  2. A friend recently asked me how to clear notifications from the Skype news feed , and since it seems you can't do this from within Skype itself here's a little workaround Step 1. Quit Skype Step 2 From your windows PC goto C:\users\YOUR.NAME\Appdata\Roaming\skype\Your.Skype.Name If Appdata folder is not visible then from your windows explorer goto Tools > Folder Options > View Tab > Select "Show hidden files, folders and drives" Step 3 Rename keyval.db to keyval.db_org Step 4 Start Skype again and you will see that your mood messages no longer exists. When you start skype again a new keyval.db file will be created you can always restore your original by quitting skype and deleting the new keyval.db file and renaming your old keyval.db file from keyval.db_org to keyval.db and starting skype again

  7. Hi Waggle The named folders are GUIDs (Global Unique ID) folders used for updating. You can safely delete them. I would recommend rebooting first just to ensure that no pending update operating is waiting that might need data in one of the folders.

Hello again the following page contains your driver details http://support.asus.com/download.aspx?SLanguage=en&p=3&s=207&m=K60IL&os=&hashedid=Jbgp4K2eWyOZBBox its the second one down and as you see the PID matches Azurewave Camera Driver Azurewave Camera Driver 1. Please refer to below FAQ to check your camera''''''''s PID code: http://support.asus.com/faq/faq_right_second_detail.aspx?kb_guid=02B6B989-4468-5237-CB04-BCF5B9FE9714&model_name=A3E&SLanguage=en-us 2. This driver is for below PID code: HardwareID=USB\VID_13D3&PID_5094&MI_00

On the web page KenB has supplied there's 5 webcam drivers yours will be third or fourth , follow the instructions on the website to find the PID code for the camera , then firstly remove the old driver via device manager , then download and install the corresponding driver for the cameras PID code , I had the same problem with my own ASUS netbook.
  19. when you have both screens on does the one with a black screen say " out of range" ? also when there both plugged in right click on the working one and select screen resolution it will show your extended displays as 1 and 2 if its 1 that's not working click on the picture of the screen and adjust the resolution and apply see if that helps
  20. Am using Win 8 on dual boot desktop with two 3D screens even though I cant see 3D lol , what I do like like Ken is the boot up times , I also like xbox music , homegroup/filesharing so much easier to set up , what I don't like is desktop background slideshow wont sync as it does with Win 7 but that's mainly cosmetic , realistically am used to them both now so either 7 or 8 I don't mind unless its my netbook then its 7 cos 8 don't look right on it
  21. Hi have you updated your graphics drivers recently , NVIDIA released a update just over a week ago , and how are you choosing to extend your displays via windows built in controls or by the NVIDIA control panel ?
  22. ** Ozwanderer you could try resetting the .exe .bat file associations a small program called Rkill will do this for you , download and save to your desktop you must rename the file double click it let it run when finished close it then try your desktop programs don't reboot if this works then it's likely malware is the culprit and the security guys will help further.
  23. Hmmmmmmm I know its a bit left field but have you tried live booting a linux disk and then attaching the drive , then seeing if you can access the files that way
  24. Yeah I'd install it saves having to run it via browser every time
