Everytime i shut down, these 2 updates are installed (started on 3/6)...How can i can i stop these updates? I have tried several times to install SP1 for vista on my laptop. When the download is through the message says it was installed successfully. However when updates come back up SP1 is still there and it still says I'm running vista home premium without the SP1 being displayed in the windows edition when I right click on computer and check properties. Can someone please tell me what the heck is going on and how I can fix it. I have downloaded and installed all other updates including recommended and optional. I would like to upgrade to windows 7 but I can't until SP1 is installed. View this thread

Hello, I have had my laptop for only 1 month, and have experienced problems since I set it up. Most recently and constantly, my windows 8 laptop is getting a blue screen, saying it has ran into a problem, needs to restart and is saying it has a service_system_exception. My Dad just bought an EasyNote TE about 3 hours ago. When we got it home we filled in all the setting up pages that come up when you first turn it on. However, when this is completed an error window comes up saying ''Windows cannot complete the installation. To install windows on this computer, restart the installation.'' We have turned off the laptop and went through the setting up pages 3 more times and windows will still not start. Is this something that can be fixed or will we have to return the laptop? Hello I've tried to install Service Pack 1 for Windows 7 via Windows Update, but it refuses to install. Basically when I check for updates, I select SP1, click Install Updates, but when it finishes downloading and starts installing, it says its failed. Sometimes it'll say its failed before it can even download :s I am fully updated, running Windows 7 Pro 64-bit. If you need more info, please ask. Thanks! I have not gotten a response from their support team - any ideas if there is a fix for this? The affected games are Minesweeper, TapTIles and Mahjong that were installed through the APP store. The Solitaire games are fine, although my score history was lost. I have tried uninstall/reinstall of the games but nothing helps. Everything was fine before the automatic update ran. I opened my History in MSSE and noted the following entry. I do NOT remember 'allowing' it. So what do I do to delete or remove the file. The History does not show the location of the file or it's name. The 'type' is listed as such: HackTool:Win32/Keygen Any help would be appreciated. ps Unfortunately I run a batch file that clears EVERY log file known to man before shutting down. I recently installed Windows 8 64x on an Intel Core2 Quad Q9550 (2.83 GHz) with 4GB of RAM. After Windows performed an automatic update I was notified of a coming restart. I proceeded to watch a video in my Chrome web browser. After several minutes, Windows performed an automatic restart. Upon reloading I was brought to the Start screen and Chrome was also loaded somewhere in the background - evidenced by the sound of the video I had been watching playing. I could not switch to the desktop view neither by pressing the flag key on my keyboard nor by situating my mouse one of the left corners - where no thumbnail of the desktop was displayed. The right corners both gave me the expected menu, and I ended up managing to get to the desktop view by selecting Chrome from the Start menu. BUT I am troubled by the fact that, other than by opening an application (or selecting an already opened one) that runs purely in the desktop view, I was unable to switch over... Is there some obvious thing I'm missing? Is this a known bug? Is there anything that can be done about it? View this thread
