1. I was editing my previous post when you posted. Can you have another read through and answer a couple of questions that I added please ? I will take a look at the card details in the mean time
2. Hi Re the drivers: If the Vid Card doesn't come with drivers on a disk then you can download them from the manufacturer's site. If you are running XP still - your motherboard may not have PCIe x 16 slot. It depends how old it is. If you are unsure - let us know and we can direct you to some software that will tell you. PCIe x16 is the slot for most newer cards. Depending on what card you select - you may need to upgrade the Power Supply Unit. It depends what you have as a PSU at the moment. If you post the make and model number of the card we can give you a bit more info on the PSU needed and and PCI power connections needed.
3. Great - enjoy your Video Card :)
4. I see you have had a couple of replies already :)
5. Hi I am uncertain if there is anybody here who will be able to advise. If not .... try here - click here There should be somebody there who can help :)
6. Hi Sorry to hear your sad news. Is this link of any use to you ? - click here You may need to decide what may and may not be worth trying.
7. Thanks for the logs Roy - I will ask one of our security experts to take a look and advise if there is any further action needed.
8. There was a "Step 2" in the link I gave you. This one .....click here Forbar will give further info on your system.
9. Hi Ray I have changed the Operating System in your Profile to " Windows 8.1 " If this isn't correct just let me know :)
10. Hi Roy Good to hear that you finally got rid if it. Windows sometimes does that and treats your Admin account as a restricted user ... the "Take Ownership" tool sometimes comes in handy :) The folder may be in the Recycle Bin ....you may wish to delete it from there too.
11. That is looking good ... There should be a Forbar and ADW log too :)
12. Let us know how you get on :)
13. Hi I have done a little more digging. In Control Panel > Programs and Features ..... is Command & Conquer Renegade or ASUS Wireless Router WL-500gP listed ? ======================== Take a look here - click here Follow Starbuck's instructions and post the logs here please. [ do not post them as files ...just copy and paste ] You may need to use 2 or 3 posts as there is a limit on each post.
14. Hi Take a look at option 2 here - click here I have this registry change on my system. After installing right click on the folder > click on "Take Ownership" Then try deleting again.
15. Hi download.exe can be malware. [ It could also be legitimate - but unnecessary ] Hold down the Windows key and tap "S" Type in Control Panel into the search box - click on the Control Panel box Click on ..Programs and Features If "Download.exe" is listed double click on it to uninstall. Let me know if this is successful .
16. Right click on the desktop - New - Folder Give it a name Left click and hold on the IE Icon and drag it over the new folder. Release the left button. IE Icon should now be in the new folder. Try right click on the folder > Delete
17. If you are having the same problem with both browsers then the problem probably lies with your router. Try unplugging the router power .....leave for 30 seconds ...plug it in again. I have had this problem before and it was the router that needed replacing.
18. An ethernet cable [ RJ45 ] is the blue or yellow cable that you use to connect your computer to the router. In this case you would use it to connect from your extender to your computer. The extender would need to be plugged into a socket in the "Shed". Some are wireless AND cable compatible. I think you would get a better connection using the cable, however, you could try it wireless and see what it is like if this is more convenient. My wireless connection is always 5 bars.
19. You are welcome .....let us know how you get on :)
20. Are you logged in using an Administrator Account ?
21. No problem :) Let us know how the reinstall goes.
22. Hi You could try a different browser - other than F-Fox. Chrome for instance. If this doesn't drop out then your problem lies with F-Fox. It could also be your router.
23. At least we are agreed on that :) If it is an SSD then it will not affect it if you have auto-defragmentation turned off. It is better for the drive.
24. if you cannot run an ethernet cable then they are the best option. I use mine in the house. When the normal wifi signal is down to 3 bars the extended signal is always 5 bars. Wireless or cable. You may get some dropping off of signal ..... it depends how far away the "shed" is. I would suggest an ethernet cable at the "Shed" end. Read reviews and see what users say.
