The last few days I have been making some changes to my computer copying files from a desk top to a laptop. I had no issues with my outlook express mail prior to me making some changes. What's interesting is that what I'm experiencing is not happening to my wifes e-mail messags on outlook express or on her iphone. I get e-mails on outlook express, but I can't send my self a message(it doesn't go through). Since this has happened I cannot get any messages on my iphone4. So, what was the point again to remove the DVD codecs? We've been told they are expensive, ok, so, they are gone. What's the result? Un able to send and recieve messages for the window mail account. Live mail could not log on to the e-mail server using secure password authentication. contact your e-mail provider and verify that it supports secure password aythentication. Thanks for your prompt response to my earlier question re upgrading to Windows 7 Professional 64 bit. Per the Windows Upgrade Advisor, my system will take the 32 bit version of Windows Professional 7 with my current RAM. I have a Gateway Windows XP with 2 RAM slots. Originally, there were two 256 MGs of RAM. To increase my RAM, Gateway sent me Kingston 1 GB DDR2 of additional RAM. In order to upgrade to my XP 32 bit to Windows 7 Professional 64 bit, I need an additional 1 GB of RAM. My questions are as follows: (1) Can I just install another 1 GB of RAM in the slot currently containing one of the original 256 MGs of RAM? (2) Do I get a DDR2 module of the 1 GB of RAM? when i start my computer, I keep getting the "checking file system on C: the type of system is NTFS volume label is OS one of your disks need to be checked for consistancy? and it tells me it's highly recommended but i can press any key and get out of the check. I'll admit, i never let it check because after 20min it tells me it's 1 or 2 percent done and i work on this computer.i realize others have asked about this similar issue and i have followed the answers they have recieved but the biggest issue is that others problems or responses to command prompt answers are different from mine and usually they have windows xp or whatever.so i don't know if this is related but i thought i will mention it and throw this brand new laptop in the trash if anymore issues come about!the system is freezing in the middle of video conference's and stats it's not responding, i cant download things like itunes store and windows update ONLY works if i go check for updates physically. i can't choose to have it installed automatically and on voice calls on computer, audio playback is just skipping words or making noise like a CD that is stuck!i don't expect anyone to try to answer all of these questions but i would like to know what i can do to fix the C: drive?it's an ASUS with windows 7 and intel core 13 and 3 weeks old but it is headed for the trash if i can't work on it.thanks in advance View the thread

Even just I double click a text file on the desktop! In this case the Task Manager couldn't be launched so I have no way to browse/kill applications or processes. I have an MSI P6N SLI motherboard with 650i SLI chipset running WinXP pro and 2G of RAM. I recently updated the MSI mb drivers, which included a driver for the nforce 1000mbps onboard network connection. Ever since the update 2 weeks ago, the CPU stays at 50-60% running svchost.exe -k netsvcs. Through Process Explorer I have found the dll file ADVAPI32.dll is taking all the juice. Hi, FYI: Some have a tough time w/ change & acting accordingly in a timely manner when change does come. So fair warning... the only date I have been able to find is March 15th for Messenger ending. It is being replaced by Skype. Right now, installing Skype & signing in to it w/ a Microsoft Acc't lets both Messenger Contacts & Skype Contacts be listed.
