On every boot Windows Update has .Net Framework 1.1 Security Update SP1 KB2742597. The installation fails and pops up again. I have re-installed .Net Framework 1.1 which did not help. I am running XPSP3. I have recently installed BitDefender Total Security 2013 which may be involved. I also keep getting the following event: The MATS service encountered a failure when getting HTTP proxy settings. hr=0x80072F94. MATSvc is listed in the BitDefender Firewall (Allowed). I have trouble restarting my computer in normal mode, only runs in safe mode when I turn the on button under f1 function. I desinstalled the projector dispositive because I press the wrong button that will block the screen, and only can se when I plugg it to a projector screen. View this thread

MS Essentials keeps alerting me (potentially unprotected in red) that i need to run a scan.I do and five minutes later i get sme alert.I ran full scan just yesterday with no malacious items then but this morning i run a quick scan and right after i get another warning to run a scan or that i haven't run a scan in awhile,which isn't tthe case. how do I know that Security Essentials installed onmy PC is the 64 bit version & not the 32 bit version? I have 64 bit Windows but note that when SE scans, many scanned files say "windows/32bit". This leads me to suspect that i have the wrong version of SE. Pls advise. Thanks. View this thread

Tengo un problema con las actualizaciones de Windows Update, mi sistema operativo es el Vista, ya desde hace un par de meses hay una actualización ( KB2487367) que el equipo me pide actualizar yo actualizo ,aparte que tengo Windows Update para que actualice las recomendadas automaticamente,al actualizar seguidamente me vuelve a pedir volver actualizar y asi consecutivamente,comprobé en número de actualización y es el dicho anteriormente (KB2487367) he utilizado la herramienta gratuita de Microsoft Fix it para Windows Update despues de utilizarla me dice que todos los problemas estan corregidos, pero hay un detalle que dice que la ubicacion de las actualizaciones ha cambiado y debe repararse a la ubicación predeterminada,y no sale corregido si no, no ejecutado, pero el mensaje final dice Windows Update no requiere ninguna atención pero el problema persiste,por favor agradecería urgentemente ayuda a este problema,aparte que la opción de Fix it on line quiero entrar pero tengo que entrar en la pagina de Microsoft y me dice que lo intente más tarde, parece que la tengo bloqueada, entro en ayuda y no encuentro manera algo que no comprendo a la hora de meter caracteres meto los caracteres correctos y nada una y otra vez por favor agradeceria y repito ayuda,gracias. The following 5 updates are downloaded and installed everytime I startup the computer. At each shutdown these are also re-installed again. According windows update these updates are poperly installed. The 5 updates are: KB2468871, KB2487367, KB2533523, KB2600217 and KB2656351. This problem started a few weeks before. Hello I hope some one can help me so i can use my nice Vista home premium 32 but computer again. its driving me crazy why I am stuck in configuring stage 3 of 3 at 0% since 18-13 updates. tha last 5 years i have never had a problem finishing getting the updates. Now i have seen other ppl having this stuck in this loop and can't get out fora long time and microsoft has not had a update fix for this. But I have a desktop gateway GM5420 and I'm not that good at fixing any software issuss I happen to get from time to time. but this is the worts one. I have read KB949358 and i can't do most of the fixes there. And i have tried all F8 functions and they all go back to configuring stage 3 of 3. and I have trired a few things on F2 and F10 and when the computer starts up it still goes back to configuring stage 3 of 3 at 0%.. Can some one please give me some step by step instructions on how to fix this so i can use my nice vista desktop because i have to many things on the hard drive i don't just want to throw way. there has to be a easy fix by now?? I hope i get all of help because I'm a 100 % disabled Vet. and just can't go out and put down 600 to 1000.00 for another nice computer desktop. My Windows 8 Pro desktop is freezing on the start menu screen right after signin. I cannot interact with any of the start menu tiles and the Win-key shortcuts are unresponsive. Ctrl-alt-del works but the task manager will not launch after selecting it. However, having a multiple monitor setup, I can see that my desktop environment taskbar appears on another screen but remains grayed out/unresponsive indefinitely. When I press the Start key multiple times or double-click on the taskbar, the explorer process seems to freeze and restart itself and the system continues to load normally becomes operable. The issue was first encountered after installing one of the recent Windows updates but because my system restore points are wiped I cannot roll back the updates. Am running 32-bit Win XP Pro SP3. Browser is IE8. I spent several days trying to rid myself of Trojan: JS/IframeRef. Microsoft Security Essentials (MSE) stopped mentioning said Trojan but switched to Trojan: JS/Seedabutor.B as of yesterday. I can find no mention in this forum regarding my new threat. The related items are: file:C:Documents and SettingsJaneLocal SettingsTemporary Internet FilesContent.IE57QSXKEVJwebgetclick_com[#].htm file:C:DOCUME~1JaneLOCALS~1Temptmp1AD1.tmp The bracketed number varies but otherwise the item appears to be the same. As Administrator in the Safe Mode, I removed all *.tmp files from C:Documments and SettingsJaneLocal SettingsTemp and deleted the 7QSXKEVJ folder from file:C:Documents and SettingsJaneLocal SettingsTemporary Internet FilesContent.IE5. While still Administrator in the Safe Mode I ran a full scan on MSE and it appeared to have eliminated Trojan: JS/Seedabutor.B. When I did a normal reboot, however, I received messages to the effect that threats had been detected and that no action was required on my part. I received an email on 01.05 entitled, RESET ALERT CONFIRMATION, from WINDOWS Live (*** Email address is removed for privacy ***). It is a VIRUS NOTIFICATION of a DGTFX Virus in my folders. It wanted my name, Username, Password, Date of Birth and Country or Territory. It said I will loose my account if I do not reply. Last year I received a similar email, replied and all my contacts were notified that I was away and needed money. I also lost the account. Is this a legitimate email from Windows Live Alerts?
