  1. Great Day Games Sports, the game is volleyball. The game stops working. "a script in game is running too slow." My computer stops working. I've already alerted GDG to my problem. If it is something in the gaming code, they may be able to fix it. I keep running into problems with some programs that stop my computer. I was worried that I had been hacked but that doesn't seem to be the case. I've signed up for auto updates. That didn't really help anything. I get the message as I'm getting ready to shut down my computer that the update will occur 2 days later and restart. How do I uninstall Windows 8? I'm tired of the problems. View this thread
  2. Microsoft alerted me that there were 3 viruses on PC, & prompted me to clean PC, How do I know for sure that they are gone? This is the #rd day that Microsoft has alerted me about the same viruses. I ran a full scan & it stated that there were no more threats. It concerns me that I keep getting the same message after 3 days. View this thread

The update has installed on my computer but the Automatic update icon still remains in the system tray and is prompting me to install it! I have tried removing the update and reinstalling but the problem remains the same. How do I remove the icon or cancel the update please? Also I have Microsoft .NET framework 1.1, 2 and 3 all loaded on my computer. Do I need to have all three? 7. I usually let Windows Update do what it needs to do but it has installed these two updates over 20 times and every time I sign on it downloads them again. Any ideas? Security Update for Microsoft .NET Framework 4 on XP, Server 2003, Vista, Windows 7, Server 2008, Server 2008 R2 for x64 (KB2656351) and Update for Microsoft .NET Framework 4 on XP, Server 2003, Vista, Windows 7, Server 2008, Server 2008 R2 for x64 (KB2600217) View this thread
  8. Hi, I have .net 3.5 enabled on Windows 8 enterprise x64. I cannot get http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2789650 installed via WU or via the standalone file. What do I need to get this updated because I think it is blocking other updates from coming through. View this thread

  10. When I restarted Windows 8, a message showed that the system has been updated. Strange that I have disabled Windows Update from downloading any updates after I had to run a Windows 8 Reset. I allowed the updates from Windows Update to install at that time, but after they all installed, I disabled Windows Update. Now all programs crash in Windows 8. For example, when I open Word 2010 and try to either open a document (File - Open or press Ctrl O), Word crashes. If I try to view a JPG or PNG view using the Windows Photo Viewer, it tried to open the graphic file to where it look like it will be viewable and crashes. When I try to view the history of updates installed via Windows Update, it crashes. I can get to Windows Update where it shows this is disabled, but when I click on view history that is when it crashes. When I run Windows Defender in the Control Panel to see if there are any infections, Windows Defender will not even run. Double-clicking on Windows Defender does nothing. The C:WindowsWindowsUpdate.log file indicates the file is in use and I cannot even copy the file somewhere else to view it. Of the programs that I had installed in Windows 8, they were running without error or constantly crashing from the time I reloaded the system to now. With every new update either the problem occurs or gets disappeared, but from 15th of Feb the problem is there and even the update of 17th did not solve the problem. Why these problems occur, we are unable to degrade to Windows 7, atleast Windows 7 worked. The Windoes 8 and windows 2013 dont work at all View this thread

  16. Just trying Fresh Paint on a X-Series ThinkPad Tablet with a Wacom digitizer stylus. Unfortunately Fresh Paint won't recognize the stylus on the canvas itself. I'm able to flick from the bottom and get the palette and even choose colours. But when I try and apply it to the canvas nothing happens. Tried mouse and keyboard and that works. Any help appreciated. View this thread
  17. In Device Manager, under System Devices, just under Intel 82801AA LPC Interface Controller is ISAPNP Read Data Port with a small yellow shield with a ! in it. Right clicking it, then Properties gives the General tab that has the title of this post. I've done the Troubleshooter 3x now for no fix. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the device via Device Manager, with a dog's job getting Windows to find / list ISAPNP in the Devices List later when using Add Hardware Wizard as it won't let me use it. Every time I've tried to open the Wizard it is busy trying to install another device and it cannot load up 2 devices at once so please try again later. I've updated the Driver with Internet support "No better match found", ISAPNP is on Intel 82801AA LPC Interface Controller so I updated driver for it (same result). Checked out ISAPNP status in Hardware Resources under System Info (msinfo32.exe) Gives the resources as 0x00000279 - 0x00000279 and further down as (zeros)A79 - .....A79 in I/O and states it is OK. It does not show in Conflicts / Sharing, nor in Forced Hardware. But in Components under Problem Device it is the sole listing ISAPNPREADDATAPORT with Error Code as in the title. This problem "device" seems to give rise to no connection from the 2 USB ports (all of which are OK, functioning normally and all active wherever I've come across them in all the (viewing of/status of) Hardware spots in XP. Computer is a Compaq Presario V2656 Notebook (late 2006). It has an AMD Mobile Sempron 3100+ CPU and 1 gig of DDR RAM and a 40G HDD which has the Presario recovery partition of 6.5G and 31G for C: I've spent hours over several days searching the internet, forums and Microsoft knowledge base site for anything to do with ISAPNP, Device Manager, USB ports not providing a connection, etc. etc. and am at the end of my tether. Nothing but the AC Adapter cable and the RJ45 Ethernet cable is connected to the machine during any of this troubleshooting I've been doing. I've freshly installed AVAST Free Antivirus and done boot-time scans and Malwarebytes but found no malware. Could someone please, with experience of how to fix both the ISAPNP Code 10 and the Hardware Wizard forever locked into installing some totally unknown new hardware, take the time to reply with the solutions. I am happy to use regedit if registry keys are corrupted or repairing the i386 Driver cache .dll if it has become corrupted or virus altered via the Win XP install CD. Thank you in advance to anyone who puts time into this problem for me and others who may later use the solution(s). Nightowl_7 View this thread
  18. So a while ago (a couple of months) I was having problems due to a bad stick of ram. I didn't realize this and kept trying to get windows to install updates (got as far as sp1). It crashed a lot while doing sp1 and never finished. After a crash I would get some windows update error (like the one above) and I would troubleshoot it for a while until it would let me install sp1 again. A combination of microsoft fixes and sfc/chkdsk usually worked. Anyway I gave up for a while and just used windows without the newer updates. The ram got worse and I eventually replaced it. Everything on my computer is stable. Now I'm trying to fix Windows update again so I can properly install sp1 but the fixes I used previously don't work. sfc /scannow Gives an error if run from windows. I got it to run by booting from a windows dvd and deleting pending.xml before running it. It says there are no problems. chkdsk No corruption found System update readiness tool: http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=20858 Runs and says it installed successfully but doesn't fix anything. Microsoft Automatic troubleshooter Runs and says it fixes a bunch of things: Potential Windows Update Database error detected 0x80070002Possible issues may prevent Windows Update from keeping your system up to date. 20. Windows 7 Pro, new computer, all updates ran, no other anti-virus. tried installing in safe mode, rebooting, redownloading, downloading on another computer and then bringing installer over, checked to see that I had the right version 64 bit, tried everything I could think of. Installer starts and then gives dialog, file corrupt, and installation ceases. Simply cannot install MS Security Essentials, which had installed easily on other computers in the past. Don't know how to get this to work and install! View this thread

  25. running windows 7 64 bit ultimate service pack 1 tried the repair thing from the help tried almost everything windows update just wont work and I uninstalled security essentials this is not just on my machine its on my wife's laptop same 64 bit ultimate this all happened after a windows update on the Feb. 14th 2013 that was the last day security essentials updated then the error. I am not a newbie and I feel this is a virus or a malware that is targeting windows 7 scanned with malwarebytes and nothing came up did the scan in safe mode with networking. One thing i did notice in the task manager windows error reporting service has been popping on and off like a virus would tried to disable it and it does change anything so any help would be great.
