    boot into safe mode by tapping f8 at startup,then remove the driver,and reboot.(remove it via device mannager). or boot into safe mode then do a system restore.. your lg monitor does NOT reqiure drivers your graphics card on the other hand does. what graphics card do you have....in device manager also. i will post you a link to the latest driver,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, regards danzil

    have you updated fully what version of windows media player is it......have you updated your sound card driver,and graphics driver.... what board do you have,what is loading at startup, start>run type in msconfig click the startup tab then post back what s in there. regards danzil

    monitor what the other pc is doing,,has the other pc been scanned for viruse etc www,trendmicro.com and mailware http://www.ewido.com. monitor network via task manager and let us know what the outcome is.also i would scan your pc too. how long has this been going on for, what has changed since regards danzil

    hi your quickest easiest bet (and what i would try first) is a system restore start>all progs>acessories>system tools>system restore choose a day before it happen then restore to it.give that a try then post back regards danzil

    i reckon this is to do with either the speaker or the sound card itself. try updated sound card drivers... and a different set of speakers.... where are the speakers, what else electrical is near them regards danzil

    wow i have never heard of adding ram slowing your pc down.where did you hear this. im sure the extra 2 gb will improve your system not cause any lagging,,, just use the same ram that is already installed regards danzil

    a cheap colour usb scanner will do you then,,,you can get one cheap from pc world, currys dixon, etc almost any retail store danzil

    what is the make of reader.do you have a reb green blue black cable coming from it. regards danzil

    the laptop has wireless built in,what you need is an access point or wireless router to connect to i take it you have broadband how do you recieve your broadband into your pc,,,what is the make of equiptment...it needs to be wireless.if not at least a router,so you can use an ethernet cable danzil

    the stop error points to inaccessible boot volume. clean your cd and try again. was the pc running fine before you decided to re-install. what is the make of pc. is the drive sata or IDE regards danzil

    may help http://www.totalidea.com/content/tweakvi/tweakvi-down.php i know in xp to change start menu to your own custome settings like u need, i had to create a copy of explorer.exe then use a hex editor to change fonts, names,icon etc rename it to something else like explorer1.exe. then point winlogon to it via the registry.this maybe the only way in vista. im not sure if the new security improvements in vista will allow this. i will have a go when i have time then post back. not sure if gpedit.msc will help,but might here is how to do the simple mod in xp http://www.overclockersclub.com/guides/xpstartbutton.php regards danzil.

    try download klite codec pack from here http://www.free-codecs.com/download/K_Lite_Codec_Pack.htm then install that and try then.. do you have any other dvd software install, maybe worth install power dvd you can get a trial of this, to see if it will then play. have you run anti virus scans, have you removed any other software lately, have you tried a system restore back to before this happened. regards danzil

    is there anything needed on your hard drive. you do a re-install of xp,then vista,,,,you will not need to activate xp to re-install vista obviously. in vista can yu get into safe mode. give me details of what you have tried so far.....do you have a psare hard drive to remove anything needed from your operating system, regards danzil

    backup your registry obviously before tinkering.. im not sure of the vista reg entry try HKEY_CURRENT_USER/Software/Microsoft/Windows/CurrentVersion/Explorer/Advanced Double click Start_LargeMFUIcons and then modfy the data value.that make work,,,make sure system restore has a last checkpoint saved so you can recover incase. regards danzil. i am not home at the mo i will try the reg entrie on mine,then post a reg file so you can just merge it if need be. speak to ya soon randyl

    hi randyl i will take a look when i get home on my vista, to see if it can indeed be done. i will post back my findings ASAP. late what time is it there then its 1.30 in the afternoon in goog old gloucestershire.

    the things to look out for are. speed of scanning. how many items you can scan without having to save every scan seperatly do you want a printer scanner. best thing is to tell us what you are going to be mainly using it for. i will see what i can find for you. what is your budget regards danzil

    ok. try running check disk on your hard drive, right click the c:\ drive then click properties then tools then error- checking. also try defragging the hard drive, and running all anti virus scans etc. http://www.trendmicro.com http://www.ewido.com. post back what you find regards danzil

    unfortunatly you will be able to get a really good card for £40, but you will be able to get a card that works good enough. i only paid £60 for mine and it plays all i throw at it. downlaod everest from http://www.majorgeeks.com/download4181.html this will tell you what you already have installed. post back your specs and i will see if i can help more. regards danzil
