  1. LMFAO - I am not being funny but the type of people that listen to stuff like this are bound to get so much spam and like you say there is no such thing as a free lunch. On a side note - Bill Gates the same person who has so much money to spend - has said when he dies he will not pass all his fortune to his kids as he wants them to understand the value of working and making their own success, does this sound like someone that would pay people $245 a contact on an email  enough said I think
  2. 53 stitches - thats only a scratch on his leg.
  3. I used to use that but have not done so for a while - very good and useful piece of kit Doug - definately worth a mention :)
  4. Ok using an Ethernet on the main PC - can you try the laptop using the Ethernet and see if that works
  5. Are you connecting the main PC via Ethernet or wireless? can you try the laptop with an Ethernet cable straight into the router - if it works then that means the settings in the router home page or on the laptop need setting up.
  6. Definately hardware with a BSOD on startup
  7. Shrimply on the MOBO number I checked on the web and some etailers still sell it and under the specs say that it's AGP4x, it's been that mong since I have used AGP - I am sure that an 8x will fit but will only run at half speed, basically the chip that sits in the slot is 2 4x if that makes sense and one just hangs over the slot. I am 99% sure
  8. It probably just needs the MOBO drivers installing - you did order a AGP4X card right?
  9. Ok - just had a scan about and the maximum speed of the RAM is DDR333 (PC2700) and IT WILL support a MAXIMUM of 1.5GB, over the 2 slots, so a 1GB stick would be the best option, and then as a future upgrade you can if need be get a 512MB stick. I would have a look for BIOS updates on the MSI website though as they may have thrown one in that supports DDR400 (just read the release notes on the page) *UPDATE* I just looked on the MSI site and they are listing the MS-6580 as 845 and then variations of that board. on that note just get the DDR333
  10. Yeah it's fine - just read the part above about the speeds though
  11. Hi Malkivich, Welcome to FPCH :) There aren't many things between us we can't do - our next task is to take over the world *supervillain cackle*
  12. RCT3 is reknowned for problems - from last time I looked there are lots of patches available and there are LOTS of 'issues' with it on the web, If you have a new laptop WORST case scenario would be that you use the Recovery partition or recovery disks, BUT I must stress that I doubt the game was what was causing the problems it sounds like the computer was on its way out anyway and that its just a coincidence that it popped when you installed RCT3 Hope this helps :)
  13. Hi Shrimply, It all depends on the MOBO and what speed RAM it can take - if its DDR333 it may support DDR400 which will give a boost in speed and, from memory, be cheaper. If you have a look in the MOBO manual or look it up on line it will tell you what speeds of RAM the MOBO supports. you can run 1GB with a 256MB module BUT if the speeds are the same i.e. both DDR400 then they will both run at DDR400 BUT if one is DDR400 and one is DDR333 then they will both run at DDR333 as all the RAM has to run at the slowest speed. Hope this is ok and makes sense Shrimply :)
  14. Thanks for letting us know - sounds like a combination of things to be honest if the pixels went too then the MOBO probably fried :(
  15. Is it me or is that an egg to the right of the bog lol
  16. Greenday over Evanescence Maynard what is wrong with you
  17. ok I am confused:- you have 2 physical drives one is labelled C:/ and the other E:/ when you try and Format E:/ it only formats 5GB but the drive is 80GB - right so far? you want to leave C:/ alone and just format all of E:/? hope this makes sense :) If what I have wrote is right you need to deactivate the disk in admin tools/disk management and then do the format
  18. Hi Burnzy - welcome to FPCH :)
  19. You just need to go into Computer right click on the drive that you want to format and click format. This will erase ALL data on the drive - I take it thats what you want or is the drive split into 2 sections (partitions) as in one is C:/ and one is E:/
  20. Anything Linkin Park and Evanescence :D
  21. We covered this awhile ago on FPCH - but here is an update:- Rumors of abit’s exit from the motherboard business have been around for some time. But even though the company says they remain just as committed to motherboards as ever, a new report by UK tech site Hexus claims to have received confirmation from industry sources that the opposite is true. Apparently abit will continue to deliver mainboards until the end of the year, with warranty claims and RMAs to be honored for a further 3 years. Abit has so far declined to comment, but this follows reports from last month that the company was dismissing employees from many departments, including those who previously worked on the Fatal1ty and MAX series of motherboards. 22. Google has just announced it is set to release a new web browser tomorrow built from the ground up and based on WebKit, the same rendering engine that Safari uses. The browser, dubbed Chrome, is open-source software built with security, compatibility and speed in mind – and of course it’ll integrate various Google services in it. Google chose a rather interesting way to announce their open source web browser project. In a 38 page comic book the company explains some of the browser’s features, such as the fact that it will include a new JavaScript virtual machine and the Google Gears add-on by default. Chrome is said to be a better solution for complex and rich Web applications, delivering better performance as well as “smoother drag and drops” in interactive applications. http://www.techspot.com/fileshost/newspics2/2008/google-chrome.jpg Sourced from Google to launch Chrome web browser tomorrow - TechSpot News
  23. It is only capable of running Linux too - the 2GB HDD that it has would be completely used with most versions of windows - it's ok if you literally just want to use the net but even then 128MB RAM is WELL BELOW minimum specification.
  24. Hi Krissy, welcome to FPCH - as Wolfey has said you cannot swap the processors as they are different sockets and size. Pentium 4 CPU's are extremely cheap, so it would be much easier to just replace the P4
