1. You never were any good at maths ! :) I did buy it second hand though ... The lacquered top has cracked with the central heating. The cracks don't go through to the wood but do spoil the appearance a bit. It still sounds OK - could do with a new set of machine heads.
2. That is nice Pete. I used to play 12 string in my late teens and early 20s .....I still have it ....an Eko Ranger 12 string.
3. let us know how you get on trying to save to external media :)
4. Try saving them to an external hard drive or a memory stick. I suspect that recovery software will not save to the same drive it is recovering from. If you can see the pics then there is a good chance we can get them back. Remember do not install or save anything to the computer - that includes auto updates ========== Regarding taking control of your system: I am afraid we do not do that - sorry. I know it seems an easy solution but look at it from our point of view. If we accessed your system then at some point in the near future you had your bank account hacked ...who would you look to initially ? Also if your system started playing up in the near future - same thing. Some people may have sensitive material on their computers and we would not want to be accused of accessing that. It is easier for us if we keep the advice to the forums. :)
5. Hi and welcome to ExTS :) Drivers missing ? I assume that you are referring to information from Device Manager ? Could you go to Device Manager and take a photo or screen shot and post it here please ? Once we know what we are looking for the drivers are available free from the P-Bell site. If you need any assistance posting an image just ask. If you know what you are looking for the drivers should be available here - click here Is your machine a TH36 .... this is the closest I could find to what you posted.
6. Hi You could give this one a try too - click here It is free to use. Make sure you click on the blue download link as when I had a look there were links to other stuff on the page. There are other free recovery options.
7. Good to see that the Chipset Drivers did their job :) Your Device Manager is now showing as it should. Let's see what the additional scans that Nev has suggested produce. I have my doubts that the system would boot up if the 12v rail was only getting 8.8v
8. Hi Did you take a look in the Recycle Bin ? They may be there. Do not install or save anything on this machine as this could over-write the section of the hard drive where your photos are. They should still be there - even though you can't see them. If they are not in the Recycle Bin ( usually on the Desk Top ) download Recuva from here: click here You want the FREE version. You can use the "Wizard" mode and if it is just photos you can specify File Type .... which would be .jpg
9. Hi mumblebee Thanks - that confirms that I had it right earlier. Your Chipset is Intel. The Model Number = H61 ( as I thought earlier ) Take a look here click here I have checked and although there are various options the most recent version is 9.4.0.1026 Click on 61MD-V and download the Chipset Drivers from there. Hopefully these will work for you. These should work with Win 8 and Win 7
10. Persistence paid off - well done :)
11. Hi Jim Good to hear that you now have the system up and running again. :)
12. Hi DirectX ( dxdiag ) is confirming Intel - but nothing else. I see that you have Speccy. If you click on "Motherboard" - this should confirm Intel for Chipset Vendor. We also want the Southbridge Model number please. I want to be sure that I direct you to the correct Chipset Drivers . If Speccy doesn't show the details I will have to go off the specs for the motherboard that I found.
13. Hi again - we haven't seen you for a while :) This is now a problem. If you are trying to connect to the internet - and have used the network before - then Windows should remember the login details. You shouldn't need to type in the Network Key ( the password ) If it is the first time on the network then the Administrator, whoever that is, will need to give you the Network Key. Usually the key is on a sticker somewhere on the router. If this key doesn't work then the Administrator must have changed it. If this is the case, we cannot help you by-pass the security on the router. Can you ask the Administrator for the Network Key ? ======= If you are trying to access the router software the problem is still the same I am afraid. We cannot assist by-passing security passwords.
14. No problem - good to hear it was an easy "fix" :)
15. The System management Bus Controller helps monitor system temperatures and fan speeds etc. This is often a problem when XP has been upgraded. Please do the following: Start > type in .....dxdiag .....hit ENTER Click on "Display" on the toolbar. I need to know what is written against "Name" and "Chipset" please. I am hoping is says "Intel H61" If it does the socket is LGA 1155 - [ This is for my reference .... :) ] I should be able to get the drivers for you after you confirm.
16. Hi I assume that you have seen this in Device Manager ? Go back to Device Manager > right click on the SM Bus Controller > click on "Uninstall" Reboot your computer. Check again in Device Manager. Windows should have re-installed the drivers. If it hasn't we will have to look for the chipset drivers for your motherboard.
17. Accounts have been merged .....georgeriley into georgeriley139. All posts that were with the georgeriley account will have been changed to georgeriley139 The post count for georgeriley will have been added to georgeriley139 georgeriley account no longer exists.
18. Hi Kev This is really another thread .... if what I suggest below does not work please start another thread for this one as it will get rather complex answering 2 totally different questions here :) Take a look at the Print Settings. Is there a setting for "text only" Just checked mine and I need to select "Photo" ...."Text" is the default.
19. Brilliant Nev - I had you down as a bitter man ???
20. Hi Yemi I don't understand why restarting multiple times would fix it - but happy to hear that your problem is solved :) Out of interest - did you try the "Last Known Good Configuration" ?
21. Hi and welcome to ExTS :) Is there a pattern to the beeps ? 1 long 2 short for instance? This may give us an indication as to the problem. Does this machine have a video card ? If it does - is there an on-board video too? ( an extra, separate connection for the monitor ) If there is - try taking the video card out and use the on-board connection. It may help if you let us know the make and model number of your PC.
22. I am not convinced that the ISO version that we can link to would be validated after installation as Jim's better half had an upgrade version of Win7 and not an OEM version. It would have been worth a try though.
23. Please answer Seedy21's questions first. Then: Re-boot the machine and constantly tap F8 about once per second. You should be taken to the Advanced Startup Options From the list select "Last Known Good Configuration" Take a look at Device Manager after this. Let us know if there is any change.
24. Try this M-$oft "FixIt" - click here Did you try this from my previous post ?
