When I try to install the March Update (3/28/13), I get the Windows Update error 800F0203. I tried a selective boot (disabled all non-MS services), tried the Troubleshooting Windows Update tool in Windows 8, and still no progress. All other updates install normally, and the system is fully up-to-date as of 4/1/2013 except for this update. Anybody from Microsoft have any ideas? View this thread

I have tried to use the speech recognition in the english version, it worked very well. I was fascinated by the accuracy. In the near future there will be no need for the electromechanical keyboard and the mouse. Speech recognition and onscreen devices will be enough to control the computer. When I try to run Windows Update I get an error code 8024800A and I'm unable to get any updates. I tried to run system restore. I had two choices, one month ago and two months ago. I chose the one month ago. That didn't work so I went back to try to do the two months ago, only that choice was no longer available. Now what do I do to fix this problem? View this thread

Security update for SQL Server 2005 Service Pack 3 (KB970892) continually fails to install, what can I do to overcome this ? The update has tried to install automatically dozens of times but it keeps failing, is there something I can adjust that will enable this to install. Whenever I try to start the Windows 8 update service, it fails with error 1053: "The service did not respond to the start or control request in a timely fashion." The service cannot start at all. Please note that renaming the Window's SoftwareDistribution directory does not fix this problem. I also cannot view the update history, although I was able to install updates until about a month ago. My windows essentials full system scan tells me I am infected with Trojan:win32/sisproc, even though it tries to remove it, it says erroe and then it is quarantined but when I rescan it seems to be active again, yesterday my security essentials was turned off (not by me) and I rescanned and there was the Trojan again. Hi, Need your advise and guide. 1) I just turn on the Windows Defender Service on my home desktop, the operating system is Windows 8. Not sure how to shown windows defender ICON on task bar. And I would like to set the scanning schedule. Can you please help me. 2) Does Windows defender service monitor the network as well, such as surf the external network. 3) Before I turn on, I was using network agent "Norton Anti Virus" advised by the retailer.
