On my WP7 phone I frequently use the Facebook chat built into messaging (I don't have a cell connection in the back of my apartment so it comes in useful). Ever since I have hooked up Facebook on Windows 8 through it's messaging my phone stops receiving Facebook chat messages. Instead, these messages are delivered to Windows 8 if I'm still logged in, which I usually am. My first thought was, remove Facebook from the Windows 8 messaging app. The problem is, when I did that, it also removed it from my phone (and this one reason why saved settings in the cloud can backfire). What are my options, I want to receive these chat messages on my phone, not on Windows 8 (and I'm not logging out everytime I might want to receive them on my phone, it's just not an option as I go in and out of meetings everyday and closing everything down 4-5 times a day just isn't going to happen, nor should it have to as it wasn't the case when I used Windows 7). I wouldn't mind receiving them on both devices but that doesn't appear to be an option, it's like it's delivered and it's first come first serve on what device gets to it first (and since the Win8 Desktop is on a super fast wired connection, it always seems to get it first). How do I get Windows 8 to stop receiving the FB messages so my WP7 phone begins receiving them again (since removing the account on Win8 also removed it from WP7 unfortunately)? I have purchased Win 8 pro upgrade version and installed on a PC, and it is successful. But this installation is limited to one PC only. So I want to purchase win 8 pro full version, so as to install on other PCs also. Is it possible to convert this upgrade version to full version by paying the difference amount? The error message is " This file does not have a program associated with it for performing this action. Create an association in the Set Association Control Panel." If I copy paste the link into my browser it works, if I open my emails in the provider's webmail the link works. I have uninstalled, repaired and uninstalled the program a few times. I have been using MS Money for many years and my latest version is Money Plus Deluxe. I know that MS has stopped all support and the online funtions have also been stopped. I generally always enter all my transactions manually so that has never been a problem. Until today. For some reason i can move around in my account, balance etc. What it will not allow me to do is enter a new transaction. What is happening and is this a PC problem or has MS totally shut this down? i have rebooted my pc., backed up my accounts but i cannot add a new transaction to my checking account. Help. From Help: "If you're saving your backups on a hard drive or network location, Windows Backup will create a new, full backup for you automatically when needed." This indicates it is possible to save backups on a network location, but I don't see a way to specify one in Backup and Restore settings. It only shows hard drives, DVD, etc. View the thread

I saw the windows live and as I had made the mistake in upgrading to windows 8 and outlook express wasn't available I tried it. It is the same **** as outlook and its impossible to get microsoft to respond to any simple requests for assistance. I feel its best I delete all but my word program and change back to yahoo, at least it works. Mike View this thread

I cannot use the Windows 7 Remote Desktop Client to connect to my Windows 8 Pro machine using a Microsoft account. It fails as if it's a bad password. I've tried multiple formats:me@email.com; email.comme; email.comme@email.com; pcnameme@email.com; etc. Interestingly it does work using Remote Desktop Connection Manager v2.2. I erased the audio-sound driver by accident. Just being stupid and trigger happy. Found a realtek driver (sp26731.exe) that fit the description and installed but toward the end it said I needed a Microsoft bus driver before it could complete the installation. I am lost. I had Windows 7 (retail Upgrade version, with key) running on my old computer. Just built a brand new computer, and wanted to run my windows 7 on it (and disassemble my old one). My original plan was to build everything new---except my hard drive---and I had asked the Microsoft Community before hand if I could do this. The replies were that I could, but I might need to do a repair install and then reactivate Windows (because of the hardware change). I tried that---but after numerous attempts, Windows simply wouldn't load from my former drive. By looking through the error reports, I came upon, "Root cause found: Unspecified changes to system configuration might have cause problem." Didn't know what to do at that point. So, today I purchased a new hard drive. I looked at Microsoft Support (using my laptop), and under "Reinstalling Windows 7," it said to choose the "Custom Installation" (which is, of course, a clean install). I did so, and when completed, I tried to reactivate Windows 7. I went through the procedure with a phone representative, and ended up getting the "0xC004F061" error, caused because I'm trying to use an upgrade version and didn't have Windows XP installed. So, the representative said there was nothing she could do, and hung up on me. Had I understood that I needed to have XP running, I could have installed it first---although my copy of XP is OEM because I received it when I bought a computer years ago, and so, maybe the key on that wouldn't work anymore as well? But in my present situation, I don't know how to remove Windows 7 from my (single-drive, single-boot) system to give that a try. Any suggestions? I likely can't even pay the $40 and upgrade to Windows 8, because the Windows 7 version is not activated. Linux is looking better and better... Thanks for any assistance. View the thread

This happens quite frequently and gets worse.... as I try to do streaming vidio. The system crashes and it will restart.... but I get no feed back from microsoft....even after several updated crash reports. Seems Vista gets more unstable as time wears on . Only was installed 2 months prior.... I've tried restore points to no avail. I've tried all kinds of microsoft fix it solutions...Still no help. This is a true licensed copy of Vista by Microsoft.
