I built my system four years ago with a full copy of Windows Vista. Since then, I purchased a 3 license upgrade to Windows 7 Home Premium. I upgraded this system and a laptop with that copy. Now, I performed a major upgrade on my main system, replacing the motherboard, cpu, memory and main hard drive. I did a fresh install using the windows 7 disks, assuming it would ask for me to provide my Vista disk, but it never did. The installation completed successfully, and now, 3 days later, I received an activation error. The automated phone system didn't work either, saying I did not meet the licensing requirements. What can I do? View the thread

I seemed well on my way to installing the trial, as I successfully downloaded the image and received the activation code. I am now confronted with a dialog reading 'A disc burner wasn't found...'. The dialog gave no other options. I haven't used an optical drive in years. There has to be a way to install without an optical drive. What are my options? Thanks! View this thread

I have a Lenovo X230, Windows 7 Professional, 64-bit Thinkpad. I have another just like it, only one year older. The new machine will not let me set up a logical drive. The only menu choices in the Computer/Disk Management applet is for dynamic drives. Is this a "new feature"? I've added logical drives to literally hundreds of PCs in the past, including last years X220T, with the "same" hardware/software. Lenovo Tech support says its "out of their scope" and Microsoft ways its a vendor issue. I can still send the machine back for a refund or exchange, but I get the feeling I may have the same problem/issue again. The hard drive is a solid state drive (as was last years). Any knowledge or ideas about this issue? Thanks. View the thread

We are in the process of upgrading our exchange server to 2010 from 2003. I have a couple of users with mailboxes on the new exchange 2010 server who are having a very odd issue. Everything works but their outbound internal email to mailboxes on the exchange 2003 server. They get no bounce back messages, but they do not go through when sent from their Outlook 2013 clients. If sent from their mobile devices or the OWA site, they go through no problem. They send/receive under all other circumstances fine. I see nothing in logs, this is only thing I have seen in their synch issues log in the clients (I replaced server name and user name to protect the innocent :-) ): 8:50:54 Synchronizer Version 15.0.4420 8:50:54 Synchronizing Mailbox 'Doe, John' 8:50:54 Synchronizing local changes in folder 'Drafts' 8:50:54 Uploading to server 'IM06.abcdefg.abcdefg' 8:50:54 Synchronization of some deletions failed. 8:50:54 [0-130] 8:50:54 1 item(s) deleted in online folder 8:50:54 Done Please help!!!! On sending an email to a closed account, a pane opens that says, "some errors occurred etc" & gives me an error 550 message & says that the message couldn't be sent to that email address. I can't seem to stop the error message from poping up every time I have an incoming or outgoing message. [Moved from feedback] View this thread

Hello guys, This is the scenario. I am using Outlook 2013 and Windows 8 Enterprise. Simply drag a email from your inbox to a folder on your disk. Right-click on one of the column headers (i am in details view) - and choose More... There are many e-mail related fields visible: from, to, cc, bcc, etc... select them all It is obvious, the e-mail related fields do not use the file contents of a Outlook .msg file to fill in this metadata fields. But i was wondering how and with what this does work? And does anybody know a way to fill this Windows Explorer metadata fields? Already, thank you very much, Sven View the full article

So when I go to open my Photos App on my Microsoft 8 start tile page thing, the tile flips towards the screen and as soon as the tile fills up the screen everything just goes back to the start tile page thing again. This is really annoying and it does the same thing with the Messaging app, but I really don't care about that app. I've uninstalled it and installed again and there was no difference. What the heck did I do? And how do I fix this issue? View the full article
