If that doesn't work here is another option. Drag the window larger. Don't close it. Open a new window. Drag it larger. Maximize the second window. Maximize the first window. Close the first window. Close the second window. Open a new window. The instructions for IE have to be exact. Sometimes I have to do it a few times with IE.

These type of programs use their own file type which means they are not the usual picture file types such as .jpeg or .tiff. As such Windows can't open them. Only the program can open them. If you knew the file type that Flowers in Bloom uses for their images you could use Windows Search to find them on your hard drive. The problem is you won't be able to view them unless you choose to open with Flowers in Bloom most likely. If you do that with the wrong file type and had the always open with selected then you might set the default wrong and could cripple the program. If you right click the program shortcut and select properties you can click open file location. This will take you too the program folder. Somewhere in there you will find the images as some sort of file type.

Not knowing your program I can only guess what is happening. Maybe you did a Migration install or a transfer. See Here. I'm guessing your images are in fact loading from your drive. It could be in a personal folder or one of the program folders. Maybe even from the MRU list in the folder.

Tires and mower My 2008 Impala had a tire losing pressure. The tires on it were nearing end of life but I only meant to repair the tire. After they showed me my tires while on the lift I was amazed at how bad they were. I knew I needed tires when I bought the car but had no idea they were that bad. I used to work for a major rubber company but after reviewing the facts and weighing the costs I went with these from a competitor. Michelin Defender At 90,000 miles it should be some time before I need to buy again. After fighting my old Snapper mower for years I finally gave up and bought a new one. My old riding mower as seen in the movie Forrest Gump still works but I bought a new push-self propelled mower that mulches or bags It is the Snapper Ninja series which at $519.00 is a good deal for the quality. This is turning into an expensive year but for the last 25 years I put off so much and it is time to catch up on things. I limped by and made my money work for me but it's time to spend some of the profits. In another month I'm getting top of the line designer windows. Triple pane, low E, argon filled, wood windows with metal clad exteriors with interior blinds between the panes. I've seen the rest and these are the best. Although I refinished the interior wood 25 years ago and it still looks good the windows themselves are the original single hung windows and are 60 years old. It is time. I'll post pics of the old and the new Pella windows when it's done. Next fall I will rip out carpet and go back to newly refinished original solid oak wood floors in the bedrooms and main room. I might be out of the house and offline while that is done.

Judge Judy - the Reality TV Show
RandyL replied to Airborne's topic in Tech Support & Discussions Forum
You're right. Most of these programs pay the litigants from a fund so no one really loses any money. Some of the litigants still fight like heck though even when the monetary amounts are tiny. I've seen people file suits for less than $100. Hardly worth my time to go to any court but sometimes people just have to scream to anyone that they are right based on principal. I actually kind of understand that as principal and integrity are more important than money. However at my age I have more important battles to fight that affect major issues. But heck at least they get their day in court so to speak. It is fun to watch some peope make idiots of themselves though. However of all the reality court programs I've seen that is one of the worst I've seen based on my interpretation of justice. But like you said it is a free vacation for some. But it is also a vacation that comes with a higher price than money for some as they air a lot of dirty laundry and expose their true selves to everyone. -
Drives sometimes not being recognized
RandyL replied to isaacson's topic in Tech Support & Discussions Forum
Are you doing anything when this happens like unplugging a drive or removing a card? Is your XP updated? -
Hi Splodger1; I don't know if it is malware or what it might be. The reason I asked is because if you have more than one real time antivirus programs enabled they can cause all sorts of havoc. If I am not mistaken Malwarebytes Pro includes real time antivirus protection as does AVG Internet Security. Temporarily turning one off or uninstalling one temporarily might make a difference if this is the case. One thing about Malwarebytes Pro is that if you downloaded the trial version and the trial period expired it reverts to Malwarebytes free version if you did not upgrade to the paid version. If that is the case then the real time protection does not exist on the free version. That is why I asked Ken if it might be an issue. Ken will be able to advise you more. Someone else may have insight too.

Ken could this be a case of AVG internet security and malwarebytes pro conflicting?

[Solved] Copy an old disk to a new one
RandyL replied to mij's topic in Tech Support & Discussions Forum
Hi jim. Just to add. Most backup programs including inbuilt Windows will rewrite and send the old backup to the recycle bin. I've always been a bit confused by this too but here is what I think it means..... I don't think this is a seperate recycle bin for your external drive. Windows as a system only has the one. I think it means that your old Image of "Win7 file System Volume Information" has been sent to the recycle bin as your new backup image was written. Every time I use the Windows 7 backup or WD backup the same files end up in my bin. I am unfamiliar with Macrium Reflect but it may have been imaging the bin as well. Anyway thanks Jim. -
My grandson has a Ipod Touch. Often times when I open Itunes it does not see the device. Sometimes I can close and open Itunes and it works. Sometimes I have to disconnect the cable to get it to work. Sometimes I have to do both. Worse still I sometimes have to reboot. Granted I have Windows 7 so that might make a difference but I never have a problem with any other USB device. Forget Itunes and sync. Is the Ipod even working or turning on?

can't activate windows firewall or windows defender
RandyL replied to lotny's topic in Tech Support & Discussions Forum
Hi lotny. Chances are the solution for the firewall will be found here. “0x80070422” error message when you try to enable Windows Firewall It sounds like both services are disabled. This could happen if you are infected or if you have an antivirus suite installed. Some suites will disable those. Another thing that might be an issue is if Defender is not updating. Are Windows Updates set to Automatic? -

Server networking assistance required
RandyL replied to Vr5fx's topic in Tech Support & Discussions Forum
I would really like to help but I'm clueless with server setups. I can barely setup home networking on XP to Vista or 7. You mentioned that all 3 are on 7 so homegroup should work. XP and Vista or 7 of course have to be set up as a work group to work together as I'm sure you already know. Like I said I'm clueless about servers but I'm wondering if changing to a work group setting might help. Advanced security permissions would have to be set and the work group name would have to be the same on all computers. Also on SHARING properties type in Everyone. I wish I could offer more bud. -
[Solved] Copy an old disk to a new one
RandyL replied to mij's topic in Tech Support & Discussions Forum
I just thought I would mention mention another option that should work since the option exists in all versions of Windows 7. Sorry to say though it won't work on a USB stick. If you go to Control Panel and click on Backup and Restore you can make a system image and a system repair disk. For the image you can make a one time manual image. That image combined with the repair disk should work as long as the computer is set to boot from the optical drive first in the BIOS. You will need an external Hard drive. DVD is an option but I don't recommend it. Make sure you select all the drives when making the image if you have more then one. The How-To Geek has a pretty good article on this. http://www.howtogeek.com/howto/4241/how-to-create-a-system-image-in-windows-7/ A lot of people use Macrium and Ken and Nev can guide you with it. I just thought I would throw out another option. -
cannot download Zune keep getting error code
RandyL replied to pinkyjules's topic in Tech Support & Discussions Forum
One thing you can try is making sure you have all the updates for Vista including SP2. -
Thanks for your reply. At this point I think it might be prudent to methodically examine the issues. Eliminating any malware possibilities might be the next best step. I will ask our malware experts to look into this before anything else.
-
I guess I should also ask if you have ever had a virus or other type of malware infection? Have you ever used P2P, Peer to Peer, Torrents or any other file sharing type of program?
-
Sorry I forgot to mention that. It does indeed seem that you are using that particular account or profile. Like I said I think it's probably because the original was corrupted and XP created a new one as a temporary one so you could get into Windows.
-
My point is that you are deleting files and folders manually that you have no idea if they are needed or not. This could cause serious system issues if you don't know what you are doing. Renaming instead of deleting is meant as a saftey step. If it causes problems and you are lucky enough to get back into Windows you can rename it back. Large files will bypass the recycle bin. A system restore point is always a good idea whenever you are guessing with system files. Safety first. By backing up I mean backup all your files, folders, pictures, movies, music, calenders, address book etc. to an external device such as an external drive, cd/dvd, usb stick etc. That way if you have to reinstall Windows you won't lose everything. For that matter it's a good way to make space on your hard drive. Once backed up you can delete them from your computer. If you are messing around with user accounts and profiles it might be a good idea to temporarily make a new Administrator account in case you screw it up. You can always delete it later. To be honest I definitely do not recommend that you try to free up space in this manner. A better option to start with is to move some of your files to disk etc. like I said above. After that run the Disk Cleanup Tool. Description of the Disk Cleanup Tool in Windows XP For more information on User Accounts read How to Delete an Account on Windows XP Deleting Profiles article from Microsoft is also something you should read. Proceed with extreme caution or you might end up reinstalling Windows.

C: > Documents and settings/HP_Owner would be the original default Administrator account in XP. When you login to Windows this is the account you are using if you have not set up any additional users. C: > Documents and settings/HP_Owner.Your-447023AE6B might be a tempory user profile which is sometimes created when there is a problem of corruption on the account that was being used. Can you safely delete one of those? That depends. If one is a temporary account user profile then yes. But which one are using? Do you have more then one user set up? Go to My Documents and right click a file. Select Properties. Copy the file location. Also rather then deleting anything rename the folder at first instead. Just add .old to the name. Also you might want to create another Administrator account first. Also create a manual System Restore point first. Also backup everything first. Proceed with extreme caution or you might end up reinstalling Windows.
-
I won't pretend to understand the issue but I will guess. Do you have more then one account on this computer and are the files shared? Have you restored your computer recently? As I think Ken was asking can you please supply the exact file path fore any folders or files that you think are duplicated? Right click them to see. Sorry I am not on XP at the moment.
