Yesterday I was besides myself with my computer top problems. First the screen went upside down, then I lost the Icons and then the sceen got very small. Enter Kevin Hau,he helped me so much and does not even know it, I was on the right page and started to undestand what I had to do. kevin has a very gentle touch so Ladies can understand all this technical stuff. This morning I checked my notes and organized them so I can use them again if need be, and I realized that I didn not check a certain button to let Kevin know that I so appreciated his work. Windows update installs the same 2 updates (KB2656351 and KB2600217) everytime i turn off my laptop which is extreemly frustrateing as it takes over 30mins to turn off as well as filling my update history wth the same two updates. ive had this problem a long time and have tried the following with no sucess: - all possible updates for my laptop - virus scans - deleteing unwated software - taking it back to the shop (who didnt have a clue what to do) - reinstalled windows however after a couple of weeks the problem reappeared. - disableing windows update (did not stop the updates) - manualy un-checking the two persistant updates (which doesnt stop them from being downloaded and installed) It seems people have similar problems with other updates but no solution; does anyone have any idea how to solve this? I have this problem with recently installed Windows 8. The print command on all programs does not work. The moment i choose print or print preview command the program hangs. Initially it was working OK but with a few updates this problem would occur and with new update it will dissappear automatically. But now for last ten days the print command is not working. In a database access program i cannot even go to a form where the command button will print reports on the screen. All other pages I can navigate but for the report page. Hoe can I solve the problem? I have tried to shut all programs on startup but the problem remains the same. Please help. View this thread

Hi, i have downloaded the MSE for Win7 64bit at http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/security-essentials-download. After the download and when installing the file, it says file is corrupted. I'm using a service pack 1, i assume it doesn't concern any service pack with my OS. Do you know where can I download the working installer? Or any idea how can install it correctly? Thanks. I have a 3 week old Samsung laptop NP350V5C. I have done little on it except try and learn Windows 8 and last week bought & loaded Office Pro 13. Before this I had some problems with the laptop being slow or unresponsive with the internet - wouldn't open other browsers, wouldn't open some links. Since late last week I have had problems loading MS Office, I couldn't even register it, and now the Store has ceased to work. The Store charm says '33' at the bottom. I don't know what that means. Clicking on it just opens the green screen with the bag on it, and nothing happens. I can't understand why the Office software won't work - I tried de-installing, repairing, nothing happens. I have given up and I have now tried a PC restore to a restore point 10 days ago, hopefully so I can get the Store to work again and I can re-load the Office software (I have a link AND a disk). However it has been 'restarting' for nearly 2 hours now. This must be a problem with the PC - restarting should not take over an hour, never mind two. What do I do with the 'Restarting' screen? What will happen if I turn the PC off? Can I turn it off? View this thread

I tried to update my laptop because it turned of unexpectedly and when i turned it back on it said windows start up repair. the repair worked for about to days and then it happened again and when it did windows start up repair it failed to repair it. I did a diagnostic and the hard drive and etc. were fine. It told me to click finish to shut down the computer. I clicked it and the laptop shut off. i turned it back on and it came back to its normal state. i tried to update the laptop about a month ago but it did not work. it says i have a problem with my NVIDIA driver. I have Intel 64 bit Win 7 however the x64 mse installer wants to install for AMD and the installer reports it as File Corrupt dialog infront of another dialog indicating AMD64. There is not other version for i5 Intel 64bit. Is there an Intel version and if so, where can I get the correct installer? Anyone else have this issue? View this thread

I change my antivirus from Nortons to AVG2003 (Trial Version) Ran the different diagnostic programmes that came with AVG (I think this is where the problem lies) as my computer was very slow. My computer is a lot faster now,except for the problem of Windows updates. I install the six updates (kb 2789642, kb2656351, kb2604121, kb27425915, kb2729449, kb2737019,... but then the same updates are offered time and time again. Control panel shows they are already installed. I've tried rebooting straight after installing them. Running MS safety scanner, MS fixit and fixitcenter setup. I've also tried turning off the AVG in msconfig, but after deselecting the AVG components it won't accept the change. What can I do Yours sincerely Jaslyn View this thread

Álso Windows update has been successfully updating ( KB2656351 & KB2600217 ) for the last fortnight over & over again at least 15 times, but has not stuck.Microsoft recomended to download a "free" fixit program (It cost over $50 )& this program has not done what it was supposed to do.
