I HAVE A WINDOWS 7 HOME PREMIUM X 64 BASED PC AND WHEN I SCAN THE COMPUTER USING MBSA IT KEEPS COMING BACK INSTANTLY WITH INCOMPLETE SCAN.( ISSUE): SECURITY UPDATES AND THE (RESULT): MBSA CANNOT SCAN COMPUTER BECAUSE TARGET COMPUTER IS NOT ASSIGNED TO A WSUS SERVER. Hi, I cannot install Windows Virtual PC on my 64-bit Windows 7 Pro system. The KB fails during the update at the 97% complete point (after it reboots) every time. I installed XP Mode first as MS website states, then tried 2nd step to install KB958559 but it fails. I have no antivirus other than MS Security Essentials and no other interfering products (VMware or alike). I've spent hours by trying other suggestions in other posts - still no success. I was answered by helpful people. In trying to update Windows Security, I still get error 80070020. I tried all of the helpful suggestions. Nothing has worked. I thought aboug deleting the entire program, and down load again. What do you think? THE FOLLOWING IS QUESTION # 2. I downloaded a supposedly free program called PC Mighty Max 2011, just to find out that it was not free. After I had gone through the steps and found out I had to buy it, I tried to delete it. I have tried to delete the program but there is no way. While I am on the computer, I have 2 popups from the program that constantly popup. It says I have 89 errors that need to be fixed. I cannot get rid of it. I went into the control panel and uninstalled all parts of it. I even tried calling the company that manufactures it without success. I cannot afford to buy it. And I feel I was lied to by it stating it was free. That is being done with most 'free' programs. CAN anyone help me with this problem, too? I really appreciate any help. View this thread

I keep getting the SAME UPDATES OVER & OVER & OVER!! I have been wordering WHY my HardDRive Space IS DWINDLING AWAY TOO FAST! I dont have a whole lot of room left! HOW TO FIX THIS ERROR?? KB2600217 (8) times at (32MB) EACH TIME KB2656351 at (9MB) EACH TIME. I HAVE WONDERING & TRYING TO FIGURE OUT WHY MY FREE SPACE ON MY HHD (SSD), IS GOING IN SUCH A FAST RATE. I recently reinstalled Vista 32 bit. It says that SP1 is installed but the update only took about 15 seconds and the computer never restarted which leads me to beliieve it is not installed. Also under the properties of my comuter is does not say SP1. Have tried downloading it directly from the Microsoft website and that did not work either. Thoughts? View this thread

A few days ago I cloned a hard drive that was about to give up on me. I cloned it to a smaller hard drive of the same brand and kind only a bit smaller. Now, windows update won't work and for some reason I also can't install driver updates. Windows finds the updates needed, downloads them and then gives me a Code 80070426 error. I've run all the Fix-it files that microsoft provides for this error but without succes. Is it something with the registry not linking the new hard drive in the same way as it did the old? Does anyone have a clue how to solve this? I run Windows 7 Home Edition on a Gateway ZX4800. Thanks! /Andreas View this thread

Acabo de instalar Windows 8 a una laptop Toshiba, primero descargo 31 actualizaciones y la reinicie. Encendió normal. Unos minutos después ya había descargado otra 5 actualizaciones, la reinicie y la pantalla se puso algo rara. Volvió a encender normalmente pero al ingresar a mi cuenta, la pantalla de inicio estaba negra y solamente estaba el ratón. Presionaba la combinación de ctrl+alt+supr, y la pantalla se normalizaba. Tengo otra laptop que le instale Windows 8 el segundo día que salio a la venta, y hasta ahora no he tenido ningún problema con las actualizaciones. I have a newly installed Windows 7 PC and it is no longer searching for updates. Hi all. I just built a new computer basically from scratch and I need to install an OS. My university is offering the upgrade to win8 (and I think also win7, which is the one I am most interested in), but since it is an upgrade, they clearly state that I need to have a previous version fully installed and activated. This is very logical but I have a slight problem. I do have a win xp CD lying around, but the problem is that it doesn't have the SATA divers needed to detect my HDD. I also don't have a floppy to install the driver manually using F6. Yes I know that there are way arounds, but they are pretty complicated and frankly I would like to avoid that if at all possible. Also since win xp is x32, installing a x64 would be an other problem... if indeed it would be possible at all, and I very much prefer a x64 version of win7 then a x32 version. I have read at a few trustworthy forums (like www.sevenforums.com) that it is possible to do a clean install, using an upgrade version of win7, by choosing to do the custom installation and that it is not necessary to have any version of windows installed. Technically I only have to own it... I find this pretty confusing and hard to believe and I suspect it is some sort of violation of the EULA. Thats why I have decided to ask in the official forum, hoping to get and official answer. IS is possible to do a full installation of win7 using the upgrade disk, without having an other version of windows installed and activated? And if so, will the upgrade key let me activate win genuinely, even though there never was any OS activated with that PC at any time? Please don't think of me as rude or unappreciative, I am very thankful for the help I always get in forums, but Again, I ask in the official forum, because I want a definitive answer, not only about it being possible or not but also about it being legal or not. As I said, I technically own a version, I just don't want to activate it, because its pretty complicated to do. 40£ is not throw away money for me, so please only answer if you are sure. I have tried everything possible and available in the WWW when it comes to error code 800B0100. my system is simply refusing to install the SP1 update and it starts having an effect on the performance of the OS.
