  1. I agree with RandyL,wich is what I was trying to say earlier in the thread................
  2. Hello and welcome. Have you tried eBay?
  3. It would be played through the PC speakers. You either have to install the phones software if a media player is included with it onto your PC. Or open My computer and locate the phones memory card and then locate the music files and open. You can play all files via Windows Media Player. You could simply copy the music files to the PC via right click copy and paste.
  4. Hello and welcome. You would have to remove the hard drive from the case and either fit into another external case or fit internaly as a slave to another computer. Once you remove the hard drive you will see it is either SATA or IDE connection.
  5. Thankyou Dalo.Thats what I was trying to say,the older OS is possible issue. I was not saying upgrade to XP I was only giving an example hularbear.....Your using an older OS and it is possible it refuses to reconise the larger HDD.
  6. This is an older computer and older operating system. This to me often shows the computer is not capable of running a larger hard drive such as a 500 gig as a main drive. EXAMPLES: I usaly advise when an origonal hard drive upon purchase is 40 gig I say max upgrade is around 120 gig. If origonal hard drive was lets say 120 gig I would say average max drive to be fitted would be 250 gig.. I did a search on your computer and the origonal HDD was 40 gig, that your computer could replace its HDD upto 120 gig HDDs.But I personaly would say upto a 250 gig. I have found no evidence were it states this older computer can run a 500 gig hard drive if you can point me to were you found this information I could take a read. Also 32 bit OS such as XP often has trouble reconising a larger HDD such as 500 gig. I would test the HDD in the external case just to prove it is not a fault with the hard drive. If the HDD shows full 500 gig then the HDD is not at fault. My sugestion here is to split the drive into two seprate partitions, this then would possibly cure the low gig reading. Did you try deleteing the partition during install and increase the size? Reading your post this HDD was removed from a computer that had issues. There for test it in the external case.
  7. You should have Acer ERecovery installed.
  8. I have set my screens up as if it was one screen,it gives me the space I desire. I can have a few pages open and they do not interfere in my work. I will eventualy have three screens.
  9. Wide spread phone scam to....... HM Revenue & Customs: HMRC related scam examples POLICE are warning residents of the Upper Swansea Valley of a telephone scam where householders are told they are eligible for a tax rebate. Warning over tax refund scam - Shields Gazette

  11. I should realy make a thread when I spot these things. All this free FarmVille free cash offer is all a con to.People being hacked and infected. The free FV offer is a hoax and is nothing to do with FaceBook.

  13. Very similar to this has been going around for some time now. Asking to download an attached file and then your infected when you do.
  14. To enter BIOS itself you restart your computer and on the screen it will say to enter setup press ? ? is a key wich could be the Del,F1 or F2 key on your keyboard. Press wich key it tells you to. Make sure the card is connected internaly first. You could load defaults while in BIOS this again will indicate according to your BIOS version wich key to press on your keyboard. Then save and exit. Located near the BIOS battery internaly you will see 3-4 little pins in a row,two of these pins will have a little plastic jumper just like a HDD or CD/DVD drive. Power off the computer and remove from power outlet. Remove jumper. Now if you only have three pins then place the jumper on the middle pin and the empty pin.Wait one minute and replace jumper on origonal pins. If you have four pins remove jumper and place over the two empty pins and wait a minute or two.Replace jumper on origonal two pins. Restart your computer. PS:I is a girl LOL.
  15. A new GPU often enough needs a BIOS reset. Is the card enabled in BIOS? Is the slot enabled in BIOS? Are you able to enter BIOS? Have you tried resetting the BIOS via the mainboards reset jumper?

Or we also do not use a thread to act arrogant, prattle on like girls. 17. Does this happen when your running off only the battery or while running on your AC adaptor? Bad LCD inverters are one of the most common reasons for laptop LCD failure. Your laptop's LCD inverter is a small circuit board built into your LCD screen. The inverter board gives power to your LCD's backlight, which allows you to view images, graphics and videos on your LCD screen. If the inverter board starts to go bad, your LCD screen may appear to be dim or it may go completely black. Shut down your laptop and disconnect the power cable and any external peripheral devices. Close the LCD screen, place the laptop face down and remove the battery pack from the bottom casing of the laptop. Flip the computer over with the top side of the laptop facing upward. Open the LCD screen, then use a flat head screwdriver to remove the rubber screw covers from the front panel of the LCD screen assembly. There are five screw covers--two along the top edge of the front panel and three along the bottom edge of the panel. Use a small Phillips screwdriver to remove the five exposed screws from the front panel of the LCD screen. Grasp the outer edges of the front panel and remove the front panel from the LCD assembly Locate the inverter board along the bottom edge of the LCD assembly. Disconnect the cables from each end of the inverter board. Lift the inverter board out of the LCD assembly and store it in a static-free plastic bag. Place the new LCD inverter board in the place of the old board. Connect the inverter cables to each end of the new inverter board. Replace the front panel of the LCD assembly, the five retaining screws and their rubber screw covers. Close the LCD screen, then place the laptop face down. Place the battery pack back inside of its compartment. Place the laptop face up and reconnect the power cable and peripheral devices. Turn on the laptop to test the new inverter board. I DO NOT reccomend anyone stripping down a laptop or its screen unless you know exactly what you are doing. You could possibly cause more damage.
  18. The security team could answer this one much better. I agree Monkeyboy someone could of logged in some time ago and it only now showed up on your account. It could of been a hacker. Although I have been dealing with a few friends of late who use FaceBook Mobile.Yes diffrent subject, but to use as an example. They have been logging onto there Mobile FaceBook accounts and finding diffrent email adresses listed that they nore friends use. I sugest straight away change ALL passwords on your computer, email accounts,FaceBook, etc etc.
  19. Hello. If it is infected then we have a security team here who will fix this for free. Click start/All Programs/Accessories/right click on command prompt and choose run as admin. In command prompt window type sfc /scannow and hit enter let sfc /scannow run. Possibly backlight issue. Possibly you need a graphics card driver update. Others will input I am sure and help further.
  20. HAPPY BIRTHDAY,X
  21. Excellent. Babe we all input with ideas that may help you, some work some dont. :) Gosh I was running an old windows 98 Dell computer and I upgraded it and I loved it. The older HP computers were built to last,as I said I have two and they pritty fast little computers. Glad your back to normal.
  22. I have three hard drives. One main C drive. Two external drives. As C drive could fail or your D drive could.Keeping data on a second/slave HDD or external USB HDD is a good idea.If your main drive failed you would not loose all your data. Installing and uninstalling software on your C drive can cause corruption. I download all my software and files to an external HDD.This way I scan the files for any infection and when found to be clean I can then open and use the file, transfer it to C drive if I wish.If the file was infected I just delete and rescan with my AV.Doing this can help stop your main C drive getting infected wich could cause you to spend many hours having the infection cleaned or having to reinstall windows. Ok I could go on and on and on why I think storing data on a second drive is a good idea but I am not going to. You in my opinion are doing the right thing store all your data on a second drive. Just be aware the second drive could fail and all data could be lost so run regular chkdsk on both your hard drives.
  23. Hey calm down,I have two older HP computers,my baby uses one and the other is in my bedroom. For being lower budget computers they have lasted and the one in my room runs Vista Ultinate 32 bit just fine.I have took very good care of them and have lasted the duration. They have been upgraded and great little runners. All I am saying is hardware even when it is looked after can degrade over time and I think your issue is possibly this. I actualy have the brightness issue even though only slight on my self build computer and not the older HPs.So even with brand new hardware the DVI and VGA connections do make a diffrence wether slight or more noticable. The diffrence in your monitors is very noticable. Can you borrow a dual GPU off a friend and test it in your system? If you can borrow one of similar specs and it shows both monitors on similar brightness then your graphics card is the issue. Another idea I have to test your power consumption is to disconnect any hardware that is not required to boot and run the computer.Remove all USB connected items,speakers,router/modem etc etc.Now once they are removed as all these items can consume power especialy USB connected items, does the monitor picture improve? Simple tricks I know but they can possibly tell us or give us more of a clue. Do both your monitors have factory reset? If yes then try using it,it will take some time to reset the monitors but it is worth a try. I gave an example as in my DVI port runs the monitor great VGA port makes my second monitor a little duller yours is just the other way around.
