  1. Sorry that I couldn't solve your problem. Hopefully you may be able to get your photos off the Memory Stick and it wont cost you too much.
  2. Hi, If neither recovery option locates the Memory Stick then your only option, from my point of view, is to use a specialist company. The problem is, these companies are not cheap and there would be no guarantees. I would contact them first and get some idea of prices. I am sorry that we cannot be of any further help. :(
  3. Are you sure that the USB ports are working OK ? Did you try the Memory Stick on another computer? Give EaseUs a try - it is probably the best on the market. If the Memory Stick is showing in Disk Management it should be picked up.
  4. Confirming that there is a problem with the Memory Stick. Try this recovery software [ EaseUs ] - click here It suggests that you can restore 2GB free The Pro version is no better than the free - it just lets you recover more data. After installing run the software with your Memory Stick in a USB port. Hopefully it will find it. You can then select that drive [ E: ? ] to scan. Recovery should be straight forward if it locates your photos.
  5. chkdsk [space] E: [ space] /R
  6. Hi Lee, I assume that you have tried the Memory Stick in another computer ? It is showing "no media" but this is not necessarily the case. Try the following: Go back to Disk Management [dskmgmt.msc] and right click on Disk 1 If "Change Drive Letter" is an option click on this then change the Drive Letter to F or G or H [ doesn't really matter ] Unplug the Memory Stick and re-plug it in. Can you access it now ? If not ......... Start > type in ........ cmd ...... [ do not hit Enter yet ] Now hold down CTRL and SHIFT ......and press ENTER at the same time. This should allow you to run Command Prompt as Administrator At the Command Prompt type ........ chkdsk E: /R........ hit Enter [ E: is the drive letter attached to the Memory Stick - as shown in your image ] If you managed to change the Drive Letter then use this instead of E: The system should check the Memory Stick and repair any errors it finds. After the scan try to access the Memory Stick again.
  7. Hi Lee, It sounds as if the Memory Stick may have died [ corrupted ]. Under NO CIRCUMSTANCES should you FORMAT the Memory Stick. [ you will lose ALL DATA ] 1. Have you tried the Memory Stick in another computer? It could be a problem with your USB ports If you get the same results from a different computer ....... 2. Plug the Memory Stick in. Does the computer give any indication [ sound ] that a device has been plugged in ? 3. Locate "Computer" You should see something like the image below: Does the Memory Stick show as a drive letter? 4.Click on Start [ bottom left of screen ] and type in .... diskmgmt.msc ...hit Enter Does the Memory Stick show here ? It will be a drive number labelled "Removable" or similar

  9. Hi, You need to disconnect the Plusnet. Connect only the BT Hub and access it as above. Take a look at this video - You need to skip to Part Two [ 6 mins 50 secs ] This is for a different model router but should give you some idea.
  10. Hi, This is one for Starbuck but I did ask him recently to recommend a good free AV. He advised "Defender" How this compares with Norton I could not say but if Defender is good enough for Starbuck then it is good enough for me. [ I use it on my wife's new Win10 machine :) ]

  13. Hi again :) This is good news Registry cleaners are not a good idea. The Registry is the complex heart of your system. I wouldn't trust a piece of free or paid-for software to delete registry keys that it deemed "unnecessary" Unused Registry keys don't clog up the system or slow it down. In my opinion, the Registry is best left alone :) Happy that your system is running OK now.
  14. Hi joddle, I have heard of this with Dell before. The solution was to swap the RAM or take out two modules if 4 are present. You could try RAM modules from one of the working computers.
