  2. Wow holy thread revival batman!!!! the irony of this thread is that on other forums that I have been a member of in the past it has been proven that for value for money, and playability a console will win over a PC, but for versatility PC's win, well show me a Playstation, Xbox, emulator :) but one of my all time favourite games has to be Microsoft's Elite from the 80's
  3. OK give us some time to do some research, and we will get back to you with what you can put together for the cheapest price, may take a little longer than normal as we will have to look at best way to do things on a price base, ie whats cheaper? Motherboard with everything on, or basic motherboard with cheap cards. also do you really want that case as it may work out cheaper to get a case with PSU and fans pre Installed?
  4. As the case you are buying is listed without FANs and Without PSU, you still need air flow through the case to cool components and no CPU's come with coolers Motherboards come with cables :)
  5. I t gives us access to the manufactures site and advanced Manuals and other info about your machine without having to ask you. :) right I'll do a little research and get back to you :)
  6. Hi Numnum can you tell us the make and model number of your Machine? and was there a reason you turned of indexing? and did this problem start straight after you turned of indexing?
  7. Hi and welcome two months on the net and just got here :)
  8. Hi Razorbill without the exact model number I can't tell you exactly how to but... from what you have said I assume this is a desk top, not a tower, and probably a compact version at that, which has an old crt monitor sit on top of? If so when you lift the lid of the case there should be some sort of hinge mechanism so that the drive cradle can be lifted and tilted forward? If you can give us the Model number we will see if we can give you a more accurate how to guide :)
  9. Hi Bolton We need a PSU prob about 500w (But depends on just what spec this system is going to be?) We have a AMD Athlon 64 dual core ?Ghz (What about a CPU cooler) We Need a Motherboard Socket AM2 with onboard graphics + sound + Ethernet ATX We Need 2 Gig RAM We Need a HDD? size? Sata, I, II? We Need a DVD R or R/W (I'd say R/W for what the difference in price is) SATA or IDE? We need case fans We Need an OS system Vista? XP?(Microsoft are starting to end XP support so I would recommend that you go for Vista) Do we need to consider Monitor, Keyboard and mouse and at a guess you would like this all for a £5 (Sorry cant work miracles) but as cheap as possible or do you have a set figure in mind that you would like to spend?
  10. Hi Marko Just to let you know that were working on this problem, and are doing some research into what the most likely cause is, As you can appreciate the lack of information leaves us with a lot of possible causes, but the general consensus at the moment is that it is likely to be hardware related. we will probably get back to you some time tomorrow after we have had chance to consult with some of our Hardware Specialists.
  11. Hi serge are you or have you tried disabling all your AV software before installing or trying to install in safe mode? or have you tried a system restore to some point when thing were working ok?
  12. Hi Lancer Don't blame you I have Empire total war for a week now just can't get enough time to play it  If you have any problems with installing it, IE Steam and fixed IP address feel free to ask :)
  13. Hi and Welcome
  14. Hi Kevh rumours seem to indicate that Windows 7 is to be released to the Manufacturers around Oct 09, and then shortly after for general retail outlets. It should be interesting as to how it actually turns out I've spoke to 3 people that have tried the Beta, One loves it and cant wait, One says is it really worth the money to upgrade and our own Dalo here who is definitely against it. But until it is released and people start using it, loks like we will just all be left guessing. p.s. if you see something you want to post a comment on, feel free as we get tired of arguing amongst ourselves and other peoples input is always appreciated
  15. My First suggestion is to do a system Restore to a date prior to installing IE8 to make sure this problem has been caused by installing IE8 in the first place. How ever we have found that IE8 and XP have not worked well together untill some updates have been loaded as well, so I must ask did you just Download IE8 or did you Download IE 8 and then check for updates?
  16. Hi Marko that don't exactly give us a lot to work with, Do you get any warning signs before hand? How do you reboot, turn power off? press reset? Have you tried opening the Task manager when this happens? Ctrl+Alt+Del Do you get ant error Messages after you Reboot?
  17. Hi and welcome
  18. Hi we would appear to have two possibilities as to why you get these errors, ether a corrupt registry, or addware/Malware first off Malwarebytes try rename the downloaded mbam-setup.exe file to mb.exe to help work around certain malware that will block it from being run. and then get back to us with the results
  19. There are some good tips HERE on how to speed up your PC, the one thing that I would not recommend is downloading any programs/software that promise to make things work faster.
  20. Hi and welcome
  21. Also just to add to Randy's post we would need your system specs PSU CPU Motherboard RAM and to know what Budget you are looking at to advise you properly :)
  22. Personally I don't know if there is any truth in it or not but... The my Docs folder is on your hard drive and the speed it opens at would be related to RAM, Buffers, Caches, and Hard drive Speed RPM, so any saving in time would be in milliseconds if not nanoseconds, so I think its a case of go faster stripes on a car. If anyone can produce a link to an artical of reputable publication to state the contrary I would like to read it
  23. Hi Louise and welcome
  24. I Have my mouse set so that it's only my finger tips that have to move the palm of my hand stays stationary on the desk. and all for £5
  25. Don't know if it will get rid of password manager as I haven't used IE for years, but it could cause other problems and would defiantly be less secure.
