office which is totally free and is compatible with word documents and also allows you to save them in word format. Hi The Program Data folder is usually hidden you can change the setting to show it as youi see in the attached pic the folder is a lighter shade this is to show the folder is usually hidden [ATTACH=CONFIG]1047.vB5-legacyid=1973[/ATTACH] To change this click organize then folder and search options then view then show hidden files and folders this will show the hidden folders then to hide them just repeat the process and uncheck show hidden files and folders [ATTACH=CONFIG]1048.vB5-legacyid=1974[/ATTACH]

Hi hotboxdp am sorry you got hit with this I am the one that started the last thread on this ,my friends system got hit with this too and up to now I have not been able to decrypt the files , I think its just hope and wait till someone breaks this

For those of us confident enough for laptop repair/harddrive changing ram upgrading etc I find my most invaluable tool is my magnetic pen used for grabbing screws I loosen them enough to put the tip of the pen over the hole and let it pick up the screw saves me lost screws [ATTACH=CONFIG]1045.vB5-legacyid=1970[/ATTACH]

By E-systems do you mean E-Machines ? which is basically owned by Acer so the recovery partition will be f10 or boot into widows and the select E - recovery management when you select the correct recovery option windows will boot into that option for you to run recovery. Quick add on to this E-Machines recovery is F11 not F10

Every picture I click on basically is the following and the exe file and the folders are gone during the removal , I will contact my friend and run the tool you have recommended and get back to you , Thanks Armageddon

I was lucky i was shifting files to a new drive I pasted them there then like a idiot i deleted them i ran Recuva straight away

It was the PCEU virus i shifted that the dirty decrpt folders were a part of the clean , but since the gentleman wanted a full re image I did that yesterday , I do know he still has the pics docs etc just incase we can sort them

Don't try cutting and pasting 30 gig of data whist doing other stuff cos then ya accidently delete it , all I can say is yay for recuvva

Hi chaps this one has me stuck , but lets start from the begining a friend of mine contacted me re the pceu virus he had it on his system am guessing from his viewing of the seedy side of the internet . I splatted the offending bug as per insructions from our good friend Pete , only thing is every picture and document is now encrypted with the following File is encrypted This file can be decrypted using the program DirtyDecrypt.exe Press CTRL+ALT+D to run DirtyDecrypt.exe If DirtyDecrypt.exe not opened сheck the paths: C:\Program Files\Dirty\DirtyDecrypt.exe C:\Program Files (x86)\Dirty\DirtyDecrypt.exe C:\Users\[YOUR USER]\AppData\Roaming\Dirty\DirtyDecrypt.exe C:\Documents and Settings\[YOUR USER]\Application Data\Dirty\DirtyDecrypt.exe C:\Documents and Settings\[YOUR USER]\Local Settings\Application Data\Dirty\DirtyDecrypt.exe the offending folders are removed and all malware checks now come up clean , but i cant restore the pictures/documents , and new pictures/documents are fine , all research points nowhere including beeping computer the post there re this states everything is lost am just wondering if our security super hero's have any ideas

Hi Ian in regards to the pc can yop download and run bluescreenview from here its towards bottom of page then post the last 3 dump files this will give us information of the stop codes which may point to the reason behind the BSOD's , also your daughters laptop since it came with win7 there is probably a recovery partition built in to totally re-install windows if you posted the make of your daughters laptop we'd be able to point you in the right direction to run recovery.

A start menu snap also now goes to the middle , windows explorer better set out nothing else as yet

Yes you did Ken , I got myself a Iphone4s it lasted 3 days I took it back , I got a Z10 and a S3 now , all I need now is a fan controller for the other desktop

Hi I have a similar set up but with 3 screens , what am thinking is you have disabled show POST during startup this happens before you see the windows logo , I'd check BIOS and in there will be advanced settings if you want to see the POST screen there will be a setting , if you need further help give us a shout
