  11. No worries Mama. We are here to help. :) Please download the attached archive and extract it. If you are unsure on how to open the archive, use the instructions from here and continue. After you have extracted the archive, you should obtain a file labeled Fix CD Drive.reg. Double-click on the file and you will be asked whether you want to import the information into the registry or not. Answer Yes to the prompt and sometime later another dialog box will pop up informing you that the operation was successful. After you have done the above, reboot your computer. You should now be able to access and use your CD drive. http://extremetechsupport.com/forum/images/colortheory/attach/zip.gif Fix CD Drive.zip Note: Using the above registry fix might cause some programs to dysfunction or work incorrectly. In that case, please reinstall the affected programs to resolve their respective errors. Hope that helps. -- Goku

After you have set the BIOS boot order, boot from the disc and use the instructions in the below article to reinstall Windows. 13. Hello and Welcome to FPCH Laura. :) The simplest and easiest way to resolve the problem is to enable a feature called USB Legacy Support in the BIOS. Please read the below article to learn how to do so. PC Accessories - Issues when USB Legacy Support is Disabled After you have enabled the option, reboot your computer and try to reformat your computer again. Does your keyboard work now? If it doesn't, then please try another keyboard (preferably a USB one) and see what happens. Good Luck. :) -- Goku

  15. If you are consdering a new Media Player, you might like Winamp (Free Edition). I use it primarily for music playback and VideoLAN's VLC Media Player for video playback. I tried iTunes once and was impressed by its features but it takes some time to load. Besides, I find that it slows down your computer to some extent. Try different players and see what suits you best. Hope that helps. :) -- Goku
  16. Repair installs are safe and do not generally cause any harm unless the drive is weak and deteriorating. If you fear, that the drive may not be able to handle stressful operations, then refrain from doing a repair as it will make things worse. However, if the drive is in good working condition, then it is quite commendable to perform the repair installation. For one, it is assured that the repair install won't damage any of your data. Also, what do you mean by the second part of your post. I couldn't quite understand it. -- Goku
