  1. Hi debi; Make two posts. Put part of the text in each post please.
  2. A fixed width, which is what you are using, is just that. The size is fixed. So depending on what users display settings are or what size screen, remember the old CRT monitors? then the page may fill the screen, may not fill the screen or even be to big for the screen which would mean sideways scrolling. Using percentages for the width is the secret. Set them at less then 100%. Without seeing your source code I don't know where or how you are setting your widths. I can give you one example though. If your page is setup using tables then you make one large table set at 100%. Then you make smaller tables inside of tables making them less then 100%. So if you use 70% as your next inside table and center it then that will leave your backround at 15% on both sides which totals 100%. Using this method will utilize the full screen of everyones computer without sideways scrolling and give you your unused margins on the sides. If you go to Page>View Source you can copy the code and paste it here. Unfortunately I only have minor experience in Pure HTML. If it is set up with CSS for instance I wouldn't have a clue. I also have no experience using Photoshop to create web pages.
  3. Thanks everyone. Had a great Italian dinner with the wife and grandson. Ken I'm going to have to download the font that is on that cake. :D
  4. Unlikely that you have more then one flash player installed. Look in the Control Panel>Add/remove programs. You can uninstall flash player then continue to reinstall it by following the directions at the link.
  5. Out of curiosity I do want it. I'm just to cheap. :)
  6. At what point? I'm not sure what you mean by this. Does it boot up?
  7. You'll have to get your dad to buy it little buddy. :p
  8. Hi Jacob. Tough one but there are a couple things you can try. You're showing a Standard PS/2 Keyboard above. If it's listed in Device Manager disable it. Remove the Microsoft mouse/keyboard receiver and try the keyboard with the Advent receiver. You can temporarily use a PS/2 mouse or navigate with the keyboard. Any difference? Although the Microsoft knowledge based article kb/838398 refers to "response failures in wireless keyboard or mouse" Method 4: Check for interference might shed some insight. Especially note the underlined parts. Items such as wireless routers, radios, cell phones, desktop fans, fluorescent lights, and large metal objects like computer cases and metal furniture may interfere with the signal of the keyboard. Try to keep such items away from the keyboard, and check the behavior of the keyboard. Do not put the mouse or the receiver near any electrical devices, especially transmitters such as cordless or cellular telephones or other wireless mouse devices or receivers. A distance of at least 8 to 12 inches is recommended. Do not put the mouse or the receiver on metallic surfaces or objects, especially long metallic rails or cables. We recommend that you keep the mouse and the keyboard a minimum of 3 feet from metallic objects. It is possible that both receivers are picking up the keyboard signal. That's why I suggested removing the combo receiver. If that is the case you can buy a wireless keyboard/mouse combo very cheap.
  9. Helcaraxe tried to help. Going through Microsofts procedures is the only thing you can do. We aren't going to help you hack into an account. You are the one who foolishly set up the account with fictitious information and failed to make a copy of the information. Also foolish to use any mail account or email client as a form of backup. Also when backing up one should have at least two backup methods. Foolish not to do so if you ask me. Even God can't save fools from themselves.
  10. Run the Windows 7 Upgrade Advisor. That will tell you a lot. Make sure you follow the instructions. Download and run Windows7UpgradeAdvisorSetup.exe to install Windows 7 Upgrade Advisor If your PC is running Windows XP, setup will make sure .NET Framework 2.0 is installed. If it's not found, setup will help you install it. [*]Plug in and turn on any USB devices or other devices, such as printers, external hard disks, and scanners, that you regularly use with the PC you're checking [*]Run the Windows 7 Upgrade Advisor from your start menu or desktop
  11. Which is it? HP Pavillions come preinstalled with Windows. Why are you installing? Are you reinstalling? If so why? Are you trying to install from the recovery disks you made? Is the BIOS set to boot from the optical drive first? What is the model number?
  12. mil1368 has this post been copied from another forum that you posted to? That might explain the link parsing. If you did post somewhere else can you link us to it please as it might save some time.
  13. When you update manually don't install any driver updates from the optional updates. It's possible that may be the cause since safemode boots.
  14. You might also want to try the System Update Readiness Tool
  15. You could also try the Windows Update Trouble shooter found here. http://support.microsoft.com/kb/949358#method1
  16. Yes you can. Go to Control Panel. Change view by: to icons Click Windows Update Click Check for updates. Click on Important updates or Optional updates. Select from the list.
  17. It sounds like you are trying to make another video disk from the original files. What I suggested was to use the disk you made and create a copy. Since you used Moviemaker I'm going to assume that you only saved and burned the original disk as a WMV file format since that is what Moviemaker does. With the disk in go to Computer. Right click your disk drive and select Open. Right click the file on the original disk you made and select properties to verify the file type. If it is WMV (Windows Media Audio/Video file) you can copy it to your hard drive then use burning software to make a new disk with the WMV file. BurnAware free does not support direct disk copy except as an ISO file. Neither does Windows but with this method you can create a copy of the original disk you made. With Windows right click the WMV file you copied to your computer and select Send to then select your CD/DVD drive. If you click your start orb then click All Programs you may find a basic version of burning software like Nero, Roxio or CyberLink. These may support direct disk copy. In addition basic versions of burning software like Nero, Roxio or CyberLink or even the Windows DVD Maker can create DVD's that will play in standard DVD players.
  18. It could be a corrupted file. I've run across that before. Most computers that have DVD burners will also have a basic version of burning software. For instance Nero. Roxio or CyberLink. With these you can do a DVD to DVD copy from the DVD you already made. Can you check your programs please?
  19. You're welcome kareny. I'm glad it was a simple fix.
  20. Try this. Be warned that all IE add-ons will be uninstalled. Uninstall the google toolbar by going to Programs and Features in Control Panel. Go to Internet Options in Control Panel or Internet Options by selecting Tools in the IE toolbar. Click Reset and follow any prompts such as Apply or OK. Restart IE or reboot and restart IE.
  21. Good idea neill. Why do drive up automated bank teller machines have buttons with braille?
  22. Minecraft is an online multiplayer server based game. Anyone with a static IP can set up their computer to act as a game server. If you can not connect to a particular game server then it could be that your mothers IP or IP address range is being blocked by the person who is hosting that particular game. This can be done with Minecraft. Have you tried joining a different game on Minecraft hosted by someone else? If your IP is being blocked but not your User ID you could try turning off your modem for a few minutes then turn it back on. If your mother has a static IP address then this might give her a slightly different address. Just a thought. I'm a little confused as to whether this problem is just related to your laptop. You talk about different computers at different locations. However you could try deleting temp files, cookies etc. Also try a different browser. Again just a thought.
  23. Safemode perhaps. It might be worth a try.
  24. You don't say what kind of Apple device so I'll guess it's an iPod Touch. The only way for it not to be linked to your wifes account is to set up a new iTunes Account/Apple ID. No way around that. How to Set Up FaceTime for iPod Touch Step 2 of 5.
  25. There are not too many users here but it might help if we knew what the issue was.
