OS: Windows 8 Pro x64 Resiliency: Parity 5 Drives (WD 3TB x 3, WD 750GB, WD 500GB) Using 6.67TB of 8.86TB pool capacity Today I arrived home to find that there was an issue with one of the drives in my Storage Spaces pool. The disk displayed the error 'Warning stale, enable pool'. After rebooting the workstation the disk is now displaying the error message 'Warning Disconnected; reconnect drive'. The drive is spinning up and appears in the 'Safely Remove Hardware and Eject Media' menu in the taskbar. The LED on the drive is also flashing as though data is being read/written from/to it. Am I able to simply format the drive and add it back to the pool? Will this rebuild the data using the parity from the other drives? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance. Hello, i am doing a windows 7 file recovery as a daily backup for my windows 8-system. This backup stops doing backup when my "disk" for backup is full. I have tried the different options within the backup-settings without result to "overwrite" old backup so the backup-schedule will continu. Hello, i got a w8 related issue. When i have already an open RDP connection to server, and open a NEW MSTSC (from command prompt), my existing RDP-connection is opened. I am have a Acer Aspire 5220 running windows 8 pro, I recently installed the graphics driver. Upon reboot the start screen (with all the apps) disappears and I am left with just a blank backround. I can switch to the desktop but I cant access the sidebar. When I click on the system icons the computer freezes up briefly then nothing. The computer was running ok before but then it booted up to a black screen with a moveable cursor. So I refreshed the computer using a recovery disc. Whenever downloading or updating apps from the Windows 8 App Store, the app will download about 5MB then stop. To make the download continue wifi has to be turned off and back on or either switched to a metered connection and then back to non-metered. How can I make the app download completely? 3 month old Dell OptiPlex 3010 desktop that is exactly the same as 10 others in our office. Yesterday, our LAN went down due to AT&T DSL problems. When it connectivity came back, we were unable to sign into this particular PC. We continually got the "PC offline....Use last known password" error. The last known password never worked. Although, we could log in via the Admin account without problem and it had full internet connectivity. Also, within the admin account, I could sign into that user account via the web/Office 365 Live using the password without any problems. I reset the user password to Microsoft supplied temporary password via the Admin account, but this did not resolve the problem. I deleted the account, restarted the PC, the re-added the user account using the same email address, but still cannot login. I now get "You can't sign in to your PC right now. Go to account.live.com to fix the problem, or try the last password you used on this PC". Now, that may be a hint as to what the problem is. The user account is shiiping-at-our-company-dotcom (can't post links until account verified)but there was a secondary email account used in Outlook 2010 that was ourcompany-at-live-dot-com. Is it possible that somehow it is mixing the two? This a major problem because this PC runs the shipping department and needs to logon from that email address Any suggestions greatly appreciated View the full article

When Windows 8 starts it show me a screen full of irrelevant tiles and I have to find the only useful one there, the desktop, and click into that before I can do anything useful for my job. How do I get windows 8 to start up with the dekstop app already running so I don't have to waste time each time I start my computer to make it useful? Hello: I filled out a counterfeit software report on 2/01/13, I printed the form on the screen, and would like to send in the bottom of the form with the requested paperwork, but I have none -the HP computer I purchased was paid cash at a public flea market sale, (it has been used only for grandkids to play games) I now would like to network it with my computer to access the internet, the place where I bought it is no longer there and I have no way to contact the seller?.
