  2. Hi Chris and welcome to ExTS We are almost neighbours - I live on Wirral :)
  3. Hi and welcome to ExTS You are in the right place - there is a wide spectrum of knowledge here :)
  4. One problem solved :) Your system specs seem to be better than the minimum requirements. I did note that you are running SP2. XP has SP3 available. I doubt that this will solve your problem with FM2012 - but you should really consider updating to SP3. Start > Run ...type in ....winver .....ENTER This will confirm which you have. If you need to update .... click here
  5. Further to Nev's and Starbuck's comments: We do not advise that members contact other members via Skype or phone. We would certainly NOT recommend that you allow anybody to take control of your computer if this service is offered. ( the staff here would not offer this as an option ) If advice is kept in the forums we have complete control. If you choose to speak privately with another member this is then out of our control and we accept no responsibility for any problems that may arise as a result. By posting this I am not suggesting that markcarr is acting in an irresponsible manner - I am just stating the forum's position.
  6. This is a manual setting. You are best advised to let Windows manage the paging file. When you get to this stage .... http://images.brighthub.com/C4/2/C42A262F37D169EE7F5644751BDAAF5C69100B21_large.jpg Put a check in "System Managed Size" > Click Set > OK [yours may be a little different]
  7. No - not quite - I do have other threads / sites to look after :) Open IE Click the Tools button http://res2.windows.microsoft.com/resbox/en/Windows%207/main/448ef968-d58a-43a2-b0cc-f396f4024f2c_14.jpg, and then click Manage add-ons. Under Show, click All add-ons. Click Ask if it is there: To turn the add-on off so it can't be used in the browser, click Disable.
  8. Which Browser are you using?
  9. ?????
  10. Thanks Starbuck - I thought I was losing it for a bit there !! I hadn't realised I was posting in two threads :)
  11. If everything else is OK then I doubt it. Check my link in the previous post and let Windows manage your paging file.
  12. Have you downloaded Revo?
  13. Did you post saying that Ask would not let you run Revo ? This post and my reply have just disappeared !! ???? Did you d/l it?
  14. This is not right. It should not do this - I am no expert but this sounds like malware to me. Download MBAM from here: [click on Products in the toolbar - you want the free version] click here Install > Update and Run it. You may get redirected when you click on the download link - this is OK It will produce a log in Notebook. Copy this and post it here. If MBAM shows anything I will ask one of our security experts to advise further.
  15. Hi, Here are the system requirements for the game: PC System Requirements OS: Windows XP/Vista/W7 Processor: XP - 1.4GHz or Faster, Vista/W7 - 2.0GHz or Faster. Intel Pentium 4, Intel Core, AMD Athlon. Memory: XP - 512MB RAM, Vista/W7 - 1.0GB RAM Graphics: 128MB Supported Chipsets - Nvidia FX 5900 Ultra or greater; ATI Radeon 9800 or greater; Intel 82915G/82910GL or greater. Earlier cards may only display 2D Match Viewer Mode and are not supported. Earlier cards may require the DirectX 9.0 SDK is installed to run the game. This can be downloaded from the following url: DirectX Software Development Kit Laptop versions of these chipsets may work but are not supported. DirectX®: 9.0c Hard Drive: 2GB Sound: DirectX 9.0c compatible LAN: TCP/IP compliant Your system seems to be OK or better. Championship Manager 01/02 The system specs for this are even less - 64MB RAM The error massage refers to RAM ( Random Access Memory ) not the disk space available on the hard drive. However, you have 2GB reported and only 512MB is needed for a system running XP. It could also refer to Page File ( Virtual Memory ) which is directly linked. Your Page File looks fine too. I suggest having Windows manage this and not have it specified. click here If this doesn't fix it ......... It sounds as if something has malfunctioned at this point. Start > Run ....type in ....devmgmt.msc .......ENTER Click the + next to the devices listed. Are there any yellow exclamation marks or red Xs ?
  16. Hi and welcome to ExTS Download Revo from here: [scroll down to the bottom of the page to d/load the free version] click here Install and run it. It will list all software on your system. If Ask or Ask Jeeves is there - highlight it and click on "Uninstall" from the toolbar. When prompted if you select the "Advanced" option it will remove all traces.
  17. This could very likely be the case. If 4 flats are using one connection and all are downloading lots and using lots of bandwidth Virgin are going to take a dim view of this. They may well be sending the guy out to confirm what they suspect - multiple addresses piggy-backing off one router.
  18. Hi Jacqueline and welcome to ExTS Post your printer problem - I am sure that one of us will be able to help :)
  19. Hi, A new m/board will need a new operating system as the one on your old hard drive will not boot up if it detects major changes in hardware. Keep us informed re. the progress with the Video Card.
  20. It would be best to finish the tidying up fist - if there is any to do. I wrote a tutorial re. making an image of your system. ( complete copy of the hard drive ) You may be interested in this.
  21. Hi and welcome to ExTS We are not a gaming forum as such - but any technical problems we will try to help you with :)
  22. Hi and welcome to ExTS As Dave says - there really isn't a problem replacing the hard drive. Let us know the make and model number of your machine and we may be able to find a few pictures to help. You do realise that if you put in a new hard drive you will need to install an Operating System on it ?- unless this is a secondary drive. There may also be a way to get your data off the drive if you need to.
  23. Hi, Does this help? click here
  24. Hi I have put in the "quote" for you. To do this yourself - highlight the text in the post box when replying - then click on the button that looks like a speech bubble. If you mouse over the buttons it will say "Wrap
  25. I would have put money on it being the video card - but obviously not. Take the RAM out. Give the contacts a clean with a pencil eraser. Put just one module back. Try running on one module. If you get the same problem - swap the modules over and run on the other one. If you don't get the problem with just one RAM module in then the other is faulty.
