  1. Hi, What type of keyboard are you using? I assume that the keyboard is inactive as you cannot access the BIOS or the Diagnostic Options ( F12 ). You have tried to access the BIOS ? If this is a wireless keyboard try connecting a USB one. Also..... Locate the CMOS Battery on the motherboard and take it out. Leave it for 30 seconds to 1 minute then replace. ( Note the + is on top ). This will reset the BIOS to default settings. Are you getting any POST beeps when you switch on ? Was the date and time correct when you could boot up?
  2. This says it all - doesn't it ? Thread closed.
  3. Hi Porge, Let me know the web address of the supermarket please. There may be a work - around using the Hosts file on your computer.
  4. Hi and welcome to ExTS Take a look here: http://dlsvr.asus.com/pub/ASUS/mb/sock754/k8v_se_dx/e1872_k8v_se_deluxe.pdf Right at the end of chapter 2 ( 2 - 32 )
  5. Thanks Ash. Somebody else may find this useful.
  6. According to Dell F12 should get you to a diagnostics option. See here: http://support.dell.com/support/edocs/systems/dim3100/en/sm/adtshoot.htm#wp1124478 Try the Express Test first. (should take about 10 mins) This may be useful: http://support.dell.com/support/topics/global.aspx/support/kcs/document?&docid=DSN_300428&isLegacy=true
  7. Hi Ash, Good to hear that your problem seems to be solved. Can you let me know which suggestion worked for you please ?
  8. When I asked what you were trying to do I was expecting a simple addition to the Hosts file. The code you posted is, basically, written to enable you to have illegal software on your system. We are not in the business of assisting anybody to install or run illegal software. If this is all that you have joined this site for - then I suggest that you go elsewhere. I am not going to go as far as to ban you, I will leave it to your conscience. The major software producers often monitor sites - including this one. If asked we would be obliged to pass on your IP Address and email address. From this they would be able to identify your ISP and subsequently your home address. You have to ask yourself - is it worth taking a chance ?
  9. Hi and welcome to ExTS Our security experts are probably the bast people to explain how to do this with a batch file. You should not need to edit the Hosts file on a regular basis - so editing is often done via Notepad. What do you want to add - and why ?
  10. Let us know how you get on.
  11. Hi Michael and welcome to ExTS One of our security experts will get to you soon. Please be a little patient as they are very busy people.
  12. You are very welcome. Glad that it worked for you :)
  13. Hi and welcome. I think you need to change the Chanel on the router. Let me know which router and model number if you need further instructions. I am not here until Sunday evening after I post this.
  14. Hi I am on a flying visit I will reply to this properly on Sunday evening when I get home. I am going to suggest deleting upper and lower filters from the registry if they are there. Needs more time than I have at the moment. Please reply to this so that I will be reminded when I look at new posts. Take a look here http://extremetechsupport.com/threads/12501-CDROM-Drive-not-Working Post 4
  15. Hi and welcome to ExTS Go back to Device Manager. Click the + next to CDROM and right click on the drive. Uninstall. Re-boot. Windows should find "New Hardware" and re-install the drivers for your drive. =================== I am away until Sunday so somebody else may assist if this doesn't do it for you.
