Networking Problem on Windows
danzil replied to zkyevolved's topic in Tech Support & Discussions Forum
have you tried adding these addresses to trusted sites, can you even ping them from the suspect computer. if so get the ip it gives you and type that into the address bar in ie,can you veiw the page now. to ping go to start>run type in cmd, vista just go to search then cmd, right click cmd then click run as admin. in the dos like box type in ping "website" then press enter you should get a reply then an ip. try that. is there any suspect software on this machine,,, not sure if this will help try flushing the dns, in the dos box type ipconifig /flushdns give that ago, i will think of some other solutions. really tired today sorry. regards danzil -
Installing Vista on a PC i've Built
danzil replied to louis321's topic in Tech Support & Discussions Forum
1 other thing you may want to try if possible. is to put the hard drive in another pc, and copy the whole of the xp cd to the drive, via dos or cmd prompt, then put it back in your machine, and then try booting from a floppy and going to c:\ and runnuing setup.exe not sure if this can be done in xp.i know all previous o/s's could. this has worked for me numerous times, not saying it will for oyu tho,use this as a last resort can someone verify this. regards danzil -
Installing Vista on a PC i've Built
danzil replied to louis321's topic in Tech Support & Discussions Forum
hi there just to confirm, you say it as frozen during post,,,this being when your bios loads. if htis is the case then a hardware fault is most likely,,,not the operating system installation. i find usually installs fail due to the following cpu heat, memory faulty, hard drive faulty, graphics card heat. these are the main issue i find (so my opinion), you may want to check these out,,,,,may want to see if there is a bios update, or at least reset it..pop the cmos battery out of your board for 30 mins then pop it back in then set the bios time n date back up, boot order etc. if you do go down the hardware checking area, i would try memory first,,,download memtest, bash it on floppy boot from it and leave it to run for 24 hours or until its complete.....this checks every byte of memory you have for read and write errors.etc. any thing else i can help with please post back. regards danzil -
hi nuts. is he re downloading the installation,,i f the install fails there is usuallly an icon put on your desktop called retry blah blah. that s what he needs to retry. alternativly he can do a system restore back to when he tried the install, then re download it manually (google for it)then install it that way. if you cannot find it via google ask me then let me know. regards danzil kezzy please open your own topic, it is usually frowned upon and called thread hijacking adding a question to some one else topic... but if i where you i would uninstall bittorrent and.or bitcomet. then re-install them, i would also make sure the firewall ports in your opersting system and/or router are open.... regards danzil

johnnyj put them both in the same workgroup. enable priner and file sharing in the firewall. right click the folder you wan to share then click "sharing and security"share that then on the other pc go to my computer>tools>map network drive then browse , browse the workgroup name then click hat you want to map... alternativly to find the share go to network connections in control panel, then find my network places in the left, thne workgroup computers, in there wil lbe the pc with the share. then do the same on the other pc. not really advisable to share the whole of the XP hard drive for security reasons. let me know if i can help anymore ranimagendran if your pc has a bluetooth dongle then yes,you can make the dongle bridge to the broadband (not dial up),then this wil act as a gateway to your phone then pair to the device, and browse awy...make sure your phone is capable though,,,you will get a huge bill if you use he internet on your phone and not your broadband... for more info give me the make and model of phone. one last thing please start your own topic instead of jumping on anothermthis is usually frowned on. regards to you both danzil

Windows Cant Find Hard Drives
danzil replied to Boomshanka's topic in Tech Support & Discussions Forum
what make of motherboard do you have...i will then be able to find where the sata controller is for you... also have you made sure you are using the correct sata drivers on that cd. also try anothe sata cable and port on your motherboard... have you ran any diagnostics on the hard drive as yet. sata can be qiute funny with windows if the driver isnt 100%,can you get the drivers again and put them on a fresh floppy and give it a retry. also like maynardvdm said is the bios even finding the hard drive.but resetting the bios you may have turned of the sata controller...boot back into your bios,go to standard bios features, then look in there for your hard drive.... the sata controller is usually in intergrated periphials (soory for the spelling lol), or advanced features.if i remeber correctly. regards danzil -

the fan on the psu uses the source from the transformer inside the psu so no need for additional power. the IDE cable has a long length then where the connector is it shortens http://www.eutronix.com/IDE_cable1.jpg so as in the picture, the connection on the longest end goes to the motherboard, then the next to the drive.as for the cd audio, the 3 pin cable is only used for anologue audio, like from windows cd player (not media player).if you dont need the analogue then dont worry about this connection, the audio will come from the IDE as digital. you will have an audio header on the motherboard, this is used for front panel audio. (on the case). here is the wiring diagram, donwload the manual if you dont have one from http://www.gigabyte.com.tw/Support/Motherboard/Manual_DownloadFile.aspx?FileType=Manual&FileID=18074 six pin connection is mainly used for graphics card power. the Nvidia Geforce 8800GTS has 2 connectors so a converter is needed a 1 to 2 y cable.4 hope that helps post back if you need more info on any of this regards danzil

Program messing up PC, won't delete
danzil replied to weileder's topic in Tech Support & Discussions Forum
The PrismXL service lets the Client deploy Tasks on a target computer regardless of the current user.s permissions. and can also allow remote control of your machine..did oyu install this.. supposedly comes from www.newboundary.com. this is a legit peice of softwarer but can be used for more devious purposes. c:\windows\xpupdate is usually added by the RBOT-QE WORM!, try running an anti virus scan from www.trendmicro.com also a rubbish/mailware etc remover from www.ewido.com update it then do a full system scan then delete what is found. there is at least 5 infections 1 virus.4 mail/adware. run those scans then repost a hijack this log. regards danzil -
could be either. have you tried an anti virus scan. try this http://www.trendmicro.com mailware remover http://www.ewido.com and rubbish remover http://www.ccleaner.com try defragging your hard drive, and see if there is a newer usb driver....what model of advent is your laptop regards danzil
