Several weeks ago, I was Googling images and, after left-clicking one for display, I was taken to it's website. When I attempted to save the image, I was prompted to download Java. This confused me as I just assumed it had already been installed - but no, so I downloaded it with no problems. Java has changed the way a few of my usual pages respond or display - some I like better.. some not. The biggest difference has been the decrease in overall response times whether I'm off-line or on-line. I went from having almost instantaneous responses to left-clicking (whatever) to waiting 10 or more (usually more) seconds for a new on-line page or tab to open.. sometimes timing out. Even off-line, opening folders and files used to flash open immediately, but now some take several seconds at times - like they're 'stuttering'. Is everything I do filtered through Java in some way, slowing the system down? View this thread

When I try to open some posts on the Facebook home page, I don't always have audio. Video (if there is video in the post) is fine, but audio is there for some posts, not for others. Can't find any common thread; e.g., some of the problematic posts are from YouTube, some aren't, and for some YouTube posts the audio's OK. The questions similar are not Windows 8, so Im wondering why the new computer I bought 2 weeks ago, has turned itself off every day, and shows a Windows error on reboot, and ask me to "Send or Not Send" the file so Microsoft may work on it. I have Windows Media Player version 11.0.6002.18311 which I use to rip and burn music mostly. When I download music it usually goes into my Music folder on the hard drive and eventually finds it's way into WMP library. Sometimes I have to physically open the file to give it a bit of a nudge. However recently I downloaded an Album and tried to burn it through WMP, which can be temperamental at the best of times, and accidently deleted it in the process . After retrieving and replacing the files back into my Music folder from the recycle bin I can still play them on my computer through WMP but I cant get them back into the library for some reason. Hi, in my startscreen I have many apps. Now when I start an app at the right of my startscreen I scroll there and start the app. If I now close the app or press the Start button I am back at the startscreen, but not at my previous position. I am at the left side of the startscreen again. Should I not be at the horizontal position I was before? I often want to start an app directly beside or near the app I started before. Thank you. I have had the same 2 updates for microsft.NET framework 4 downloaded and installed ("successfully") everyday for the last 2 weeks. Sometimes 2 times a day. Something must be wrong. After my laptop recently froze, it elected to unfreeze itself in all I can describe as 'portrait' mode instead of its normal 'landscape' mode. This means that I can only use my laptop at the moment with it stood on its edge. How do I return the computer to is normal 'landscape mode, so I can start using the laptop normally again? Recently, my Microsoft Wireless Comfort Keyboard 4000 decided it wasn't going to use the letter "v" anymore as well as CTRL+"v", though for some reason it will start working again after the keyboard has been shut down and uninstalled for a couple of weeks. To say the least this is highly frustrating almost as bad as clicking on the apostrophe key and having an accented "e" pop up. To fix that one I have to continually hit CTRL and ALT at the same time for a couple of minutes before it goes back to the proper punctuation mark.I've had this keyboard now for a couple of years and really never had problems before until about five months ago, now it seems to come on a fairly recurring basis.
