I am getting access denied when trying to install NIVIDIA Drivers. I have searched the net for a solution and while it looks like lots of problems the solutions didn't seem apparent. I am running Vista Ultimate 64 at the most current level, I got this problem after a Windows update failed to install the most current driver for my EVGA e-GeForce 9800 x2. After trying to figure this problem I tried another Nividia card but even though a different version it still has the same problem! I have tried running in administrator mode but still the same problem, and I don't want to re-install Vista to fix it Help and advice to resolve please. View this thread

Every time I turn on my laptop, I get a message that there was a problem with this file and to uninstall and reinstall the program. Well the banner on the top of this error message is saying to reinstall verizon's in home agent program. What does this file do? It is located in c:program filescommon filesmotivemccieventx.dll. My laptop is now havin probelms installing updates. Are these related? I am using Vista OS|IE 9.0|Dell inspiron 1525. Please shed some light please. View this thread

After Platform Update for Windows 7 x64-Edition (KB2670838) forced installed itself on my computer (my settings have always been "let me choose which to download"(my computer shut down and started back up loading window updates) and my setting was now on "let windows download updates"( i had to switch it back again) but after the download all programs became slow or unresponsive. IE and Firefox was pretty useless as well as any other program I tried to open/test. IE did start trying to load a bing home page, but after open/closing/resetting I finally set it back to the MSN.com homepage. My Aero theme stopped. It said "Windows Desktop Manager disabled" but going to services it said it was started (tried stopping and restarting as well and still said it was started" but Aero won't pull up and kept telling me that WDM was still disabled. Oh and the windows update that started all this, it shows in update history but when going to remove installed updates, it doesn't show. I've matched up all the other updates but this one was the only one on 3/27/13 but in remove update section NO update is present on that day. Now I tried a system restore but now I get an error with that as well 0x80070003. My old Vista computer just got recently screwed by the Service Pack 3 update, so now my emergency computer I had for school is now shot, and now this update is screwing with my main computer. WHERE else could I look for and remove this update to try to get my computer back to working correctly? I'm using Toshiba computer/Win7 Home Prem./ 64bit................ However, I am concerned it is not fixed. I was going to use WUAUSERV to /unregister then /register. But, I have no WUAUSERV file, it is gone. Under "services" UPDATE/INSTALL looks good though I am not 100% sure what it all needs to be. I ran sfc /scannow received a large amount of issues. It generated a large log. Why is my taskbar icon turning orange twice daily and says potentially unprotected? When I Quick scan, it only takes about 30 seconds and turns green and says protected. I did a 3 hour full scan yesterday and no problems. What is going on? Should I uninstall and the reinstall or is something else recommended? FMB View this thread

My computer automatically upgraded on February 27 and since then my fonts have been deteriorating when using the internet. I use firefox to avoid the annoying ads on IE that you cannot block. Everything was working fine until the last upgrade. What gives? View this thread

In the lower right hand task bar there is an icon that shows I am logged into the internet. Two small computer monitors and a circular blue light. The other day I was offered 1 update. After the update the network connection icon was gone. I right clicked on the task bar area and went to properties. In there are 4 system icons. One is clock, then volume, then network, then power. Power is the only one that is not in bold text and thus does not allow the box to be checked. The update was not for Windows it was an update for MSE. It said the update was "needed" After the update, the check mark for the network icon, was removed and the box was not bold text and could not be checked. So, with the MSE update no network icon. I had to do a system restore to remove that MSE update. That gave me the network icon again. I asked the question on another forum and they said it is remotely possible that Microsoft does not know that the MSE update causes this disabling of the network icon in the taskbar properties for Vista. The update was this one: KB 2804527 (4.2.223.1) What is the fix for this? Currently, I'm without the update to MSE because I need the network icon. Thanks. View this thread
